Word Art Wednesday

Hello friends! A new month and a new Word Art Wednesday challenge is up and running. Poppystamps is our sponsor and will give away a $25 gift card to a randomly drawn participant. I do not own any products from this company, so used items from Creative Worship Stamps for my take on Ephesians 6:10. The word "finally" marks the conclusion of the Apostle Paul's letter to the Ephesians. They are told not to draw strength from themselves, but from the Lord. This verse introduces the famous passage on the "Armor of God" which prepares us to stand firm again spiritual challenges.

The flowers and butterfly were clear embossed then colored with distress inks by smooshing ink onto an acrylic block, spritzing with water then picking up with small brush to "paint" the images.

STAMPS: Patient Echinacea, Texture Tiles 6, Texture Tiles 1 (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: New Leaf, Pinefeather, Ocean Tides, Simply Chartreuse, Honey Nut (Papertrey Ink); Versafine Clair Nocturne; Peacock Feathers, Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron distress (Ranger).
PAPER: Fine Linen, Rustic Cream, Stampers Select White (PTI).
DIES: Patient Echinacea (CWS); Love to Layer: Notebook (PTI); Crimped Frames (The Greetery).
OTHER: Leaf Fronds stencil (CWS); Watercolor Wonderful stencil (PTI); Clear embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you in the gallery!  ~Wanda

Word Art Wednesday - 9/30

Welcome to our last Word Art Wednesday challenge in September! Our verse is from Roman's 4:7. Paul is quoting from King David, a hero of the people of Israel. His purpose is to show that Old Testament Scriptures have always pointed to faith—not good works or deeds—as the path to being declared righteous by God as his gift to those who believe.

I created this 5"x7" card size so I could include the two sunflowers from Papertrey Ink's die set. AND... I totally forgot our sponsor is Creative Worship Stamps so, I made another card using their products. The florals were die cut from Bristol Smooth Surface paper and color blended with brushes. I splattered with gold paint.

INK: Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Honey Nut, Cocoa Bean, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Park Bench 6x6" pad (Fancy Pants Designs); Stampers Select White, Bright Buttercup (PTI); Bristol Smooth Surface.
DIES: Into the Blooms: Sunflowers, Love to Layer: Arches (PTI);  Scalloped Arches (Simon Says Stamps); Master Layouts 08 (Gina K Designs).
OTHER: Gold gems; Gold paint (Gansai Tambi Starry Colors palette).

Here is my second card using stamps & dies from Creative Worship Stamps. They are giving away a $25 gift card to some blessed participant who plays along with the challenge.

The background panel was in my leftover pile and was spritzed with distress inks then splattered with white paint. The daisy was a printable from CWS. The full verse is on the inside.

STAMPS: Entomology Elements, Vintage Snippets (Creative Worship Stamps); Leaves in Fall (Papertrey Ink) - used for sentiment.
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Limeade Ice, New Leaf (PTI) - used on leafy sprigs.
PAPER: Watercolor (Ranger); Classic Kraft, True Black (PTI).
DIES: Entomology Elements, Foliage, Stitched Pockets, Film Strip (Creative Worship Stamps).
OTHER: Oval punch (Stampin' Up).

Hope to see you in the gallery!  ~Wanda

Word Art Wednesday 9/16

Hello and welcome to a new Word Art Wednesday challenge! Karen has chosen Proverbs 19:17. I was a rebel once again and rewrote the verse in a Word document using NIV translation. I personally find it easier to understand as compared to the "old language". Gina K Designs is sponsoring this challenge with a $25 gift card up for one lucky participant! I used Gina K's Master Layouts 08 to die cut the strips and the layered rectangles for the sentiment.

STAMPS: None.
INK: Sweet Blush, Melon Berry, Bright Buttercup, Amethyst Allure, Blueberry Sky, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Sweet Blush, Melon Berry, Spring Moss, New Leaf, Stampers Select White (PTI).
DIES: Into the Blooms: Wild Wood (PTI); Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover die (Altenew); Gina K Designs Master Layouts 08.

Hope to see you in the gallery!  ~Wanda

WAW Eucalyptus

Welcome to another Word Art Wednesday challenge! This time we are featuring Proverbs 16:32. I recreated the verse in a Word document to modernize some of the wording and used the English Standard Version. Since the Stamp Simply company is sponsoring this challenge, I used their Eucalyptus Silhouettes stamp/die set for my card.

I'm continuing to whittle away at my leftover pile and had a lot of extra eucalyptus sprays already stamped using distress inks. The background was already made using the Coverplate Exquisite die over soft stone paper.

STAMPS: Eucalyptus Silhouettes (Stamp Simply).
INK: Variety of distress inks.
PAPER: Stampers Select, Soft Stone (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Eucalyptus Silhouettes (Stamp Simply); Coverplate Exquisite,  Love to Layer: Ovals (PTI).

Word Art Wednesday Echinacea

Welcome to another Word Art Wednesday challenge! (NOTE: Thanks to those who let me know my link wasn't correct. It's now fixed!) I went with stamps/stencils/dies from Creative Worship Stamps to create this multimedia card. I printed the verse at 45% of the size.

