Color Throwdown #661

Hello everyone! It's time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge and this week it's all about neutrals. Amy Rysavy is hosting and has chosen black, gray, cream and kraft. I was initally stumped but then I decided to go with some leafy dies and a bold sentiment.

I used the Large and the Small Marianna Vine Background dies by Poppystamps. The sentiment is one of my faves called Handwritten Thanks by The Stamp Market.

PAPER: True Black, Classic Kraft, Vintage Cream, Weathervane, Soft Stone (Papertrey Ink).

DIES: Large Marianna Vine Background + Small Marianna Vine Background (Poppystamps); Stitched Rectangle and Circle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things); Handwritten Thanks (The Stamp Market).

We would love to have you play along with us. Remember, you have a chance to be a guest star stamper if your card is randomly picked. Happy stamping!   ~Wanda

PTI Reveal Day #4

So glad you are back for another day of reveals at Papertrey Ink! Today we are introducing Feathered Friends Mini 15 stamp set and dies. It's a shorter post on this last day with a focus on an adorable new bird!

I broke away from a design for winter so I could use these patterned

papers in a mini slimline card joy fold card. This fold was recently updated and highlighted on Splitcoaststampers after Dina Kowal adapted it for a mini slimline. Here is a link to the tutorial.
I decided to have him perch on a limb from the Dear Friend stamp/die set. The inside has a sentiment that was embossed using WOW! Sunburst embossing powder and is from the Mash-up Birthday stamp/die set.

STAMPS: Feathered Friends Mini 15, Mash-up Birthday
INK: Lilac Grace, Amethyst Allure, Harvest Gold, Plum Pudding, True Black, Weathervane, Canyon Clay, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Cocoa Bean, Raspberry Fizz; Versamark
PAPER: Vintage Cream, Share Your Heart patterned paper; Bristol Smooth Surface
DIES: Feathered Friend Mini 15, Mash-up Birthday, Dear Friend, Border Bling: Diamonds
OTHER: WOW! Sunburst embossing powder

That's a wrap for reveals this month! Tomorrow at 10pm EST, the release will be available to buy at the Papertrey Ink store. Happy shopping!                                                                    ~Wanda

PTI Reveal Day #3

Hello everyone and welcome back to day three of September reveals for Papertrey Ink!  Today, we are introducing you to Farm Fresh Trees stamp set and dies and Winter Swirls stamp set and dies.

This is a fun new holiday set and I wanted to keep with a woodsy theme so used the weathered wood background stamp with kraft ink on vanilla paper. I used a Christmas plaid patterned paper for the base and layered the branched frame over it.
I added a cardinal for another pop of red helped to cover up a smudge that happened with that tree - lol! I'll bet no one has ever done that before. :-)

STAMPS: Farm Fresh Trees, Weathered Wood Background, Folky Holiday
INK: Pure Poppy, Pinefeather, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, True Black, Classic Kraft, Smokey Shadow, Cocoa Bean; Silver Lining (WPlus9)
PAPER: Christmas Plaids patterned paper by Recollections; White, Pure Poppy, Pinefeather, Vintage Cream
DIES: Farm Fresh Trees, Mix & Mat: Plaid Die, Folky Holiday

My next card is a winter scene that features the beautiful swirls set!  I also embellished with some great new sequins that will be offered in the PTI store.

PTI Reveal Day #2

Hello everyone! It's the second day of September reveals at Papertrey Ink and today we are introducing you to Feathered Friends 15 dies + Weathered Wood Background stamp + Border Bling: Snowflakes dies + Inside Greetings: Snow stamp set.

This is such a cute new chubby bird and he's loving his perch of new twigs, sprays and poinsettia! I nearly covered up the weathered wood background but think you can see where I did some color blending before stamping the grain of the wood.

The poinsettia was color blended with Tattered Rose distress ink then splattered with Worn Lipstick.

STAMPS: Sprigs & Sprays: Holiday: Weathered Wood Background
INK: Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick, Bundled Sage, Shabby Shutter, Fossilized Amber, Weathered Wood, Stormy Sky, Chipped Sapphire, Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap distress inks; Versamark; Terracotta (PTI)
PAPER: Rustic Cream, Prairied Grass, Gold Luxe; Bristol Smooth Surface
DIES: Sprigs & Sprays: Holiday; Feathered Friends 15, Into the Blooms: Poinsettia, On the Border: Fir Branches, Border Bling: Joy
OTHER: Gold embossing powder

I have 3 cards that I created for my Featured Post on the Papertrey Ink blog and they all highlight the snowflake border die.

