Just Us Girls

This week it's CASE a DT Week on the Just Us Girls challenge blog. I chose Bobby Hagan's card and used stamps and dies by Papertrey Ink. After stamping all the florals, I then tucked them behind the sentiment slits. I added two punched corner pieces to give the design better balance (I should have lowered the sentiment more...it felt top heavy).

STAMPS: Blooming Beauties, Tuck It Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Scarlet Jewel (PTI); Olive, Key Lime, Sweet Mustard, Marigold, Clementine, Berrylicious, Candy Apple, Regal Kiss, Hydrangea, Sparkling Rose, Bubble Gum, Raspberry Bliss (Pinkfresh Studio).
PAPER: Stampers Select White (PTI).
DIES: Blooming Beauties, Tuck It Sentiments (PTI); Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Corner Photo Punch (Stampin' Up).

Bible Journaling

One year ago today...at 10:10pm...I got a phone call from my niece saying my younger brother had died. His wife shared that his favorite verse was Psalm 23:8 so, I thought it was fitting to do a Bible journaling page of Psalm 23 in general.

STAMPS: All About Ewe (Reverse Confetti).
STENCILS: June 2023 Surprise Box (Papertrey Ink).

In loving memory...Wanda

Freshly Made Sketches

Another great layout is up for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I started with some patterned paper and cut with the large Love to Layer: Torn Edges die. I sponged edges with Enchanted Evening ink. The two rectangular elements were ephemera from 49th & Market. I gold embossed the butterfly and sentiment and added some navy/white thread.

STAMPS: Made New, Be Encouraged (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK:Versamark; Enchanted Evening (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Vintage Shabby 12x12" pad by Tim Holtz; Stamper's Select White (PTI).

Paper Players Challenge

The current sketch challenge for The Paper Players was a great one that I couldn't pass up. The scalloped border and the scalloped circle dies are from Papertrey Ink. The echinacea floral and the sentiment are from Creative Worship Stamps.

The base panel was a leftover that I decided would be a perfect background for this sweet echinacea image.

I smooshed Dusty Concord and Shaded Lilac distress inks over some Bristol Smooth Surface paper then stenciled some dots and stamped some music and script stamps in black.  The flower was stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink then clear embossed. I used an aquapainter brush to pick up distress ink colors from my glass mat. I finally opened my new Posca white pen and I'm in love! My gelly roll white ink pen just never wanted to work well for me, so I'll see how Posca will perform.

STAMPS: Patient Echinacea, Texture Tiles 1 (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Dusty Concord, Shaded Lilac, Milled Lavender, Bundled Sage, Mowed Lawn, Fossilized Amber distress inks (Ranger); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
DIES: Patient Echinacea (Creative Worship Stamps); On the Edge: Scallops Collection, Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: White Posca pen; Prismacolor pencils; Oval punch (Stampin' Up); Lots of Dots mini stencil (Creative Worship Stamps).

That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!  ~Wanda

Tic Tac Toe

A dear couple from church is getting married today and this is their card I created using Into the Blooms: Roses dies from Papertrey Ink. I cut all the flowers and leaves from Bristol Smooth Surface paper then color blended with brushes, spritzed with water then spritzed with Raspberry Fizz and Pinefeather inks. The sentiment was gold embossed so that led to accenting with some gold gems. I'm entering this into the Tic Tac Toe Challenge using the middle vertical options of die cuts, embossing and layers.

For the background, I used a 3D embossing folder - Chocolate Flowers - by Altenew. A tip that is helpful for a deeper and more detailed embossing result is to mist the paper on both sides. Wipe any excess water off and then run it through the Big Shot. The scalloped oval background was popped up with foam tape.

STAMPS: Forever & Always Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Pinefeather, Bright Buttercup, Lovely Lady, Berry Sorbet, Raspberry Fizz, Scarlet Jewel (PTI); Versamark.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Stampers Select White, True Black (PTI).
DIES: Into the Blooms: Roses, Forever & Always Sentiments, Love to Layer: Scalloped Ovals (PTI).
OTHER: Chocolate Flowers 3D embossing folder (Altenew); Gold enamel dots; Queen's Gold embossing powder.

Patient Echinacea

Good Wednesday morning! I got happy mail yesterday from Creative Worship Stamps! They have been sold out of the Patient Echinacea Bundle for awhile and it recently became available. I love the fun, hand drawn look of this set and it's a fun one to color! I made two cards with similar backgrounds. I started with designer paper from an old 12x12" Vintage Shabby pad by Tim Holtz.

On the first card, I used the single damask stencil by Creative Worship Stamps and added Liquitex light modeling paste. The second card uses the Damask Pattern stencil with Frayed Burlap distress ink over the patterned paper.

I smooshed distress ink onto my glass mat and spritzed with water. I then colored the images using an aquapainter brush. The clipboard was a leftover scrap that I had swiped using distress inks (not sure what colors I used as it was weeks ago that I made it).

The "hello" sentiment was from an old sticker sheet and the thank you sentiment tag is from a Phrase Tags set by Jen Hadfield (Pebbles Inc.).
I stamped the images with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink then clear embossed. This really makes it easier to do water coloring within the lines.

STAMPS: Patient Echinacea, Clipboard (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Bundled Sage, Mowed Lawn, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Peacock Feathers, Frayed Burlap, Worn Lipstick, Saltwater Taffy, Dried Marigold distress (Ranger).

Thanks so much for stopping by!  ~Wanda

Sealed

Yesterday's sermon at church was about the seal of the Holy Spirit described in the first chapter of Ephesians. That led me to do a quick Bible journaling page this morning. The envelope and seal are from The Greetery's Signed & Sealed stamp/die set. The florals are from Papertrey Ink's Thank You Florals stamp/die set.

