Color Throwdown

It's Wednesday and you know what that means...it's time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge! Barbara Anders is our hostess this week and has chosen pink, gray and kraft for our colors. I really love this bedroom ensemble and am saving the idea for our future bedroom remodel that is next on our renovation list.

I had intentions of creating a sympathy card with this subdued, rather neutral combo, then needed a sentiment that wouldn't cover up too much.  This one from PTI's Boutique Borders: Sympathy stamp set by Dawn McVey was perfect! I used Spun Sugar distress ink to create a watercolor wash on the card base.  Over that is a die cut panel using PTI's Quatrefoil Cover Plate die.  The floral stamps are from Altenew's Hisbiscus Bouquet stamp set with matching dies.  I used Spun Sugar distress ink for the flowers and Warm Wool dye ink for the leaves and Silver Lining dye ink - both by WPlus9 - for the image outlines.  The sentiment die banner is from PTI's Tag Sale Quilted Die set.

Irish Blessing

I have a really quick card and post for the current Paper Players challenge where Sandy has a great sketch for us this week!  I still had some remnants of really old shamrock patterned paper and don't know the source (? Recollections).  The sentiment is from Verve's Blessings stamp set.

Watercolor Rose

I got a request from a coworker for two cards - a sympathy and a birthday. I was short on time, so did an assembly line process with essentially the same elements except the sentiments were different.  I love these Floral Fantasy dies by Altenew that make it so easy to create a dimensional look!  I watercolored with Mijello Mission Gold paints then die cut and added to the card.  The striped paper is from MFT's Black and White Stripes 6x6 pack.

Here is the sympathy version...

DIES: With Sympathy (Simon Says Stamp); Happy Trio (WPlus9); Floral Fantasy (Altenew).

Anything Goes...and Blog Giveaway!

Sadly, my time as a 'Fetti Friend is winding to a close after two months of guest designing for Reverse Confetti.  I wanted to say a big THANK YOU to Jen and her design crew for having me!  I totally loved the January release and my card today shows stamps from the Kindness Cards and Something Wonderful sets.

The florals were colored with markers directly colored on the stamp than applied to the paper after "huffing" over it.  The matching die makes it so quick and easy as opposed to fussy cutting.  The background paper is from RC's Forever My Love 6x6 pad.

To share my love of Reverse Confetti, I'm offering a blog giveaway of the Kindness Cards stamp set and matching dies!  No requirements necessary other than commenting on this post.  After 3 days, I will pick a winner using random.org!

Thanks for stopping by and remember to comment for a chance to win free stamps and dies!

Alpaca My Scarf

A fun card for the Simon Says Wednesday challenge which is to create your own background. I'm also using Chrissy Larson's clean and simple layout for the current CAS(E) This Sketch challenge

SSSWC is sponsored by Lawn Fawn, so I chose their fun little Winter Alpaca set to ink up and color with Copics.  I used Iced Aqua cardstock by Reverse Confetti for the card base and background ink.  This brings back great memories of the year I purchased this stamp set after our daughter traveled to Peru and had some funny alpaca stories!

DIES: Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical die by PTI; Stitched Rectangle STAX by MFT; Winter Alpaca by Lawn Fawn.

Freshly Made Sketches

A quick and easy card for the new Freshly Made Sketches challenge! This was my first time to use MFT's Happy Birthday Circle Die-Namics and it paired well with the celebratory Cheers, Stars and Wine Service dies - also by MFT.  No stamping involved!  I used Sour Apple CS, Black Licorice CS and Calm and Cozy Chevron patterned paper by MFT, Iced Aqua CS by Reverse Confetti and White CS by PTI.

Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting...have a blessed Thursday!

Color Throwdown

Hello everyone! Are you ready for another Color Throwdown Challenge? Amy Rysavy is our hostess and was inspired by the colors in this lovely home decor: light purple, dark purple, off white and brown.  I'm also playing along with a flipped version of the current Sketch Saturday Challenge #501.

I used 3 different patterned papers from the Paper House
"ColorWays" 6x6 pad and white embossed 3 feathers from Waltzingmouse Stamps' Fine Feathers retired stamp set.  The Small Hello die (a stack of three die cuts) is by Simon Says Stamp and the tiny Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX dies are by My Favorite Things. The card base is Rustic Cream cardstock by PTI.

Irish Blessing

How do you share your cards? Are you one that mails them out frequently or do you have other outlets? I donate cards for fundraisers - mostly through our church - and also donate a large container with about 2 dozen cards at our annual Christmas brunch at work.  I keep a basket of cards on the table in the nurses' station where I work and have them for sale. This helps to reimburse my habit...errr...hobby - lol!  Yesterday, one of the nurses asked about St. Patrick's Day cards.  I have very few stamp options for this holiday, but I do have two Irish blessing stamps from Verve's Blessings stamp set.  I'm featuring one of them of my card today.

I accented the quote with florals from Reverse Confetti's Blooms 'n Buds stamp set and die cut them with matching dies.  The background was a leftover panel from a day I was experimenting with alcohol inks.  Here's what else I used...

STAMPS: Blessings (Verve), Blooms 'n Buds (Reverse Confetti).
PAPER: Enchanted Evening (PTI), Cucumber Crush (SU), White (PTI).
INK: Cucumber Crush, Dapper Denim, Night of Navy (SU), Bumblebee, Tangerine (Reverse Confetti).
DIES: Striped Sentiment Strip Cover Die-Namic (MFT), Stitched Circles Die-Namics (MFT), Blooms 'n Buds (Reverse Confetti).

Anything Goes with Reverse Confetti

It's the weekend (YAY!!) and I've got a card to share that again shows how I up-cycled some puzzle pieces to use as embellishments to pair with this fun sentiment from Reverse Confetti's Heart Filled Sentiments stamp set!  My daughter is a fan of any punny cards, so this one went to her for Valentine's Day.

I painted the puzzle pieces with Liquitex Bright Aqua Green acrylic paint color then splattered them with yellow gold paint from Gansai Tambi Starry Colors palette.

Here's what I used:
STAMPS: Heart Filled Sentiments (Reverse Confetti)
PAPER: White, Black, Lime Green CS (Reverse Confetti)
INK: Versamark
DIES: Lacy Scallop Circles, Tag Me, Triple Chevies, Double Panel Hearts - all by Reverse Confetti
