3-for-1 Challenge Card

I'm entering this into three different challenges:

1. Paper Funday - sketch.

2. Seize the Birthday -  add a sentiment strip.

3. The Card Concept - inspired by colors and sunflowers.

 

After stamping the images with Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink on X-Press It Blending Card, I clear embossed to make it easier to color with Copics. 

The glare from the embossing is always difficult to photograph. I stenciled dots on the kraft base and after an ink malfunction in the top left corner, I opted to camouflage it with a corner punch! :-/

Birthday Collage

 

I fell in love with these distress colors on a card I saw on Pinterest, so I pulled them out and made a masculine birthday card. I smooshed Speckled Egg, Evergreen Bough, and Vintage Photo distress inks on the background then splattered with Ground Espresso. I stamped the tag using the Autumn Collage Tag set by Creative Worship Stamps and used the sentiment stamp from Texture Tiles 1 to the leaves before coloring. The sentiment is from the Spring Collage Tag set. I tore a small rectangular piece of kraft paper then sponged the edges with Vintage Photo ink and ran it through a crimper tool. The butterfly was die cut then stenciled - part of the Jumbo Curiosity series from The Greetery. I'm entering this into the Seize the Birthday challenge - Anything Goes.

Birthday for a Boy

 

This month our only grandson is turning 10! What? Double digits already?! I was inspired to use the colors from the Inspired By challenge. The current Seize the Birthday challenge asks us to use the "topping" related to numbers. The backgroumd was stenciled using the Mixed Up Numbers stencil. And...lastly I used the 3 elements in the far right vertical column (summer colors, border, stencil) for the Tic Tac Toe challenge.

Rose Garden Postage Collage

 

It's time to pull out some postage collage stamps/stencils/dies and this time it's all about roses! I'm entering this into the Seize the Birthday challenge where we are to make a spring garden. I'm also playing along with the Tic Tac Toe challenge where I'm using the right vertical column of floral/foliage, stencil and border.

There are 3 stencil layers to start off this collage. I then added a variety of postage elements in black ink then die cut the collage frame after all my stamping was completed.

Birthday Moth

 

I'm playing along with the current Seize the Birthday challenge to use anything with wings and also with the Just Add Ink challenge to use stencils or dies or both. I was trying to go with colors that would work for a masculine design if needed.

B & W Birthday

 

I'll have to admit...it was difficult to think of a birthday card design in only black and white! This was the requirement for the Seize the Birthday challenge. I started with a leftover black foiled background with leaves. I'm thinking it would work for a masculine, fall b-day. The sentiment was die cut twice and glued together to give added dimension. I color blended a couple of leaves for embellishments.

A fun little card to add to my birthday stash! I am entering this into two different challenges: Just Us Girls where it's Word Week: "Birthday" and for Seize the Birthday challenge where the topping is "no flowers".

Eucalyptus

 

I pulled out a seldom used PTI stamp set to create a monochromatic card with a pop of green. This is for the Seize the Birthday challenge which has a topping to use your favorite color (mine was green!). It was also inspired by the current Cupcake Inspiration challenge to use green and white.

 

I wanted to add an element of texture to the background so I die cut the Delicately Woven die from PTI. This is a tricky one as it needs to have a shim added to the sandwich plus I had to turn it several times and run it through my Big Shot about 6 times before it cleanly cut all the intricate parts!

Birthday Cupcake

 

I created this card for three different challenges:

The little bluebird and tiny florals were my inspiration to add this whimsical bird & flowers to embellish the cupcake.

 

 

I used coordinating papers from PTI's Watercolor Wonder pack. I love that it has a slight linen texture.

Another card added to my birthday stash. I used some older "stuff" from my massive supplies accumulated from around 30 years of papercrafting! I'm trying to go back and use more of my older things so this card was fun to combine older favorites.

Seize the Birthday - Silhouette

 

Good morning! This is my last time for a 2 month guest stint for the Seize the Birthday challenge and I want to thank the team for being so very gracious and a pleasure to work with! This week the topping is silhouettes. I love this look and very seldom think to use it.   

 

I started with color blending distress inks on Bristol Smooth Surface paper. My favorite black ink for a crisp outcome is Versafine Clair Nocturne. It is a pigment ink so you have to make sure it's dry before you handle it!

Seize the Birthday - Fancy Fold

 

Hello crafty friends! I'm back again as a guest designer for the Seize the Birthday Challenge and this week the topping is creating a fancy fold card. I searched for options on Pinterest and finally decided on a Z-fold card and used a tutorial by Tami White for measurements...check it out HERE!  

I started with some really old designer paper from Stampin' Up then stamped and die cut the elements for the layered cake and florals.
