Color Throwdown #613

There's a new Color Throwdown challenge happening and Broni is hosting with some beautiful fall colors: red, orange and purple! There was no question I would use the Lovely Leaves set by Ink to Paper and color with distress oxide inks.

I generally used two and sometimes three different ink colors on each of the leaves. The plaid is very subtle with Fairy Dust ink (WPlus9) on white. I wanted to accent with some fine black twigs so took the branch die from the Dear Friend set and cut a couple of them apart.

STAMPS: Nifty Plaid, Lovely Leaves, Take Your Place, Dear Friend (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Soft Stone, Stampers Select White (Ink to Paper).

INK: Seedless Preserves, Wilted Violet, Festive Berries, Barn Door, Wild Honey, Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade, Crackling Campfire (distress oxide inks by Ranger); True Black (Ink to Paper); Fairy Dust (WPlus9).

DIES: Lovely Leaves, Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border (Ink to Paper); Stitched Circle and Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

We would love to have you play along with us! Link up your creation on the Color Throwdown blog and be sure to check out the rest of the design team's creations for more inspiration!

CAS(E) This Sketch

Donna Mikasa has an awesome sketch for the new CAS(E) This Sketch challenge! My card base is Rustic White and the two small panels were stamped with Honey Nut ink and the Loosely Woven background stamp. The flowers were leftovers, so all I had to do was color blend some leaves and add the sentiment and I was done.

STAMPS: Loosely Woven, Sweet Celebration (Ink to Paper).

INK: True Black, Green Parakeet, Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, Honey Nut, Pale Peony, Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Rustic White, True Black, Bright Buttercup (Ink to Paper).

DIES: Into the Blooms (Ink to Paper), Stitched Flags STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! It's another day without the sun and we had some early morning rain happening. Cleaning is on my agenda as well as baking my husband's favorite pound cake.                                                           Enjoy!      ~Wanda

Birthday Balloons

Congrats to the Seize the Birthday challenge blog for reaching their 200th milestone! Check out their blog HERE for details of the celebration (there are prizes!). I was primarily inspired by the balloons and had full intentions to smoosh a group of colors on the background and totally forgot to do that step! DOH! I'll blame it on the distractions of a 6 year old grand-daughter! I also am using the layout for the current Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge.

I die cut the balloons from white card stock then used brushes to color blend the backgrounds. I added some detailing to the flowers with a white gel pen.

STAMPS: Balloon Bouquet (The Greetery).

PAPER: Sweet Blush, Stampers Select White, True Black, Bitty Big: Sweet Blush by Ink to Paper.

INK: True Black, Lemon Tart, Harvest Gold, Pale Peony, Hibiscus Burst, Melon Berry, Green Parakeet, Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides by Ink to Paper.

DIES: Big Balloons, Balloon Bouquet, Crimped Frames (The Greetery).

It's a rainy day in VA but it's been fun hanging out with my oldest grand-daughter while her little brother is in Pre-K and this is her "off" day from going to school in person.

Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!   ~Wanda

Freshly Made Sketches

I've had some new goodies from the last release at The Greetery and am FINALLY getting around to using them! I'm thrilled over the Shiplap Builder dies and the Mighty Oak die set! So easy and so fun! I first cut everything out with Rustic Cream cardstock then used blending brushes and a big variety of Ink to Paper dye inks.

I'm playing along with the new sketch at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. This card will be headed out to a couple who both have had major health issues recently with hospitalizations. Hoping it will brighten their day to receive a card!

STAMPS: Sentiment Suite: Thinking of You (The Greetery).

PAPER: Rustic Cream (Ink to Paper).

INK: Orange Zest, Canyon Clay, Terracotta Tile, Americana, Scarlet Jewel, Weathervane, Smokey Shadow, Aqua Mist, Bright Buttercup, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Saffron Spice, Honey Nut, Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean, Dark Chocolate (Ink to Paper).

DIES: Shiplap Builder, Botanicuts Mighty Oak, Sentiment Suite Basics (The Greetery).

My crafting room is very small and I am constantly trying to

reorganize and make the space as functional as possible. The carousel of ink pads that I previously had in front of me taking up premium desk real estate was no longer being used much and Ink to Paper inks are pretty much used all of the time now. I purchased a wooden ink pad holder from Stamp-N-Storage (Distress Ink Pad Holder 60) and placed it within easy reach. It makes life so much better - lol!

I'm on a roll so next comes my organization of paper!

Happy Thursday everyone! It looks like a cloudy day is in store for us in VA but at least it will still warm to 70 degrees.    ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #612

Another week has rolled around and there's a new Color Throwdown challenge up and running! Bar is hosting this week and has chosen colors from this gorgeous scarf: Rust, Blue, Cream, Aqua. You can add neutrals as you'd like.

