Fusion Card Challenge

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'm late with my post thanks to procrastination then a power outage this morning that lasted nearly 2 hours! It's the last Fusion Card Challenge of the year, so we hope you are able to play along with us. I used both the sketch and was inspired by the Ho Ho Ho on the banner in the photo. I didn't have any suitable stamps with gnomes or Santa Claus images, so I went to Etsy and for a sale price of $1.37, bought this delightful digi image from Lili of the Valley! It gave me a chance to color with Copics and find out how rusty I am with them...especially when using shades of red - lol!

COPICS: R05, R24, R46 (for all red areas), YG11, YG13, YG17 (for all green areas), C0, C1, C3, C5, C7 (for penguin), E31, E33, E35, E57, E79 (for reindeer), Y19, Y38, YR16 (penguin bill), E000, E00, E11, E21 (Santa's face).

I used a Clear Star gelly roll pen by Sakura to highlight the snowflakes.

P.S. I'm editing to add the Etsy link for the North Pole Ho Ho Ho digi image.

So...let's gobble till we wobble and enjoy this day!   ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #621

The year is winding down quickly and it's time again for another Color Throwdown challenge! Amy Rysavy is hosting and has chosen red, green, blue and white. I decided to combine my card sample with the Sunday Stamps sketch and also was inspired by the photo at The Card Concept challenge.

I went with the beautiful Pine Blossom stamp/die set from The Greetery.

My style for The Card Concept challenge is clean and layered and my inspiration was the plaid pillow, evergreen boughs and berries.
STAMPS: Pine Blossom, Sentiment Suite: Christmas (The Greetery).

PAPER: Christmas Plaids (6x6" pad by Recollections); Stampers Select White by Ink to Paper.

INK: Red Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Bright Buttercup, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, True Black (dye inks by Ink to Paper).

DIES: Pine Blossom, Sentiment Suite Basics (The Greetery); Stitched Rounded Rectangles and Stitched Rectangles STAX Die-Namics by My Favorite Things.

Another Christmas card is completed! Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. For more inspiration from the rest of the throwdown team, be sure and visit the CTD blog to check them out!

S'more Gift Card

I resisted at first, but seeing so many cute cards using Betsy Veldman's S'more Holiday stamp set from The Greetery with the Graham Cracker Cuts die led me to cave in - lol!

I needed several gift cards this Christmas, so this was the perfect

solution for a fun way to present money. I loved Kay Miller's release day card and basically CASEd it (you can see it here on the right).  I added the Nordic Frame layer on my card, did not do any direct stamping to the card base and changed up the sentiment. I kept my version simpler since I needed 3 identical cards.

I layered up the holly bouquet from the Budding Beauties: Winter stamp set (also from The Greetery) and cut it in half to add to the opposite corners. I lightly sponged Classic Kraft ink to the edges of the graham cracker. I only used one ink color - Fine Linen - on the marshmallows. I first stamped off before stamping the base image then inked up the shaded step with Fine Linen again.

STAMPS: S'more Holiday, Budding Beauties: Winter (The Greetery).

PAPER: Stampers Select White, Classic Kraft (Ink to Paper).

INK: Fine Linen, Classic Kraft, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Pinefeather, Cocoa Bean, Dark Chocolate, Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy dye inks from Ink to Paper.

DIES: Graham Cracker Cuts, S'more Holiday, Budding Beauties: Winter, Nordic Frames (The Greetery).

That's all for now...happy Tuesday everyone!      ~Wanda

Peace

I'm trying to complete my Christmas cards and wanted to play along with the Stock Your Stash challenge at Reverse Confetti where the theme is Holiday/Winter. This was such an easy card to complete as the paper did most of the work and no stamping was involved!

The Holly and Winter Words dies are oldies but definitely goodies from Reverse Confetti! I love offsetting two word dies to make it "pop" more. Here I layered white over Pure Poppy. The tree panel and the berries were popped up with foam tape.

PAPER: Merry 6x6" pad by My Mind's Eye; Simply Chartreuse, Pure Poppy, Stampers Select White by Ink to Paper.

