Peachy Roses

I'm using the sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and was inspired by the peaches and  cream tones in the inspiration photo for the Cupcake Inspirations challenge. Out of the large amount of patterned papers in my stash, I could not find anything that matched these peach colors. So, I went with a leopard print!

Word Art Wednesday Luke 6:38

It's the first Word Art Wednesday challenge in May and we have the verse from Luke 6:38 as our inspiration. I reprinted the verse using the NIV version (it was just a clearer interpretation for me personally). It references the word measure at least 3 times, so I knew I wanted to use the measuring tape stamp from the Vintage Snippets stamp set from Creative Worship Stamps. I ran a piece of kraft paper through my crimper and dry embossed a scrap of vellum using a brick embossing folder. I brushed some Antique Linen distress ink on the measuring and crimped panels and also brushed the edges of the sentiment oval.

Once again, I used the Diamond Mesh stencil from CWS with Peacock Feathers distress ink for the card background. Some thread and some yellow enamel dots finished it off. I colored the butterfly with Copics then sprayed with Sheer Shimmer "Sparkle" craft spray.

STAMPS: Made New, Vintage Snippets (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Antique Linen, Peacock Feathers distress; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Classic Kraft, vellum (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Made New (CWS); Love to Layer: Beautiful Bracket (PTI).
OTHER: Diamond Mesh stencil (CWS); thread; enamel dots; Brick & Mortar embossing folder (Stampin' Up).

We'd love to have you play along for a chance to win a gift card to our sponsor for this challenge! Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Bible Journaling

I haven't done any Bible journaling in a few days. I was inspired after working on a card for a Word Art Wednesday challenge coming in June. The verses are from a portion of Psalm 127. I started with a brick stencil from Tim Holtz. I added flowers, hearts and the one arrow from Papertrey Ink's With Love stamp set. Coloring was with Prismacolor pencils. Ink was Versafine Onyx Black. Canyon Clay ink (PTI) used with bricks and Terracotta Tile (PTI) used for hearts. The two straight arrows are from The Journey stamp set by Tim Holtz.

These verses brought back a fond memory of my parents saying "their quiver is full" whenever they described a couple not planning on having anymore children.  💖

HB Collage Card

I needed to decompress after a stressful week, so I hit up my crafting room after a discouraging visit with my husband who is battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia and has been hospitalized for over a month. I'm entering this card into the Just Add Ink challenge where we are to use dies or stencils or both. I used both with products from Creative Worship Stamps.

I smooshed Stormy Sky and Salty Ocean distress inks onto Bristol Smooth Surface paper. After drying with a heat gun, I then stamped the music, dots, measuring tape and script with Versafine Clair Nocturne. Next, I used the single damask stencil with Liquitex light modeling paste. The butterfly was clear embossed and colored with distress inks and an aquapainter.

STAMPS: Spring Collage Tag, Wonderful Words of Life, Made New, Texture Tiles 6, Vintage Snippets (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Stormy Sky, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Peeled Paint distress inks (Ranger); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Black Licorice (Lawn Fawn); Stampers Select White (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Spring Collage Tag, Made New (Creative Worship Stamps); Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things).

HOPE

Another card using a "hope" theme similar to one I posted yesterday. I used distress ink spray stains (Worn Lipstick & Bundled Sage) and kept the sprays very light and also sprayed some water for less intense colors. I built up the background using a wonky stitch stamp from Sew Many Stitches, Typewriter Keys Caps Alpha, Vintage Snippets, Faith Definitions ("hope") - all from Creative Worship Stamps.

The focal point is a flower and leaves from the newly released Your Friendship stamp/die set. I gold embossed then colored with Copics. I wanted the gold to tie in with the gold paint splatters I added to the background.

STAMPS: Your Friendship, Faith Definitions, Sew Many Stitches, Typewriter Keys Caps Alpha, Picture This, Vintage Snippets (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK:Versamark; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface.
DIES: Your Friendship (Creative Worship Stamps); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Black thread; Queen's Gold embossing powder (Ranger); Copics.

That's all for now. Thanks for stopping by! ~Wanda

Hugs & Prayers Tag

It's a dreary, rainy Wednesday but they say our region is in a drought, so the rain is very welcomed! I got happy mail this week from the new release at Creative Worship Stamps and completed two cards using some new goodies. I had fun with the background and started with some distress spray stains - Worn Lipstick and Bundled Sage. I stamped the word "HOPE" using the Typewriter Keys Caps Alpha set. I added some elements from the Vintage Snippets set along with the "hope" definition stamp from Faith Definitions. A fun touch was stenciling dots using the Lots of Dots mini stencil. The final step was splattering some gold paint over the background.

The tag is the focal point using the Spring Collage Tag stamp/die set. I stamped the tag twice - once on a distress ink blended paper then again on X-Press It Blending Card (so I could color with Copics). I fussy cut the flower and adhered to the tag. I love the new layering die elements for the sentiment!

STAMPS: Spring Collage Tag, Texture Tiles 1, Faith Definitions, Typewriter Keys Caps Alpha, Vintage Snippets (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK:Worn Lipstick, Bundled Sage distress ink spray stains; Memento Tuxedo Black; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: X-Press It Blending Card; Bristol Smooth Surface; Stampers Select White (Papertrey Ink); Black Licorice (Lawn Fawn).
DIES: Spring Collage Tag (Creative Worship Stamps); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Lots of Dots mini stencil (Creative Worship Stamps); Black thread; Gold gems; Gold paint (Gansai Tambi Starry Colors).