I needed a retirement card, so went immediately to these stamps and dies from Altenew called Gradient Sunset.

It's very self-explanatory, so I'll just get to my supply list.

STAMPS: Gradient Sunset (Altenew).

PAPER: Neenah Smooth Solar White - 110lb.

INK: True Black, Aqua Mist, Spring Rain, Fine Linen, Terracotta Tile (Ink to Paper).

DIES: Gradient Sunset (Altenew).

We'd love to have you play along with us and hope to see you in the gallery!

CAS(E) This Sketch

Sadly, I'm needing another sympathy card and this Wild Fields set from Ink to Paper is my "go to" set here lately! I love the wispy flowers and lovely fonts on the sentiments! I'm playing along with the current CAS(E) This Sketch challenge where Chrissy Larson has a fabulous layout for us!

I pretty much used two shades of similar inks on all the flowers and leaves in a "rock and roll" technique. The background was partially stamped using the Loosely Woven background stamp with Spring Moss ink. The frame was die cut using Simply Chartreuse card stock

STAMPS: Loosely Woven, Wild Fields (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Simply Chartreuse, Vellum (Ink to Paper).

INK: Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Bright Buttercup, Harvest Gold, Cocoa Bean (Ink to Paper); Versamark.

DIES: Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border, Wild Fields (Ink to Paper).

It's a beautiful fall day and I just placed some new mums in 3 different pots outdoors and added an ornamental cabbage to another pot. My lighted twig pumpkin was also added to my kitchen entryway. Bring on fall!                           ~Wanda

Seize the Birthday

Our oldest grand daughter turns 6 next week, so this is my card for her. I went with a "go-to" birthday set from Ink to Paper called Cake Creations and am entering this into the current Seize the Birthday challenge where the recommended topping is die-cuts. The cake, plate, topper, banner and frame are all die cuts.  There is minimal stamping in the florals and the sentiment.

Here's my enabler's list...

STAMPS: Cake Creations, Feathered Friends Mini 3 (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Bitty Big: Green Parakeet, Bitty Big: Lilac Grace, True Black, Stamper's Select White (Ink to Paper).

INK: Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Lemon Tart, Harvest Gold, Lilac Grace, Plum Pudding, Lavender Moon, Amethyst Allure, Pure Black (dye inks by Ink to Paper).

DIES: Pierced Feature Frames, Cake Creations, Banner Builders Basics (Ink to Paper).

Quinn loves playing in my stamp room and I love "working" with her. I keep her full days on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and meet her at her house when she gets off the bus on Tuesday and Thursday (her only days at school). This corona virus has certainly made life interesting and I feel for the working parents who come home from a long hard day of work and then have to tackle the home schooling that is needed.

Thanks for stopping by!       ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

Hi everyone! It's time once again for another Fusion Card Challenge! This week I chose to use only the sketch and I flipped it because of the bird's position. The Feathered Friends 4 die set is part of the September release at Ink to Paper and it's one of my faves in their bird die series!

It's a very clean and simple design which started with some stenciling on the base panel with Spring Rain ink and a diamond stencil. The greenery was white embossed to appear snow-covered and the plaid strips are a new die set from Pretty Pink Posh.

STAMPS: Tree Essentials, Just Sentiments: Warmth (both by Ink to Paper).
PAPER: Plaid Patterns Merry & Bright (My Favorite Things), Garden Green (SU), Spring Rain, Stamper's Select White (Ink to Paper).
INK: Spring Rain, Enchanted Evening, Fine Linen, Canyon Clay, True Black (ITP); Versamark.
DIES: Tree Essentials, Feathered Friends 4 (Ink to Paper); Simple Strips (Pretty Pink Posh); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

We'd love to have you play along with us! Remember, you can use just the inspiration photo or just the sketch or you can create a fusion and use both!

Color Throwdown #611

Is it my imagination or are these weeks flying by? September seems to be an unusually busy month and it's time again for a new Color Throwdown challenge. I love these earthy colors chosen by our host for the week - Amy Rysavy - which were so perfect to highlight this new bird die and greenery from Ink to Paper's September release!

I had this card base prepared many months ago by layering a number of Pierced Feature Frame dies (Ink to Paper/Papertrey Ink) overlapping each other to create a geometric tone on tone textured look. I cut out all of the bird die parts from white cardstock, then color blended them with brushes. The evergreen boughs were stamped then sponged with two shades of green ink. In hind sight, I'm not sure if I like the rounded corners. Anyway...it's a clean and simple design and added another thank you card needed following my father's memorial service.

STAMPS: Tree Essentials, Just Sentiments: Warmth (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Classic Kraft (Ink to Paper).

INK: Classic Kraft, Weathervane, True Black, Canyon Clay, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse (dye inks by Ink to Paper).