DIES: Winter Words, Holly (Reverse Confetti); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things); Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border (Ink to Paper).

I hope your Monday is treating you well! The sun is out this morning but the wind has picked up again. Take care and stay safe everyone!     ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #620

It's time again for another Color Throwdown challenge and I'm hosting the colors this week. Cranberry, aqua and cream are the colors that inspired me from this lovely scarf photo!

I have to confess I started using white and was halfway through my card when I realized I should be using cream. But...it's close and I'm going with it!

I did a subtle color blending with Aqua Mist ink on the left half of the card base. The sentiment frame is gold embossed.
The cranberry ornament and the sentiment were popped up with foam tape to give added dimension.

STAMPS: Ornament Greetings, Tree Essentials (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Stampers Select White, Aqua Mist (Ink to Paper).

INK: Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Scarlett Jewel, Weathervane (Ink to Paper); Versamark.

DIES: Ornament Greetings, Tree Essentials (Ink to Paper).

OTHER: Gold embossing powder, Studio Katia crystal clear fusion sequins, Frost White All-Purpose Ink used for splatters on pine boughs.

We'd love to have you join us! I'll be looking for you in the gallery.

                                      Happy stamping!    ~Wanda

Mojo Monday

It's been WAYYYY too long since I played along with Julee's Mojo Monday challenge! I thought I'd remedy that by using this color-blended background that's been in my stash for some time.

I adhered a variety of Starflakes dies over the base, then added a vellum sentiment strip - embossed in silver. I guess you could say I was feeling the blues when I created this - lol!

I love this chubby little feathered friend who apparently has made extra visits to the bird feeder (I can relate - haha). I die cut all his parts from white card stock then color blended with brushes.

STAMPS: Tree Essentials, Just Sentiments: Warmth (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Enchanted Evening, Stampers Select White, Vellum (Ink to Paper).

INK: Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire distress oxide inks by Ranger; Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, Canyon Clay dye inks by Ink to Paper; Versamark.

DIES: Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border, Starflakes, Tree Essentials, Feathered Friends 5 (Ink to Paper).

OTHER: Silver embossing powder (SU), Pure White embossing powder (Altenew).

Thanks so much for stopping by! Stay safe and don't get blown away with this wind.                           Happy stamping!   ~Wanda

CAS(E) This Sketch

I haven't gotten to play along with some of my favorite challenges lately, so I raided my leftover pile and came up with this interpretation of the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge. It's a loose take on it because I simply went with the focal point being trees since I didn't have any fitting sentiments to create a tree shape. The alcohol ink panel was made many months ago so I don't recall the colors I used.

I popped up the alcohol ink panel with foam cut to size.

STAMPS: Sentiment Suite: Christmas (The Greetery).

DIES: Tall Pine Trees by Frantic Stamper, Inc.; Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics by My Favorite Things; Sentiment Suite Basics by The Greetery.

Hope you are having a great start to your week! We had an extremely windy day yesterday and thankfully that has tamed down a good bit today.              Happy stamping!   ~Wanda

Release Day is Here for Ink to Paper

Release day at Ink to Paper is here! At 10 PM EST the new products will be available to purchase. I have another card to share with you using this great sentiment and great new bird die.

The background has been in a my leftover pile for many months and was stenciled using texture paste tinted with Speckled Egg distress oxide ink and a modern background stencil. It's a subtle greenish blue that blends well with Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides and Pinefeather dye inks from PTI.

The bird die was color blended using the above mentioned dye inks and I layered up a trio of starflakes to pair with it. The sentiment and bird were popped up with foam tape.

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Together.

INK: Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides, Pinefeather; Speckled Egg distress ink by Ranger.

PAPER: Stampers Select White, Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides, Pinefeather.

DIES: Starflakes, Feathered Friends 6, Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border (Ink to Paper); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

OTHER: Modern Background stencil by Papertrey Ink; Light modeling paste by Liquitex.

