Freshly Made Sketches

It's hump day already and time for a new Freshly Made Sketches ahand Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where we are to use patterned paper.  I used a scalloped arch die in place of the rectangle. I got carried away with the florals and should have stopped before I added top left corner sprigs. CAS is always a real challenge for me! :-/

STAMPS: Hear the Bells (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Pure Poppy, Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Bright Buttercup, Pinefeather, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Ocean Tides (PTI).
PAPER: Plaid Patterns Merry & Bright (My Favorite Things); Stampers Select White (PTI).

Christmas in September

Concord & 9th is the featured company for the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge to create a Christmas in September project. Of course, I had to go with Kristina Werner's products - always a fave!

I highlighted the berries with Scarlet Jewel ink to give them a more natural look. I wanted a small "Christmas" word so went with a portion of a Merry Christmas stamp from The Greetery.

STAMPS: Merry Greetings Builder Stamps (Kristina Werner with Concord & 9th); Sentiment Suite: Christmas (The Greetery).
INK: Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel (Papertrey Ink); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Christmas/Noel patterned paper (Recollections); Stampers Select White, Pure Poppy, Limeade Ice (PTI).
DIES: Merry Greetings Builder, Gentle Berries Stem Layering (Kristina Werner with Concord & 9th); Simple Strips (Pretty Pink Posh); Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things).

Summertime Blues

I'm playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which has the Summertime Blues as a theme and Pinkfresh Studio is their featured sponsor. I am trying to "spread the love" more and use some older stamps in my stash. These stamps, dies, stencils are from Pinkfresh Studio and the background frame is a die set from Papertrey Ink.

I clear embossed the butterfly after stamping with a black pigment ink. It makes it so much easier to stay in the lines when coloring with an aquapainter brush.

STAMPS: Joyful Day, Forever In Our Hearts (Pinkfresh Studio).
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Shabby Shutters, Salvaged Patina, Peeled Paint, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, Prize Ribbon, Peacock Feathers distress inks (Ranger).
PAPER: Hammermill White; Watercolor paper (Ranger); Green plaid glitter paper (? source).
DIES: Joyful Day, Forever In Our Hearts (Pinkfresh Studio); Pierced Feature Frames (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: Joyful Day stencil collection; Clear embossing powder.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by! ~Wanda

Gardenias For Bride-To-Be

Here is my CASE of a card I had saved on Pinterest. I do not know who to give tribute to for the idea but I pretty much kept everything the same except for the background die and using a damask stencil rather than an embossing folder. I really love the This is Big Sentiments: Celebrate stamps and dies that cover nearly every occasion you can imagine! I was very limited in my 'bride to be' shower card options. I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which has a "fabulous florals" theme this week.

STAMPS: This is Big Sentiments: Celebrate (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse (PTI); Rocky Slope (Pinkfresh Studio).
PAPER: Stampers Select White, Sweet Blush (PTI).
DIES: This is Big Sentiments: Celebrate, Into the Blooms: Gardenia, Wrap It Ribbons (PTI); Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Damask Pattern stencil (Creative Worship Design); Silver embossing powder (Stampin' Up).

Thanks so much for stopping by! It's been a VERY hot day again in VA!  ~Wanda

In between multiple football bowl games, I managed to crank out this card using stamps/dies/stencils from The Greetery. This is a favorite floral frame of mine! INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Spring Moss, Simple Chartreuse, Lovely Lady, Berry Sorbet, Melon Berry (Papertrey Ink).

Think Pink

Being a breast cancer survivor for 7 years, I am always jumping at a chance to spread the word for ladies to get their mammograms yearly! To recognize breast cancer awareness month, the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge has a "think pink" challenge for us. To add to my Christmas stash, I made a couple of cards using products that Kristina Werner designed last year for Concord & 9th. I LOVE the berries stencils and dies collection and went with some non-traditional colors for Christmas.

STAMPS: Merry Christmas Builder Stamps (Concord & 9th).
INK: Candy Violet (Pinkfresh Studio).

Blooming Beauties

Good Thursday morning! I finished this card yesterday using the new Blooming Beauties flower/die set just released from Papertrey Ink. Did I need more flowers? Probably not, but these just kept calling out my name. It's sold out in many places but I found some at Scrapbook.com. I also recently watched Jennifer McGuire's YouTube tutorial (from 7 years ago) on the watercolor block stamping technique. She had a few additional tips that were helpful from what I previously had tried using distress inks and acrylic blocks. I'm entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where anything goes this week.

STAMPS: Blooming Beauties (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry distress inks (Ranger); Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse (Papertrey Ink); Versafine Clair Nocturne.

DIES: Blooming Beauties (PTI); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

SSS Wednesday Challenge

The new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is happening and they are asking us to create a CAS design. Hero Arts is the sponsor and I have very few products from that company. I went with an old chrysanthemum die and layered it over a color blended background.

The hello sentiment from Papertrey Ink was die cut twice to add more dimension.

INK: Bright Buttercup, Orange Zest, Amethyst Allure (PTI).

That's a wrap for today. Thanks for stopping by.  ~Wanda

SSS Wednesday Challenge

Simon Says Stamp: Get In Shape featuring Altenew... the new SSS Wednesday Challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp blog! I'm also entering this into the Sunday Stamps challenge with a color palette to follow (using at least 3 colors) and also at Seize the Birthday challenge to use something new.

One of my newest stamps/dies/stencils is a collection from Altenew called Zero-Waste Chocolate Flowers. Four layering stencils give you a square sheet of many florals and leaves which you die cut using one huge die that cuts them all at once! It's a genius concept!

I wanted to use the largest banner die for the card base and cut out 3 white banners. The bottom panel was scored about 3/8" from the top then adhered to the front panel using Score Tape. It then is able to stand like an easel (sorry I forgot to photograph that view).

STAMPS: Chocolate Flowers background set (Altenew); Sentiment Suite: Birthday (The Greetery).
INK: Winter Wisteria, Vintage Jadeite, Ocean Tides, New Leaf, Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Harvest Gold, Melon Berry (Papertrey Ink); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stampers Select White (PTI).
DIES: Zero-Waste Chocolate Flowers (Altenew); Sentiment Suite Basics (The Greetery); A2 Nested Pendant Etched (Photoplay Paper); Cover Plate: Quilted (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: Satin ribbon; Brad.

SSS Wednesday Challenge

"Anything Goes" is the theme for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. Gina K Designs is sponsoring the challenge. This simple card uses products from several different companies.

The vines were cut from white paper then splattered with aqua ink. I also cut vines from heavy weight vellum.

INK: Aqua Mist (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Bitty Big: Aqua Mist, Stampers Select White (PTI); Metallic silver.
DIES: Wrap It Ribbons (PTI); Large Mariana Vine Background + Outline dies and Small Mariana Vine Background + Outline dies by Poppystamps; Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics + Celebrate sentiment (My Favorite Things).