I started by using a sea sponge and sponged the background with Worn Lipstick, Saltwater Taffy, Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint distress inks. I used stamps from Vintage Snippets and Texture Tiles 3 sets. The flower was colored with an aqua painter using above distress inks. I used Liquitex light modeling paste with a diamond mesh stencil (hard to see in the photos).

Word Art Wednesday

Welcome to another Word Art Wednesday challenge. I chose to use one of many acrylic scripture stamps in my stash from Papertrey Ink which rarely get inked up. It's been weeks since I've made a card due to ongoing hospitalization of my husband and then his eventual passing on May 18. The verse is from Romans 15:13 and focuses on the hope we can have when we trust in God.

STAMPS: Reflections: July (Papertrey Ink).
INK: New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Pinefeather, Lovely Lady, Berry Sorbet, Bright Buttercup, Raspberry Fizz (Papertrey Ink); Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink.
PAPER: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Into the Blooms: Roses, Reflections: July (Papertrey Ink); Crimped Slimline die (The Greetery).
OTHER: Clear enamel dots (Waffle Flower).

I die cut all the roses and leaves from Vintage Cream paper then color blended with brushes using dye inks. I splattered leaves with Pinefeather ink and the roses with Razzberry Fizz ink.

Here's hoping you can join us in this challenge. Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Word Art Wednesday

Welcome to another Word Art Wednesday! We are nearing Father's Day and this verse references "mighty men". I computer printed the verse at 50% size onto some patterned paper. I die cut the background using a torn edge die then sponged the edges with Enchanted Evening ink. I stenciled with the burlap stencil using Broken China distress ink. All the images were from Tim Holtz' The Journey stamp set. It included 2 arrow stamps which fit the verse perfectly.

STAMPS: The Journey (Tim Holtz Visual Artistry Collection).
INK: Broken China distress (Ranger); Enchanted Evening (PTI).
PAPER: Vintage Shabby 12x12 pad (Tim Holtz idea-ology); Stampers Select White (PTI).

Word Art Wednesday Ps. 147:4

Good Wednesday everyone! Welcome to another Word Art Wednesday challenge with Psalm 147:4 as our inspiration verse. It's all about stars so that made it easy to begin.
I stenciled the background with Speckled Egg distress ink using the Night Sky Background stencil from Papertrey Ink. I then die cut the middle sized frame called Border Bling: Skinny Star (PTI). The silver glitter, silver mirror and silver matte stars were die cut with an old die set by My Favorite Things. I computer generated the sentiment at 45% on Sno-Cone paper by Cardstock Warehouse Paper Company.

Hope you can play along for a chance to win a gift card from our generous sponsor! Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Word Art Wednesday Luke 6:38

It's the first Word Art Wednesday challenge in May and we have the verse from Luke 6:38 as our inspiration. I reprinted the verse using the NIV version (it was just a clearer interpretation for me personally). It references the word measure at least 3 times, so I knew I wanted to use the measuring tape stamp from the Vintage Snippets stamp set from Creative Worship Stamps. I ran a piece of kraft paper through my crimper and dry embossed a scrap of vellum using a brick embossing folder. I brushed some Antique Linen distress ink on the measuring and crimped panels and also brushed the edges of the sentiment oval.

Once again, I used the Diamond Mesh stencil from CWS with Peacock Feathers distress ink for the card background. Some thread and some yellow enamel dots finished it off. I colored the butterfly with Copics then sprayed with Sheer Shimmer "Sparkle" craft spray.

STAMPS: Made New, Vintage Snippets (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Antique Linen, Peacock Feathers distress; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Classic Kraft, vellum (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Made New (CWS); Love to Layer: Beautiful Bracket (PTI).
OTHER: Diamond Mesh stencil (CWS); thread; enamel dots; Brick & Mortar embossing folder (Stampin' Up).

We'd love to have you play along for a chance to win a gift card to our sponsor for this challenge! Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Word Art Wednesday April 15

The weeks are rolling by in April and it's time once again for a new Word Art Wednesday challenge! This time we have a verse from Psalm 4:8 for our inspiration. The verse is part of a psalm written by David, likely during a time of intense personal distress.  It emphasizes finding rest and security in God's sovereignty, rather than relying on external circumstances. The "peace" mentioned is a direct result of trusting in God's presence.

It doesn't show up well in the photos but I sprayed the butterflies with Sheer Shimmer "Sparkle" spray which gives them a fun sheen IRL.

STAMPS: Made New (Creative Worship Stamps); Verse printed at 60% size.
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black.
PAPER: Bloom & Wild 6x6 pad (Craft Consortium); X-Press It Blending Card; Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Made New (Creative Worship Stamps); Extravagant Floral Frames (PTI).
COPICS: B00, B02, B24, YG00, Y18, R20, RV02, RV04.

We have another generous sponsor for this challenge and you only have a chance to win if you join us and enter a card! Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!  ~Wanda