That's it for now! It's Sunday and we have church from 10 to 11 (using Covid restrictions), lunch with our son, DIL and two grandchildren then a relaxing afternoon with more crafty time happening. Enjoy your day!                 ~Wanda

November Reveal Day #4 at ITP

Can you believe we are already on day 4 of reveals for the November release at Ink to Paper?! On the 15th at 10 PM EST, you will be able to order these awesome new stamps and dies, so get that list ready! Today we are introducing Abundant Blooms Stamp Set and Dies + Just Sentiments: Get Well Mini Stamp Set + In Stitches: Candy Swirl Dies.

You know I love flowers so this set was one that really caught my eye! It's a versatile set that can be used throughout the year.

I wanted to use warm shades of yellow for the florals and could have stopped there. But...I really wanted to add some green so, I chose some small leafy sprigs from an older set - Tag Creations: Joyful Jars - and tucked them into the bouquet.

The background was created by smooshing and splattering some Hawaiian Shores ink.

STAMPS: Abundant Blooms, Just Sentiments: Get Well, Tag Creations: Joyful Jars
INK: True Black, Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Weathervane, Hawaiian Shores, New Leaf
PAPER: Stampers Select White, Hawaiian Shores, Green Parakeet
DIES: Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Border Bling: Skinny Postage, Abundant Blooms, Stitched Rectangle

Next is another addition to the In Stitches line with a fun little peppermint set that I decided would make a cute embellishment for the Scallop Top Gift Bag.

I stitched portions of the die with two different DMC floss colors (817 and 760) then wrapped it up in a cellophane sleeve tied with bow wire. I chose the two candy colors (Berry Sorbet and Pure Poppy) pulled from the patterned candy cane striped paper.

STAMPS: Corner It: Holly, Beautiful Bouquet: Sentiments
INK: New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Pure Poppy, True Black
PAPER: Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, Stampers Select White, Text Style: Candy Cane Prints
DIES: Scallop Top Gift Bag, Beautiful Bouquet Tag Die, In Stitches: Candy Swirls

That brings us to the end of this month's release items! For more inspiration from the rest of the design team, you'll want to visit the Ink to Paper blog HERE.

November Reveal Day #3 at ITP

It's day #3 for the November release countdown at Ink to Paper! New items will be ready for purchasing on the 15th at 10:00 PM ET, so get those shopping lists ready! Today, we are introducing Vintage Lantern Stamp Set and Dies + Border Bling: Twinkle Die + Feathered Friends 6 Mini Stamp Set and Dies + Just Sentiments: Together Stamp Set.

I love using lanterns in my home decor, so got very excited when I saw this gorgeous lantern stamp set! Even though my sentiments aren't exactly "Christmas", I intend to send these out during the holidays and wanted to use traditional colors for them.

I used only one side of the Border Bling: Twinkle die and placed metallic gold paper behind it to match the embossed gold sentiment on vellum.

I seem to have a real plaid thing going this year and loved the touch of gold in this patterned paper. This will have to be another hand delivered card due to the bulkier jingle bells which I really love to add as Christmas card embellishments!

STAMPS: Vintage Lantern
INK: Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Soft Stone, Weathervane, True Black, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Green Parakeet, Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel
PAPER: Rustic White, Vellum, Mirror Gold; Christmas Plaid 6x6" by Recollections
DIES: Border Bling: Twinkle, Vintage Lantern, Circle
COPICS: YG23, YG01, G43, YG03, G94, G07
OTHER: Gold embossing powder, Black thread, Jingle bells

My next card uses the sweet little bird in the new mini bird stamp series!

He pairs up nicely with the wreath stamp set released last month.

More jingle bells accent the wreath and they are secured with bow wire which is why you can easily shape the bow.

STAMPS: Feathered Friends Mini 6, Joyous Holiday, Just Sentiments: Together
INK: Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Ripe Avocado, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Cocoa Bean, True Black, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Weathervane
DIES: Feathered Friends Mini 6, Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles, Love to Layer: Notched (inside)
OTHER: Corner rounder, Jingle bells

Here's hoping you love these new products as much as I do! For more inspiration, check out the talented design team's creations HERE. Tune in again tomorrow for the last day of reveals!                                                                  ~Wanda
