More Abundant Blooms

In case you hadn't noticed, I really love the Abundant Blooms set from Ink to Paper and have pulled it out again for my card for the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and was inspired by the floral arrangement and colors for The Card Concept challenge! I am calling this a combination style between clean and simple and clean layered. Initially, I wanted the vase to be blue and white but opted to stencil the blue color instead.

I tucked in some leftover greenery from Tag Creations: Joyful Jars and added a
linen thread bow on the handle of the pitcher. Do you ever forget you have certain dies in your stash? I came across this small tag die from ITP's Sweet Celebration stamp/die set and it was perfect to add a sentiment here!

STAMPS: Abundant Blooms, Sweet Celebration (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: White (Ink to Paper), Brilliant Blue (retired from Stampin' Up).

INK: Blueprint Sketch & Rustic Wilderness distress oxide (Ranger); Fairy Dust, Silver Lining (WPlus9); Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Hibiscus Burst, Autumn Rose (Ink to Paper).

DIES: Abundant Blooms, Sweet Celebration, Tag Creations: Joyful Jars (Ink to Paper); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things); Crimped Circles (The Greetery).

Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy your Friday!     ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

It's time again for a new Fusion Card Challenge and I've used both the sketch and the inspiration photo to create this card. I dug into my Paper Smooches archives and used these adorable hugging elephants!

I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card paper then colored with Copics. Papers are all from the Authentique Classicque: Pretty 6x6" pad.  Stitched rectangle, stitched flags and the tag dies are all from My Favorite Things.

STAMPS: A Little Lovin', Fancy Frames (sentiment) by Paper Smooches.

Hope you can join us in the challenge! Happy stamping!   ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #640

Hello blog friends! Yours truly is hosting the new Color Throwdown challenge this week and I was inspired by these spring tulips to use coral, pink and green. I went with the stamp and stencil combo set by The Greetery called Print Shop: Floral Frame.

Love this bold sentiment from Birthday Blooms - also from The Greetery. Another card completed to build up my birthday stash!

STAMPS: Print Shop: Floral Frame, Birthday Blooms (The Greetery).

INK: Sweet Nectar, Flamingo, Little Piggy, Shell Pink, Last Leaf, Beanstalk (dye inks by WPlus9); Versafine Onyx Black.

Graceful Wings

I sat down to stamp for no reason other than I wanted to - lol! No challenges, no design commitment. I ordered a new stash of WOW! embossing powders and wanted to try the Sunburst color out on this butterfly from the Graceful Wings stamp/die set from Ink to Paper. It's one of my all-time fave sets! I white embossed the butterfly outline then lightly sponged with a sponge dauber and Versamark ink around the edges. I then heated the Sunburst embossing powder and was careful not to heat it too long or the original white embossing might look "singed". TIP: I make sure I use a heavier weight vellum when I heat emboss so there isn't as much risk of warping.

I sponged the edges of the "torn" panels and also popped the yellow

panel up with foam. I adhered the butterfly only with a small square of foam tape so I could curl up the wings a bit to give it more dimension.

To the right, you can see the inside of the card -->

STAMPS: Graceful Wings (Ink to Paper).

INK: Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado.

PAPER: White Simply Chartreuse, Lemon Tart, Vellum (Ink to Paper).

DIES: Love to Layer: Torn Edges, Graceful Wings, Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles (all from Ink to Paper).

OTHER: Sunburst WOW! Embossing Powder (Ink to Paper).

Time to get some supper prepared. I'm thinking it will be taco Tuesday! 😍                                                           ~Wanda

Blooming Thoughts

The weekend flew by so quickly! Keeping grand kids on Saturday, cooking/baking for the w/e, church on Sunday...soon there was little time for stamping - lol! I did complete my card for the Fusion challenge this Thursday, but not an extra one to post until this morning.

I wanted to use the awesome spring colors in the Sunday Stamps challenge, so I went right away to the recently released set called Blooming Thoughts from Ink to Paper.

