3-for-1 Challenge Card

I'm entering this into three different challenges:

1. Paper Funday - sketch.

2. Seize the Birthday -  add a sentiment strip.

3. The Card Concept - inspired by colors and sunflowers.

 

After stamping the images with Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink on X-Press It Blending Card, I clear embossed to make it easier to color with Copics. 

The glare from the embossing is always difficult to photograph. I stenciled dots on the kraft base and after an ink malfunction in the top left corner, I opted to camouflage it with a corner punch! :-/

The Card Concept

 

I love all shades of green, so couldn't pass up this challenge at The Card Concept to use monochromatic greens. I was inspired by the colors and also the greenery arrangements. I used three different stencils to create the background, then added a sentiment. A very quick and easy card to create!

CAS Sand Dollar

 

A quick and easy design using the new layout for Freshly Made Sketches and also drawing inspiration with colors and sea theme for The Card Concept challenge. The sand dollar is a long time retired die from Reverse Confetti as is the sentiment set. Patterned papers are also old - Linen Closet pack from DCWV.

Always Remember

Good Friday everyone! I went with a patriotic card with thoughts of the upcoming Memorial Day holiday that works for two different challenges: Freshly Made Sketches and The Card Concept.  I used patterned papers for the background panels then dry embossed stars onto kraft paper.

I was especially inspired by the colors, the tiny stars in the quilted runner and just the patriotic theme in general.

Hollyhocks Are Blooming!

I had quite a time assembling these hollyhocks (the dies are not easy!) but I hung in there and created this card for The Card Concept challenge inspired by the floral heart photo.  I'm also using the layout for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I decided to use distress ink colors to color blend the florals after cutting them from Bristol Smooth paper.

Winter Solace

 

One of my favorite challenges is back for the new year! The Card Concept #213 is having a winter solace theme. I was inspired by the sparkly winter trees and the deer and created this snowy scene using Papertrey Ink stamps and dies using the clean and layered style. I splattered the blended background using white gouache paint. A glue pen was used to "scribble" some snow drifts then fine glitter was added.

The sentiment is from the Vintage Lantern stamp set. The deer and sentiment were popped up with foam tape.

Fall Florals

 

Tis the season to be fall-y! :-) I wanted to join in The Card Concept challenge which has a fall florals theme along with some gorgeous colors. I also wanted to include a touch of black and white gingham on this clean and layered card. I combined the Floral Arches stencils and stamps with the Arched Sentiments stamp set from The Greetery.

Hello Summer

Hello summer...the theme for this beautiful inspiration photo for the current The Card Concept challenge. I was definitely inspired by the turquoise and white quatrefoil design and also the black and white stripes on the pillows. I'm needing some thank you cards so it was the perfect time to whip up this card that I would call a clean and layered style.

The Card Concept Challenge

 

There is a country theme happening for the current The Card Concept challenge. I am starting to build up my Christmas stash so out came my Rustic Wood Star die set from Papertrey Ink to the rescue! Buffalo plaid always speaks to me of a country/rustic vibe happening (like you see in the bows in the photo) as does wooden objects, grapevine wreaths, etc. I was also inspired by the colors. All die cuts were cut from white cardstock then colored with brushes using a variety of dye and distress inks.

The Card Concept

 

I loved the newest inspiration photos for The Card Concept challenge and went with the "Nature Calls" option using not only plants for the focal point but the colors that were representative of the photo. I will call my style "clean layered" which gave me a chance to create another card using the new Love Grows Here card making kit from Taylored Expressions. I'm working on a gift set for my daughter who LOVES plants and also loves puns (which are many in this stamp set)! 

The stenciled brick base is from my leftover pile and I'm not sure of the ink color but would guess it's Classic Kraft from Papertrey Ink. The plants are all stamped using a variety of distress inks. The pots are stamped with Canyon Clay and Classic Kraft dye inks from PTI.

INK: See above description.

PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; White (PTI).
