Freshly Made Sketches

 

It's that time of the year when I begin to build up my Christmas stash! The Freshly Made Sketches layout was perfect to pull out some older dies and create a "tree" for the holidays. I started with a very old pack of Christmas patterned papers by Recollections. This is pretty self-explanatory so, I will get to the list of what I used.

STAMPS: Sentiment Suite: Christmas (The Greetery).

INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne.

PAPER: Christmas/Noel (Recollections); Light green scrap from my overflowing scrap bin; Pure Poppy, Stampers Select White (Papertrey Ink).

DIES: Blueprints 27, Stitched Ric Rac, Stitched Tall Triangle STAX (My Favorite Things); Winter Berries Stem Layering dies (Kristina Werner for Concord & 9th); Sentiment Suite Basics (The Greetery).

Freshly Made Sketches

 

Michele Ferguson has a great new layout for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. It was hard to keep it clean and simple but I started with a leftover stenciled background from another project.I used the smallest stitched pocket die and the frame from the Picture This stamp set for the two tilted "squares". The flower was clear embossed then colored with Copics (it was fussy cut from the summer tag stamp set).

STAMPS:  Picture This, Spring Collage Tag, Summer Collage Tag, Texture Tiles 3, Texture Tiles 1 (Creative Worship Stamps).

INK: Cracked Pistachio, Tattered Rose, Saltwater Taffy distress; Versafine Clair Nocturne.

Sunflower Birthday

 

I am playing along with Freshly Made Sketches and with Just Us Girls challenges where it's mood board week. I'm needing a birthday card soon, so thought I could make it work with the sunflower dies from Papertrey Ink. The "stripe" was stenciled using Honey Nut and Dark Chocolate inks.

 

I die cut the florals from Bristol Smooth Paper then color blended using brushes and splattered with gold paint after everything dried. The gold foiled script was in my leftover pile.

INK: Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse, Honey Nut, Cocoa Bean, Dark Chocolate (PTI).

Freshly Made Sketches

 

 

Here's my take for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week! I die cut four strips from my scrap pile then popped the florals with foam tape. I clear embossed after stamping with black pigment ink. Images were watercolored with distress inks and an aquapainter brush.

INK: Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint, Dried Marmalade, Picked Raspberry distress (Ranger); Verafine Clair Nocturne.

PAPER: Watercolor paper (Ranger); Hammermill White; Pink, green, yellow, turquoise scraps.

DIES: Thank You Florals (PTI); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things); Simple Strips (Pretty Pink Posh).

Freshly Made Sketches

 

I'm playing along with the fun sketch for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I got a few new goodies from the last release at Creative Worship Stamps and went with a masculine thank you card. The card base was stenciled with Vintage Photo distress ink over Vintage Cream paper.

Christmas in July

 

While I'm not ready to get into the Christmas spirit quite yet, I did go with a pop up circle card that worked for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and the Little Red Wagon challenge with a Christmas in July theme. I dug back into my Reverse Confetti archives for some 'oldie but goody' supplies. 

 

I pulled some retired Grout Gray paper for the background, then layered a couple of die cut snow banks from a glitter white card stock. 

STAMPS: Christmas Blessings, Triangle Trees (Reverse Confetti).

INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Bubble Gum, Key Lime, Turquoise dye inks (Pinkfresh Studio).

PAPER: Grout Gray (My Favorite Things); Stampers Select White (Papertrey Ink); Glitter white; pink and green scraps from my leftover box.

DIES: Triangle Trees, Holly, Pop Up Circle (Reverse Confetti); Bring Home the Holidays (PTI).

Ocean Breeze

 

I knew when I saw the mood board for the Just Us Girls challenge that I wanted to use my set of shell dies from Papertrey Ink. I used the layout for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and this is the result. I die cut them all from watercolor paper then color blended with dye inks from PTI.

 

I splattered with the blue gold paint from the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors paint palette. The color blended square background was in my leftover pile.

STAMPS: Better At The Beach (Papertrey Ink).

INK: Hawaiian Shores, Classic Kraft, Honey Nut, Fine Linen, Sweet Blush, Green Parakeet, Ocean Tides (PTI); Versafine Clair Nocturne.

PAPER: Stampers Select White, Fine Linen (PTI); Watercolor (Ranger).

Freshly Made Sketches

 

I'm entering this birthday card into the Freshly Made Sketches challenge where Donna has a fun new sketch! Amy Tsuruta's former MIL and friend is celebrating her 100th birthday soon and Amy's goal is to get 100 people to send a card! The lady likes purple and blue, so here is my take on it.

I started with a leftover background panel. I clear embossed the tulip and colored with distress inks and aquapainter brush.

Freshly Made Sketches

 

My card was created using the current layout for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I started with a leftover background that had the mesh and script elements then added some faux stitches and more stamp elements from Vintage Snippets (Creative Worship Stamps).

 

I fussy cut the the flower from the Spring Collage Tag stamp set and die cut the leaves then color blended with several shades of green.

 

STAMPS: Spring Collage Tag, Blooming Tulips, Sew Many Stitches, Vintage Snippets (Creative Worship Stamps).

INK: Melon Berry, Harvest Gold, Prairie Grass, Ripe Avocado, Olive Twist (Papertrey Ink); Saltwater Taffy distress ink; Versafine Clair Nocturne.

PAPER: Rustic Cream (PTI).

Peachy Roses

I'm using the sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and was inspired by the peaches and  cream tones in the inspiration photo for the Cupcake Inspirations challenge. Out of the large amount of patterned papers in my stash, I could not find anything that matched these peach colors. So, I went with a leopard print!

STAMPS: Bamboo Rose (Altenew).

INK: Dried Marigold, Spiced Marmalade, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint distress (Ranger); Versafine Clair Nocturne.

Freshly Made Sketches

 

Another great layout is up for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I started with some patterned paper and cut with the large Love to Layer: Torn Edges die. I sponged edges with Enchanted Evening ink. The two rectangular elements were ephemera from 49th & Market. I gold embossed the butterfly and sentiment and added some navy/white thread.

INK:Versamark; Enchanted Evening (Papertrey Ink).

PAPER: Vintage Shabby 12x12" pad by Tim Holtz; Stamper's Select White (PTI).

I used the new layout for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I had a leftover 'measuring tape' panel so started with that. I used the Diamond Mesh stencil with Bundled Sage distress ink for the card base. A trio of stitched circle dies are behind the daisies colored with Copics after stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card.