I'm entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge to "make it colorful".

There's a fun new inspiration list for the Festive Friday challenge.  I chose blue(turquoise), green, brown, shells and seaweed. I started by stenciling a 2 layer Pool Water stencil using Cracked Pistachio and Salvaged Patina distress oxide inks. I brush blended inks onto the different shell and seaweed dies. Some dew drop accents were added for embellishments.

Just Us Girls

This week it's CASE a DT Week on the Just Us Girls challenge blog. I chose Bobby Hagan's card and used stamps and dies by Papertrey Ink. After stamping all the florals, I then tucked them behind the sentiment slits. I added two punched corner pieces to give the design better balance (I should have lowered the sentiment more...it felt top heavy).

STAMPS: Blooming Beauties, Tuck It Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Scarlet Jewel (PTI); Olive, Key Lime, Sweet Mustard, Marigold, Clementine, Berrylicious, Candy Apple, Regal Kiss, Hydrangea, Sparkling Rose, Bubble Gum, Raspberry Bliss (Pinkfresh Studio).
PAPER: Stampers Select White (PTI).
DIES: Blooming Beauties, Tuck It Sentiments (PTI); Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things).

Bible Journaling

One year ago today...at 10:10pm...I got a phone call from my niece saying my younger brother had died. His wife shared that his favorite verse was Psalm 23:8 so, I thought it was fitting to do a Bible journaling page of Psalm 23 in general.

STAMPS: All About Ewe (Reverse Confetti).
STENCILS: June 2023 Surprise Box (Papertrey Ink).

In loving memory...Wanda

Freshly Made Sketches

Another great layout is up for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I started with some patterned paper and cut with the large Love to Layer: Torn Edges die. I sponged edges with Enchanted Evening ink. The two rectangular elements were ephemera from 49th & Market. I gold embossed the butterfly and sentiment and added some navy/white thread.

STAMPS: Made New, Be Encouraged (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK:Versamark; Enchanted Evening (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Vintage Shabby 12x12" pad by Tim Holtz; Stamper's Select White (PTI).

Paper Players Challenge

The current sketch challenge for The Paper Players was a great one that I couldn't pass up. The scalloped border and the scalloped circle dies are from Papertrey Ink. The echinacea floral and the sentiment are from Creative Worship Stamps.

The base panel was a leftover that I decided would be a perfect background for this sweet echinacea image.

I smooshed Dusty Concord and Shaded Lilac distress inks over some Bristol Smooth Surface paper then stenciled some dots and stamped some music and script stamps in black.  The flower was stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink then clear embossed. I used an aquapainter brush to pick up distress ink colors from my glass mat. I finally opened my new Posca white pen and I'm in love! My gelly roll white ink pen just never wanted to work well for me, so I'll see how Posca will perform.

STAMPS: Patient Echinacea, Texture Tiles 1 (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Dusty Concord, Shaded Lilac, Milled Lavender, Bundled Sage, Mowed Lawn, Fossilized Amber distress inks (Ranger); Versafine Clair Nocturne.

Tic Tac Toe

A dear couple from church is getting married today and this is their card I created using Into the Blooms: Roses dies from Papertrey Ink. I cut all the flowers and leaves from Bristol Smooth Surface paper then color blended with brushes, spritzed with water then spritzed with Raspberry Fizz and Pinefeather inks. The sentiment was gold embossed so that led to accenting with some gold gems. I'm entering this into the Tic Tac Toe Challenge using the middle vertical options of die cuts, embossing and layers.

For the background, I used a 3D embossing folder - Chocolate Flowers - by Altenew. A tip that is helpful for a deeper and more detailed embossing result is to mist the paper on both sides. Wipe any excess water off and then run it through the Big Shot. The scalloped oval background was popped up with foam tape.

STAMPS: Forever & Always Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Pinefeather, Bright Buttercup, Lovely Lady, Berry Sorbet, Raspberry Fizz, Scarlet Jewel (PTI); Versamark.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Stampers Select White, True Black (PTI).
DIES: Into the Blooms: Roses, Forever & Always Sentiments, Love to Layer: Scalloped Ovals (PTI).
OTHER: Chocolate Flowers 3D embossing folder (Altenew); Gold enamel dots; Queen's Gold embossing powder.

Patient Echinacea

Good Wednesday morning! I got happy mail yesterday from Creative Worship Stamps! They have been sold out of the Patient Echinacea Bundle for awhile and it recently became available. I love the fun, hand drawn look of this set and it's a fun one to color! I made two cards with similar backgrounds. I started with designer paper from an old 12x12" Vintage Shabby pad by Tim Holtz.

On the first card, I used the single damask stencil by Creative Worship Stamps and added Liquitex light modeling paste. The second card uses the Damask Pattern stencil with Frayed Burlap distress ink over the patterned paper.

I smooshed distress ink onto my glass mat and spritzed with water. I then colored the images using an aquapainter brush. The clipboard was a leftover scrap that I had swiped using distress inks (not sure what colors I used as it was weeks ago that I made it).

The "hello" sentiment was from an old sticker sheet and the thank you sentiment tag is from a Phrase Tags set by Jen Hadfield (Pebbles Inc.).
I stamped the images with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink then clear embossed. This really makes it easier to do water coloring within the lines.

STAMPS: Patient Echinacea, Clipboard (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Bundled Sage, Mowed Lawn, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Peacock Feathers, Frayed Burlap, Worn Lipstick, Saltwater Taffy, Dried Marigold distress (Ranger).

Thanks so much for stopping by!  ~Wanda