DIES: Pierced Featured Frames, Tree Essentials, Feathered Friends 4 (Ink to Paper).

That's it for now. Sure would love to have you play along with us!

It's Release Day at Ink to Paper!

Tonight at 10 PM ET you will be able to order from the new release at Ink to Paper! I really love the unique holiday sets they have created, so be sure to stop by and get your order placed before they run out of stock. The little birds seem to sell out quickly each time they are released. Here's a quick card I created with some non-traditional Christmas colors.

I started by using the grunge rectangular stamp from the Joy Everyday stamp set and then randomly stamped the evergreen branch from the Tree Essentials set in all 4 ink colors listed.

STAMPS: The Joy of Noel, Tree Essentials, Joy Everyday (Ink to Paper).

INK: Spring Moss, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Ocean Tides (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Spring Moss, Ocean Tides,Vellum, Bitty Big: Spring Moss.

Ink to Paper September Reveal Day #4

It's the last day of reveals for the September Ink to Paper release and I'm excited to introduce Storybook Christmas Stamps and Dies + Feathered Friends 4 Mini Stamps and Dies + Inside Greetings: Warmth Stamps.

I have always loved to read, so this stamp set excited me as it would be perfect to pair with a book for a gift! I kept the fir branch border white to appear snow covered, plus I wanted the book colors to pop more against the red background.

STAMPS: Storybook Christmas
INK: Pure Poppy, Fine Linen, Limeade Ice, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Ripe Avocado, Pinefeather, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise
PAPER: Pure Poppy, Stamper's Select White, Vintage Cream
DIES: Storybook Christmas, On the Border: Fir

This little birdie is just the cutest and I'm hoping it will bring some sunshine to the recipient when I send it on its way! Even though this is listed as an "inside" sentiment, I chose to put it on the "cover"! When I'm thinking through a design, I try to get cues from the sentiment. In this case it mentions warmth and melting a heart, so that led me to use the sun ray die along with the color yellow. The base was stenciled with 3 different shades of yellow along with the hexagon stencil from Papertrey Ink.

STAMPS: Feathered Friends 4 Mini, Inside Greetings: Warmth, Tree Essentials
INK: Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Fine Linen, True Black, Ripe Avocado, Ocean Tides, New Leaf
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Classic Kraft, Summer Sunrise, Aqua Mist, Bitty Big: Harvest Gold
DIES: On the Border: Sunburst, Border Bling: skinny Postage, Border Bling: Diamonds, Starflakes, Feathered Friends Mini 4, Tree Essentials
OTHER: Hexagon stencils (PTI), Sequins, Black glitter tape

I hope you've been inspired over the past four days with these fabulous new products! Tomorrow evening at 10 PM, the Ink to Paper store will be open to buy these new products!

Ink to Paper September Reveal Day #3

Welcome back everybody! We're moving right along with showing you new goodies in the Ink to Paper September release! Today is day three of reveals and we are introducing Winter Wonder Stamps and Dies + O' Holy Night stamp + Border Bling: Joy Die.

I initially was going to go with a starry sky and winter landscape for my reindeer scene, then spotted a pack of different patterns of black and white washi tape and decided to create a background with it instead.  No stamping was involved. Trees were cut from a heavy weight white glitter card stock. I layered two cuts of the sentiment for more dimension.

PAPER: True Black, Stamper's Select White (ITP); White glitter card stock
DIES: Winter Wonder, Border Bling: Joy, Pierced Feature Frames (ITP)
OTHER: Washi tape

I created a pair of boxes with the new Scallop Top Gift Bag die which is so easy to assemble and so fun to decorate! I wanted a "window" to eyeball the goodies inside so added a layer of acetate prior to assembling the box. The tags were stamped with New Leaf ink using this fun grunge background and sentiment stamps from the Joy Everyday stamp set. I can't wait to try out these stamps in a card version!

STAMPS: Joy Everyday
INK: New Leaf, True Black
PAPER: Classic Kraft, Stamper's Select White; Patterned plaid
DIES: Scallop Top Gift Bag, Joy Everyday
OTHER: Acetate (to cover cut out section), Ribbon, Gold cording

My last card today showcases the lovely Border Bling: Joy die. The
wreath berries were highlighted with Glossy Accents and the star was cut from Luxe Gold card stock. The inside of the card includes the O' Holy Night stamp. --->

STAMPS: The Joy of Noel, O Holy Night (used on inside of card)
INK: Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Pure Poppy
PAPER: Hawaiian Shores, Green Parakeet, Stamper's Select White, Gold Luxe (ITP), Textured red (Bazzil)
DIES: Border Bling: Joy Frame, The Joy of Noel
OTHER: Enamel dots, Glossy Accents