Here I die cut the border from Hawaiian Shores paper and adhered the individual snowflakes to an Aqua Mist diagonal frame. You get to see a glimpse of the Winter Swirl stamps in the background that we will be seeing more about tomorrow.
The diagonal circle die was popped up with foam tape. I wanted the sentiment die to sparkle so I die cut it from heavy weight silver glitter paper.

STAMPS: Winter Swirls
INK: Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers distress inks by Ranger
PAPER: Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, White; Glitter card stock
DIES: Border Bling: Snowflakes, Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border, Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles, Tag Sale: Quilted die (banner); Stitched rectangle & circle

This card uses the remaining negative spaces of the snowflake panel which I lined with a green plaid glittery cardstock. I die cut the middle sized die from the Pierced Feature Frames set and the center of the frame fits perfectly inside the snowflake border die! Yay!

I love this sweet sentiment which I added to the "outside" even though it's called an "inside" greeting. I wanted to embellish with a white poinsettia that has a very subtle sponging of Bundled Sage distress ink. The finishing touch was adding coarse glitter by Martha Stewart to the edges.

I looped a double figure 8 with gold cording and adhered it to the card using a medium glue dot. It is a continuation of the gold gems I added to the flower center.

STAMPS: Inside Greetings: Snow
INK: Bundled Sage distress ink; Hawaiian Shores, New Leaf, Ocean Tides
PAPER: Green glitter plaid; White, Hawaiian Shores
DIES: Into the Blooms: Poinsettia, Border Blingg: Snowflakes, Pierced Feature Frames
OTHER: Gold cord, Gilded gems, Coarse glitter

My last card was a simpler more masculine feel by pairing Pure Poppy with Pinefeather paper. I had difficulty taking photos and no matter how I still looks more black on my screen. :-(

The wreath and sentiment were embossed in gold and were popped with foam tape for added dimension. Isn't this the perfect greeting for a person with a birthday over the holidays?!

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Snow, Wreath Favor Box Sentiments
INK: Versamark
PAPER: Pinefeather, Pure Poppy, White
DIES: Border Bling: Snowflake, Pierced Feature Frames, Wreath Favor Box Sentiments, Banner Builders: Basic, Stitched Circle
OTHER: Gold embossing powder

That's a wrap for day two of reveals! Tune back tomorrow for more goodies from the September release!  ~Wanda

PTI Reveal Day #1

Hi friends! Are you ready to see some reveals of the September release at Papertrey Ink? Products will be available for purchase on the 22nd which is later than the usual 15th (Covid is still causing manufacturing problems). Today, we are introducing Sprigs & Sprays: Holiday stamp set and dies + Vase Collection 4 stamp and die + Into the Blooms: Poinsettias dies + Just Sentiments: Snow stamp set.

These new sprigs and sprays images are so perfect to create fall floral arrangements and they go well with the new vase that is like a hollowed out log. I shortened mine a bit so it would fit onto an A2 card base and camouflaged the "splicing" with some black twine.

I had this color blended background in my leftover pile and thought it would work well with the autumn colors. My favorite inks to blend are distress oxide inks on Bristol Smooth Surface paper.

STAMPS: Sprigs & Sprays: Holiday; Vase Collection 4, Effortless Beauties
INK: Black Soot, Weathered Wood, Crackling Campfire, Shabby Shutters, Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, Crushed Olive, Pine Needles, Evergreen Bough, Fossilized Amber, Brushed Corduroy, Antique Linen distress inks
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Soft Stone
DIES: Sprigs & Sprays: Holiday, Vase Collection 4, Cover Plate: Herringbone, Effortless Beauties
OTHER: Black twine

My second card is a slimline design and it highlights the gorgeous poinsettia dies and has some sprigs and sprays tucked in along with some snowflakes!

I wanted to have a frame on the card base so I improvised using two of the middle sized Pierced Feature Frames. Where I overlapped them in the center of the card, I covered it with the bow and the poinsettia. You can stretch your existing dies this way to create a slimline look!

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Snow, Sprigs & Sprays: Holiday
INK: Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick, Rustic Wilderness, Bundled Sage, Shabby Shutters distress inks; Versamark
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; White
DIES: Sprigs & Sprays: Holiday, Into the Blooms: Poinsettia, Starflakes, Pierced Feature Frames
OTHER: Gold embossing powder, lace, tulle, gold cord, seam binding, fine glitter

That's it for day one. Come back tomorrow for more great reveals!        ~Wanda