I had this yellow card base - white embossed with the Vintage
Postage Stamp and layered with a Border Bling: Skinny Postage die - in my leftover pile for quite some time. When I saw the sketch for the new Paper Players challenge, I decided it would fit. The oval is nearly hidden and the center horizontal "band" element is a bit wider than in the sketch, but hopefully the challenge police won't come after me! I love tying the 3 floral sprays together with twine for a quick and easy nosegay!

STAMPS: Blooming Thoughts, Vintage Postage (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Lemon Tart, White (Ink to Paper).

INK: Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise; Versamark.

DIES: Blooming Thoughts, Border Bling: Skinny Postage (Ink to Paper).

OTHER: Altenew Pure White Opaque embossing powder; Twine.

This week finally sounds like we will have some spring-like temperatures! Yay! I am nursing along a number of plants inside the house that belong outside. Maybe I'll get to place them outdoors soon. Have a great Monday everyone!   ~Wanda

Balloon Bouquet

I wanted to play along with a couple favorite challenges and thought this balloon bouquet would fit the bill for Karren's great layout at Freshly Made Sketches and also for Laurie"s CAS birthday challenge at The Paper Players. The sketch is for a slimline card so it gave me a chance to finally try out  a slimline die from The Greetery that I haven't used  until now.

I really love all the layered stamps used to create the floral balloon!

The two smaller balloons were simply die cut from white paper then ink blended with Hibiscus Burst and Mint Julep dye inks.

STAMPS: Balloon Bouquet (The Greetery).

PAPER: Lemon Tart, White, True Black (Ink to Paper).

INK: Lemon Tart, Hibiscus Burst, Autumn Rose, Mint Julep, Vintage Jadeite (Ink to Paper); Versafine Onyx Black.

DIES: Big Balloons, Nordic Slimline (The Greetery).

OTHER: Washi tape.

It's a blustery cold day in VA and I'm back to wearing two sweaters in the house and am hunkered down in my craft room after doing some laundry and watering plants that I bought recently but can't place outdoors until after Mother's Day (the recommended time to plant items that might get bitten by frosty nights). Thanks so much for stopping by!                                              ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #639

Hello everyone! Hope this Wednesday is treating you well and that you are ready for some great new Color Throwdown colors! We have some warm, vibrant shades brought to us by Vickie Zimmer who is hosting this week: red, yellow, orange and kraft.

I thought these colors would work well with this awesome butterfly from Ink to Paper! I embossed the image with WOW! Rose Gold embossing powder then painted with Mijello Mission Gold watercolors on Bristol Smooth Surface paper. The background was embossed with a brick embossing folder then highlighted by sponging kraft ink over it.

STAMPS: Flying By (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Kraft, White (Ink to Paper); Bristol Smooth Surface.

INK: Versamark, Kraft.

DIES: Flying By, Pierced Feature Frames, Love to Layer: Torn Edges, Beautiful Bouquet Tag (all by Ink to Paper).

OTHER: Twine, WOW! Rose Gold embossing powder, Brick embossing folder.

We'd love to have you join us in the challenge, so I'll look for you in the gallery! Happy stamping!    ~Wanda

Cake Creations

Cake Creations stamp set from Ink to Paper is still one of my fave choices for birthday cards! I decided to grab two black and white dotted patterns of paper on my leftover pile and die cut them using the Love to Layter: Notched die set.

The only pops of color are the sweet little florals and the candle from the same set. I chose spring colors and want to enter this into the Seize The Birthday challenge which has the option of "spring flowers" as the topping this week. The happy birthday sentiment is on the inside since there was already a whole lotta "busy" happening on the card front!

STAMPS: Cake Creations (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Bitty Big: True Black, White (Ink to Paper).

INK: Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, True Black (Ink to Paper).

DIES: Love to Layer: Notched, Cake Creations (Ink to Paper).

It's a beautiful Sunday and I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful day! Yesterday, we were blessed to travel to northern VA to celebrate our youngest grand's second birthday. We rarely have all four grands together so it's always lots of fun when it happens!

