30 Day Coloring Challenge

It's hard to believe we are already up to Day 7 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge! I went WAY back in my archives to get this old Flourishes set - Snow Wonderful - and also dug out some long neglected watercolor pencils to color the image! I blended the colors with an Aquapainter.

I'm also playing along with the new Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

STAMPS: Snow Wonderful (Flourishes).
PAPER: Norland paper pad by Farm House Paper Co.; Smooth White by My Favorite Things.
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black.
DIES: Blueprint 27 Die-Namics by MFT; Classic Keyhole Template die by Flourishes.

It was in the low 60's today, but they tell us the weather will take a nose dive tonight and we'll only be high of low 40's tomorrow! Guess it's time to bring out the heavy weight layers! :-)

Deck The Howls

This is one of my favorite animal Christmas sets - Deck The Howls by My Favorite Things - and is especially suited for our daughter who is a big dog lover and a lover of puns! I'm playing along with the 30 Day Coloring Challenge on Kathy Racoosin's blog and colored with Copics after stamping images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card.

. Patterned papers are from Carta Bella's So This Is Christmas 6x6" pad. The stitched circles and stitched banner flag are dies by MFT. The shine and dimension didn't show up in the photograph, but I added Glossy Accents to the string of lights and to the ornaments or jingle bells on the collar of the top dog. I also like to add an occasional highlight with a white gel pen to add a little definition.

That's all for today! I'm enjoying some football games as I'm in my craft room. Holding my breath that Virginia Tech can hold the lead for a win over Notre Dame! Go Hokies!     ~Wanda

30 Day Coloring Challenge

This year, I have no excuses - no cancer treatment...no work schedule since I'm retired, etc. - and I plan to try to keep up with the 30 day Coloring Challenge that Kathy Racoosin has going on for the month of November. Today, she is challenging us to color with stencils and I immediately went to the new Frosty Flakes stencil set from The Greetery!

I'm excited because these base panels will be the start of 4
Christmas cards. I plan to add scenes in the center using the Christmas Eve stamp set from The Greetery. I love this country church set that gives me a retro feel for Christmas! Another new "tool" for me is using Pixie spray which is a light tack adhesive that keeps the stencil in place without having to use tape - woohoo! It was OOS for awhile, but I finally was able to snag some from Gina K Designs.
I used my blending brushes from Taylored Expressions with the following SU inks: Soft Sky, Pink Pirouette, Coastal Cabana and Wisteria Wonder. Stay tuned in the near future as you see how I use these stenciled panels on a completed card!           ~Wanda
