PTI May Release Countdown Day 1

Can you believe another month has gone by?! We will be counting down and revealing new products over the next 4 days for the May release at Papertrey Ink. Today, we are introducing you to Sweet Baby Bib dies + Just Sentiments: Welcome stamps + Cornered: Fresh Cuts dies + Psalm Reflections: May stamps and dies + Into the Blooms: Geraniums + Corner Decor stamps and dies.

I am so in love with the new bib dies that make just the cutest baby cards ever! I made a girly version for my first take. Yes, that adorable giraffe and the flowers are part of this set also!

I used a striped stencil for the background and those corner dies are also a new release item.

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Welcome
INK: Lemon Tart, Lovely Lady, Orange Zest; Bundled Sage, Rustic Wilderness distress.
PAPER: White, Lemon Tart, Honey Nut, Lovely Lady.
DIES: Sweet Baby Bib, Cornered: Fresh Cuts, Love to Layer: Hearts.

<--To the left is a photo of the inside.

On to the next card which features another beautiful stamp set in the Psalm Reflections series.

I kept this pretty clean and simple and adorned the corners with some new Corner Decor stamps/dies.

The Bitty Big patterned papers from PTI are always a fun option with backgrounds.

STAMPS: Psalm Reflections May.

PAPER: Bitty Big: Raspberry Fizz, White.
DIES: Love to Layer: Squares, Corner decor.

Ahhh...these new geraniums in the Into the Blooms series are totally amazing! I decided to fill up the vase released last month and added a small sentiment from the Tuck It Sentiments set. It's my 'go to' set for sentiments that don't take up much space on your design!

I smooshed distress inks onto Bristol Smooth Surface paper for the florals then splattered with a darker color when I finished assembling all the pieces.

STAMPS: Vase Collection 17, Tuck It Sentiments.
INK: Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Bundled Sage, Rustic Wilderness distress; Misty Coast, Metropolis; Versamark.
PAPER: Weathervane, White, Bristol Smooth Surface.

Time to Unwind

Another breezy, cool day! Currently 54 degrees and it's near noon. Where is our nice warm May weather??? Anyway... I was asked to make a masculine retirement card so this is what I whipped up last evening. I first looked at Pinterest and was inspired by a card by Louise Dunbar, so that's where I started my process.

I pulled the long ago retired Garage Gears dies from Stampin' Up and wanted a vintage clock to add to the collage. I had to do some major digging but finally found this Rose Clock rubber stamp from Stamp It Australia. I disguised the rose by layering gears over it. I totally forgot to photograph the inside but I die cut a large 'congrats' and added a "You're retired!" sentiment underneath. The sentiment on the card front was computer generated.

STAMPS: Rose Clock (Stamp It Australia); Perfect Pairs Essentials (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Metallic paper (matte silver, shiny silver, copper, champagne); Black, White (PTI).
DIES: Garage Gears (SU); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics and Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things); Circle die (Spellbinders).

I'm off to a luncheon with some relatives. Have a happy Thursday!  ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #741

Hi everyone! It's time for another Color Throwdown challenge and it's a beautiful palette for spring: sage green, pink, yellow and brown! Amy Rysavy is hosting this week and I took the inspiration photo literally and went with florals for yet another birthday card. I dug into my Papertrey Ink 'old favorites' and pulled out this rustic frame stamp/die/sentiment set and accented with leaves and flowers from Posies and Sprigs.

I used Rustic Cream paper for the base, frame and all the die cuts. I stamped with a combination of PTI dye inks and mostly distress inks by Ranger. The frame was popped up using foam tape and I embellished with another favorite - moonshine sequins.

STAMPS: Antique Wishes, Posies and Sprigs (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Dark Chocolate, Cocoa Bean (PTI); Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Bundled Sage, Shabby Shutters, Evergreen Bough distress inks.
PAPER: Rustic Cream, Classic Kraft (PTI).
DIES: Antique Wishes, Posies and Sprigs (PTI).
OTHER: Moonshine sequins (PTI).

We'd love to have you join us and play along! Happy stamping!

Make A Wish

Happy Tuesday! It's another cool (53 degrees) and windy May day! I've been in my craft room most of the morning and wanted to share a card I made last evening after the mail lady delivered new Greetery goodies! I am really loving working with layering stencils, so when The Greetery's new release went live last week, I had to order the tall skinny candles called All Aglow. I went with the stamps, die, stencils and also the Make A Wish sentiment dies. Here's my first take on it.

I watched Angelica's tutorial HERE which was very helpful. I wasn't real thrilled with my distress ink color choices and want to do another card in happier colors! I'm entering this into the Seize the Birthday challenge (without the "topping" this time). I love that this challenge helps me keep my birthday stash stocked!

STAMPS: Make A Wish (The Greetery).
INK: Barn Door, Vintage Photo, Aged Mahogany, Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade, Crackling Campfire, Chipped Sapphire, Uncharted Mariner, Picked Raspberry. Saltwater Taffy, Peacock Feathers, Salvaged Patina distress ink; Harvest Gold (Papertrey Ink dye ink).
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface.
DIES: Make A Wish, All Aglow (The Greetery); Blueprint 27 (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: All Aglow stencils (The Greetery); Moonshine sequins (PTI).

That's it for now. Maybe another card with some new things from Simon Says Stamp. :-)  ~Wanda

Back Packin'

I was in the mood to assemble a couple of the adorable gift card holder backpack dies from Papertrey Ink after viewing Tina Smith's awesome tutorial. Though I had made them before, I wanted to refresh my memory and ended up using a lot of the same colors that Tina used. If you haven't watched her videos before, you really must! Check it out HERE.

I am also joining in The Paper Players challenge which is a fun tic-tac-toe challenge by Anne Marie. I went with the top row across: bright colors, layers, embossing (wet or dry). The dry embossing is subtle with the stitching details and the definition around the zipper and sentiment panel. I will give these cards to my grands to use for their teachers if they wish.

STAMPS: Go-To Gift Card Holder Backpack Accessories (PTI).
INK: Pure Poppy, Fine Linen, Classic Kraft, Dark Chocolate dye inks by Papertrey Ink; Antique Linen, Hickory Smoke, Prize Ribbon, Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin, Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron distress inks; Versamark; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Patterned paper by Recollections; White, Spring Rain, Enchanted Evening (PTI); Glossy Silver card stock.
DIES: Go-To Gift Card Holder Backpack (PTI); Blueprints 27 and Banner Flag STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Altenew Pure White embossing powder.

That's it for now. It's another dismal chilly Monday in VA! No school today so it's a "Nana day" for 2 of my grands - ages 6 and 8. Thanks so much for stopping by!  ~Wanda