Thanks so much for stopping by...

Release Day at ITP

The four days of reveals are over and it's finally release day at Ink to Paper at 10 PM EST! I couldn't resist using the Blooming Thoughts set again (no surprise that I chose to use flowers - lol). The base panel was color blended with Lilac Grace ink then die cut using the Border Bling: Believe die. I was inspired to use shades of purple based on the inspiration photo at The Card Concept challenge. I would call my style clean and layered.

I wanted to add more greenery so stamped up a variety of leaves from the previously released Effortless Beauties set and tucked them around the flowers.

STAMPS: Blooming Thoughts (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface, White (Ink to Paper).

INK: Lilac Grace, Amethyst Allure, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Vintage Jadeite

DIES: Shape Shifters: Circle One, Border Bling: Believe, Blooming Thoughts, Keep It Simple Frames (Ink to Paper).

OTHER: Twine, Crystal Clear Fusion sequins by Studio Katia.

Thanks so much for stopping by...happy stamping!   ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

There is a new Fusion Card Challenge up today and I used both the sketch and the inspiration photo for my card. The Abundant Blooms set from Ink to Paper was the perfect fit! I layered 3 squares over a white strip of background paper to use as a backdrop for this great pitcher of blooms. I wanted to add more greenery than just the stems in the set, so used several small leafy dies from the Tag Creations: Joyful Jars set - also from Ink to Paper.

These colors make me happy and are a favorite color palette for spring and summer cards!

STAMPS: Abundant Blooms (Ink to Paper).

INK: Bright Buttercup, Pure Poppy, New Leaf (Ink to Paper); Fairy Dust, Silver Lining (WPlus9).

PAPER: Bitty Big: Pure Poppy patterned paper; White (Ink to Paper).

DIES: Abundant Blooms (Ink to Paper); Sentiment Suite Basics (The Greetery); Stitched Squares STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

We would love to have you join in the challenge! Use just the sketch or just the photo or use both for a fusion! Have a wonderful day and happy stamping!                                               ~Wanda

Ink to Paper Reveal Day #4

Welcome back for the fourth day of reveals of the April release at Ink to Paper! Today we are introducing you to Mother & Father stamp set + Feathered Friends 10 dies + Blooming Thoughts stamp set and dies.

I'm not always sure of the bird species with each new Feathered Friend, but I know he was another fun one to color and assemble (I used colors that were in the patterned papers)!

I used a wreath and a few florals to "ground" my bird, then added one of the great new sentiments that I heat embossed with WOW! Rose Gold embossing powder. It reminds me of copper so I felt it was a good fit for a masculine card. WOW! products are now being sold at ITP, so check out their embossing powders and add some to your shopping list! 😉

STAMPS: Mother & Father, Wreath Favor Box Sentiments.
INK: Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Fine Linen, Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean, Canyon Clay; Versamark.
PAPER: Text-style "Father Knows Best" 6x6 patterned paper, White, Dark Chocolate.
DIES: Feathered Friends 10, Love to Layer: Torn Edges, Wreath Favor Box Sentiments.
OTHER: WOW! Rose Gold embossing powder.

Next up are some gorgeous new blooms (you know you can never have too many flowers)! I noticed a theme happening with my cards this release and that is that I am using lots of Limeade Ice ink and paper! Because it's a yellowish shade of green, it reminds me of new growth and is perfect for spring time creations. It blends well with New Leaf ink which is what I used on this card.

I couldn't resist using my favorite blend of colors again for the flowers (Sweet Blush, Pale Peony and Berry Sorbet). You can't see it well in the photos, but I'm loving the added texture and sparkle that comes from a strip of tulle infused with chunky glitter. It was a recent find at Michael's that I couldn't resist!

STAMPS: Blooming Thoughts, Mother & Father
INK: Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Limeade Ice, New Leaf; Versamark
PAPER: White.
DIES: Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Blooming Thoughts, Delicate Doilies.
OTHER: WOW! Rose Gold embossing powder, Twine, Chunky glitter tulle.