Bible Journaling - Bee Gracious

Another Bible journaling page...this time highlighting Proverbs 16:24. I started with older, hardly ever used stencils from the July 2023 Surprise Box and from the Grunge Alphabet stencils at Papertrey Ink. I used Mowed Lawn, Mustard Seed, Black Soot, Tea Dye, Frayed Burlap, Wild Honey distress inks. The "BEE" word was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink using the Typewriter Keys Caps Alpha set from Creative Worship Stamps. You can get this set free with a $75 order through the end of April!

Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Freshly Made Sketches

I used the new layout for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I had a leftover 'measuring tape' panel so started with that. I used the Diamond Mesh stencil with Bundled Sage distress ink for the card base. A trio of stitched circle dies are behind the daisies colored with Copics after stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card.

STAMPS: Flowers in Bloom, Be Encouraged, Vintage Snippets (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Tea Dye, Bundled Sage distress; Versafine Clair Nocturne; Memento Tuxedo Black.
PAPER: X-Press It Blending Card, Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Flowers In Bloom (CWS); Stitched Circle & Banner STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Diamond Mesh stencil (CWS); Corner rounder; Copics (B93, B95, B97, G21, YG63, Y15, YR23, E31, E33, E35).

Bible Journaling - Light of the World

Another Bible journaling page completed...this time with Matthew 5:14-16 as the inspiration verses. With the light of the world theme, I went to an old stamp/die set from Papertrey Ink called Vintage Lantern. I used dye inks from Pinkfresh Studio and Papertrey Ink in addition to Versafine Clair Nocturne. The "YOU" was stamped using a freebie stamp set in April - Typewriter Keys Caps Alpha - with a $75 order or more from Creative Worship Stamps. Check them out HERE.

Word Art Wednesday April 15

The weeks are rolling by in April and it's time once again for a new Word Art Wednesday challenge! This time we have a verse from Psalm 4:8 for our inspiration. The verse is part of a psalm written by David, likely during a time of intense personal distress.  It emphasizes finding rest and security in God's sovereignty, rather than relying on external circumstances. The "peace" mentioned is a direct result of trusting in God's presence.

It doesn't show up well in the photos but I sprayed the butterflies with Sheer Shimmer "Sparkle" spray which gives them a fun sheen IRL.

STAMPS: Made New (Creative Worship Stamps); Verse printed at 60% size.
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black.
PAPER: Bloom & Wild 6x6 pad (Craft Consortium); X-Press It Blending Card; Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Made New (Creative Worship Stamps); Extravagant Floral Frames (PTI).
COPICS: B00, B02, B24, YG00, Y18, R20, RV02, RV04.

We have another generous sponsor for this challenge and you only have a chance to win if you join us and enter a card! Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Bible Journaling Begins

I have admired the beautiful Bible journaling pages from a variety of artists and finally took the plunge! I bought an ESV single column journaling Bible by Crossway. I looked at quite a few YouTube tutorials to get some guidance with what inks to use, etc. I started with 2 pages yesterday and 2 more today. It's very addicting! But...I still have lots to learn.

This page lacks something, so I plan to go back and add more color to the large FAITH stamp. I will probably stamp it on paper and color with Copics then adhere to the Bible page. I'm open to any suggestions from you have mastered this process!
As with the first page shown, I used more of the free printables from Creative Worship Stamps since I had taken their Live By Faith course a few weeks ago and this was a sweet perk.

This page uses stamps from a Sizzix set (#666704) by 49th & Market. Only the foliage dies are from Creative Worship Stamps' Foliage die set. I also learned to go lighter with my yellow highlighter and I barely get any bleed through.

Thanks for stopping by!  ~Wanda

The Paper Players

This week it's color week - yellow, gray, black - for the Paper Players challenge. I created a collage background then added the tulip focal point. The sentiment tends to get lost in the background, so next time I might try something different...maybe white embossing on a yellow background? I clear embossed the tulip and colored with Copics.

STAMPS: Script Sentiments, Texture Textiles, Vintage Snippets, Blooming Tulip (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Lost Shadow, Black Soot distress.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White (PTI); Bristol Smooth Surface.
DIES: Script Sentiments, Blooming Tulip (Creative Worship Stamps); Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Diamond Mesh stencil (CWS); Clear embossing powder, Copics.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  ~Wanda

Festive Friday Challenge

To recognize World Stationary Day, Festive Friday Challenge has elements on their inspo list related to that theme. I chose sepia colors, twine and distressing techniques for this monochromatic design. Lots of distress ink shades in the brown family were used!

I stamped a variety of stamps from the Vintage Snippets set by Creative Worship Stamps. The sentiment is from the Be Encouraged set from that company. I color blended then splattered with Ground Espresso distress ink. The Damask Pattern stencil from CWS was stenciled over random sections of the panel. I love the partial torn notebook page die that's in Papertrey Ink's Just Notes stamp/die set.

STAMPS: Vintage Snippets, Be Encouraged (Creative Worship Stamps); The Journey (Tim Holtz Visual Artistry Collection) by Stampers Anonymous.
INK: Old Paper, Scattered Straw, Ground Espresso, Vintage Photo, Tea Dye distress inks; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Textiles & Texture Vintage pad (Honey Bee Stamps); Fine Linen, Vintage Cream (PTI).
DIES: Just Notes (PTI); Tim Holtz butterfly die & embossing folder collection.
OTHER: Jute twine.

That's it for now. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!  ~Wanda
