Elegance to Cherish

I found two challenges that I thought would mesh
beautifully for an elegant wedding card! The Friday Mashup challenge is"feeling the love" and Liliana has given us a great sketch with a challenge to mash it up with hearts.  On the Shabby Tea Room challenge blog, the theme is elegance with inspiration from this gorgeous photo and the direction to use the color scheme and a flower on our creation.

So...this is what I came up with...

I love this elegant paper from Kaisercraft's Chapter One 6x6 pad.  The rhinestone/lace border is in a sticker format from Prima Marketing - so easy to add to a card!  I had bits and pieces of SU's glitter CS leftover from winter snowflake projects and they were perfect to cut these little hearts using Verve's "From the Heart" die.  Ribbon is PTI's Fine Linen satin ribbon.  The sentiment is from PTI's Tag It #12 stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by...I always enjoy reading your comments!

Spring is Love

...this is the theme for the Shabby Tea Room Challenge where we're to use flowers, polka dots and a heart.  We are also to use the colors from this inspiration picture.  I'm also creating this card for the Timeless Tuesday Challenge on the Flourishes blog where Cindy has challenged us to use butterflies on a card.  Oozak is a company with fantastic customer service and shipping and I've ordered most all of my Copics from them.  They have started a monthly challenge and this month it's to use spring colors...check it out HERE.  And last but not least, I used Chupa's sketch for her Saturday Sketch Challenge...lots of fun layers!

STAMPS: Botanical Bookplates Vol. 2 (Flourishes).
PAPER: Victoria Gardens by Echo Park, White (PTI) for base, X-Press It Blending Card - for Copic coloring with image, Pear Pizzazz.
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black, ColorBox Frost White (to sponge on heart), Tea dye distress ink to sponge on edges of the heart).
ACCESSORIES: Fleur de Lis Squares Nestie, MS butterfly punch, Pearls, Satin ribbon, Diamond Stickles, MS scallop heart border punch, Copics, Lace trim, Jotted Heart die by Verve, Crimper.

Birthday Roses

Good Tuesday afternoon! I didn't think I'd get inky this morning, but when I saw the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge was asking us to use our fave image...I couldn't resist!  Though I love many of their floral images, this lenten rose is my favorite!  I got to break in a new Nestabilities set (for me) and I sponged some Pool Party ink on the CS while it was still in the Nestie.  Coloring was done with Copics and some Diamond Stickles were added to the centers.  This card is also for The Shabby Tea Room challenge to use aqua, pink, neutrals & flowers.  Totally love this inspiration picture using these soft, feminine colors!

Hello Friend

This card was created for 4 different challenges:
SCS Color Challenge - Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze (dessert option: embossing)
Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge- Karen Giron's sketch
Shabby Tea Room - butterflies
MMTPT143 - teapotters have lots of free rein for this week's tea party! To see the complete wacky story, click on the link HERE. I'm bringing Beverly Butterfly to the party. She's decked out in fancy glitter and velvet polka dots (just to impress) ever since she called mudder the Queen of Breaking Challenge Rules. She's feeling rather guilty and is now kissing up to mudder with this fancy disguise! So this week's destination is fellow teapotters and I'm planning to play along. Wonder who my gallery neighbor will be...Hmmm...

STAMPS: Faithful Phrases (Verve)
PAPER: Green Tea (SU), Baja Breeze, White
INK: Soft Sky (used to sponge the tag), Baja Breeze, Versafine Onyx Black

Spring Birdie

It's Wednesday already, so that means it's time for another MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge. This card is also for the Shabby Tea Room Challenge to be inspired by this photo and use pastels and stripes. The aqua border has 2 different Die-namic dies layered on top of each other. The PI image was colored with Copics and cut out.

Top Note Thanks

It's been awhile since I made a top note card, so thought I'd use the layout from the Card Patterns Sketch challenge and use doilies & lace for The Shabby Tea Room Challenge.
This went together quickly since the doily circle is a Martha Stewart tag and the butterfly sticker is also from MS. The sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip from Verve's Sweet Treats set. Swiss dots EF, some lace, satin ribbon and a MS Floral Band border punch finished up this card. DP is from the Stella & Rose "Mabel" papers by My Mind's Eye.

