Color Throwdown Challenge

It's a special week of celebrating Thanksgiving here in the US and yours truly is this week's hostess for the Color Throwdown Challenge! Though I thought the inspiration photo was rather cute months ago, I'll admit I was a bit stumped at my own colors of yellow, orange, red and brown.  I browsed through a box of miscellaneous stamps that I accumulated many years ago, and this rubber stamp image from Lili of the Valley Ltd from the UK caught my eye.  I colored with Copics and thought this polka dotted paper from My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland 6x6 pad would be a perfect background for the image!

STAMPS: Bitty Banners (Reverse Confetti), Girl w/Daisy (Lili of the Valley.
DIES: Bitty Banners, Gift Card Holder Tag and Hang Ups - all by Reverse Confetti.  Stitched rectangle borders by Lil' Inker Designs.

We'd love to have you join us in the challenge this week!  For more details on how to play along, head over to the Color Throwdown blog and you'll find the information on the right sidebar.  You can also visit the rest of the design team's creations for more inspiration by clicking on the links below:

Color Throwdown 186

It's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge and Danielle has come up with a scrumptious combination for us!  Here's my card using a Lili of the Valley image...

I used SU's striped EF for the BG and colored the image with Copics.  I love these PTI tags to add a small sentiment to a card and find myself using them over and over!

We'd love to have you join us! No worries if you don't have the exact colors... feel free to substitute colors that are close! Make a card or paper crafted project and post it to your blog or online gallery. Then use the direct link and link it to the Color Throwdown blog using the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of the CTD post. If you post to an online gallery, please use CTD186 as your keyword.

So...are you ready to be inspired?? Check out what the other CTD designers, along with our talented April guestie, Julia Aston, have created!  Check it out HERE.

Dog Days of Summer

To celebrate those hazy, lazy dog days of summer, the Bar-Tenders are challenging you to create a dog-themed card at Raise the Bar! I inked up this image from Lili of the Valley and colored with Copics. Though my baby girl is 23 y.o., this picture brought back memories of her in the summer in our backyard swing...always with an animal nearby. The layout is for Jen Del Muro's August Sketch For You To Try challenge. I doodled a frame using a Tombow marker (472). I nearly ditched this card because the colors just didn't make me happy, but didn't have the energy to do it over after a LONG day of chores!

STAMPS: Small Phrases (Verve) - sentiment; Lili of the Valley
PAPER: My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose "Gertie" DP, Blue Bayou, So Saffron, White
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black
ACCESSORIES: Corner chomper, Plaid EF (Sizzix), Charming oval dies by Verve, Pearls, Star border Die-namic by MFT, Copics.

Raise the Bar is BAAACK!

After a summer break, the bar tenders at Raise the Bar are back with their weekly challenges! Joni says "anything goes" this week, so that makes it easy peasy! I inked up a sweet, new (to me) image by Lili of the Valley and colored it with Copics. I used Karen Giron's layout for her Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge...an easy one that I tweaked a bit by flipping the trio of buttons to the opposite side plus I added an oval sentiment for balance. TGIF and thanks for stopping by and commenting!

STAMPS: Lili of the Valley
PAPER: For the Record by Echo Park, Black, White
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black
ACCESSORIES: Satin ribbon, Buttons, Copics, Oval punches by SU.