Going Round in Circles

It's Mojo Monday and Teresa has a super circle or square sketch for this week's challenge! I tweaked it a bit so I wouldn't cover up all this gorgeous DP. This is also for the Shabby Tea Room Challenge - to use a flower palette based on this inspiration picture.
Here is what I used:
STAMPS: Dude (Verve) - sentiment; Sentiment Flags (Lil Inker Designs)
PAPER: TC Cottage Garden DP by K&Co, Neenah Solar White

RTB - Now Boarding for Paris

I'm excited to be a bar tender for Joni's Raise the Bar Challenge! This week we are to create a card inspired by a foreign country. Paris is still on my bucket list and in the meantime, I can only dream of the Eiffel tower, romance and flowers adorning an outdoor cafe! The image was stamped on Vintage Cream CS, distressed then sponged with So Saffron ink. Below it is a doily die peeking through in Regal Rose. I finally was able to make satisfactory rolled roses using MFT's dies and a tool to make rolling SO much easier! On one end, it has a metal tip with a slit to "grab" the end of the paper and on the other end it has a rounded ball so you can "curve" the petals if you like. I didn't use this end on my roses, but think it would work for the larger rolled flower dies. A seam binding bow and some bling top off this shabby chic card.
This card is also for Betty's Color Challenge on SCS: Regal Rose, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz; dessert option is to use things that start with "P" - Parisian image, pearls.
It's also for the Shabby Tea Room Challenge where we're playing Bingo this week...my winning row is gems, flower, die cut. Here's what I used:
STAMPS: Tim Holtz Visual Artistry Collection by Stampers Anonymous
PAPER: Springtime Vintage DP (SU), Regal Rose, Pear Pizzazz, Vintage Cream (PTI)
INK: Versafine Onyx Black
ACCESSORIES: Distressing tool, Sponge, Bling by Recollections, Doily die (MFT), Pear Pizzazz seam binding, Mini rolled roses die (MFT), Adhesive pearls, Fern punch (MS)

Trio of Flowers

This card is for The Shabby Tea Room Challenge to use green and for the Card Patterns Sketch 106. Michael's has a new display of coordinated buttons (these 3 were on 1 card), so wanted to use them as flowers with the leaves from SU's Sweet Summer set stamped in Old Olive. I took an Aquapainter and swiped it lightly over the olive ink pad to color in the leaves. Don't forget to spring your clocks ahead one hour tonight!
STAMPS: Sweet Summer (SU), Sentiment Flags (Lil Inker Designs)
PAPER: DP by Papertrey Ink, Lemon Tart, Vintage Cream (PTI)
INK: Old Olive, Versafine Onyx Black
ACCESSORIES: Circle & Blossom Nesties, Corner chomper, Lemondrop twine

Casing Julie

Julie (UKJem) is the featured stamper on SCS this week and WOW...is her gallery ever amazing! I loved her white on white cards with a variety of embossing and textures that were lightly sponged! For my CASE, I changed the layout, used different EFs & floral dies. I'll definitely be going back to her site for more inspiration in the future! This card is also for Paper Sundaes Challenge to use circles (large dotted circles EF, round brads, pearls, circular flowers) and for The Shabby Tea Room Challenge to use a sketch by Pattie. I used 3 different CB embossing folders. The flowers were die cut using a PTI flower die, then sponged and curled gently around a stylus. The scallop edge punch (SU) and frond punch (MS) were also used. Everything was sponged with Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink. Thanks so much for stopping by...don't forget the drawing for my 1 year blogoversary give-away is Wednesday...check THIS POST FOR DETAILS!

Consider it CASED!

This card is for 3 challenges:
Color Dare #82 - use Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy & Old Olive
Free 4 All - paper piece with scraps
The Shabby Tea Room 33 - Consider it CASED (copy and slightly edit one of the designer's cards)
I definitely have a significant pile of scraps to use up, so this bird punch was the perfect solution to use. I CASED Cathy's card by using the bird theme, keeping it a square card but tweaking her layout a bit.

PAPER: Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Blue Awning DP by K&Co
INK: Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight
