Day 2 Reveals Ink to Paper

It's day #2 of reveals for the July release at Ink to Paper. We are introducing you to Floral Paradise stamp set and dies + Vase Collection 3 stamps set and dies + Stitched in Love stamp set and dies + Feathered Friends 13 dies.

I couldn't stop designing with the new vase and bird of paradise florals and ended up with three cards!

I wanted a soft color blended background and went with a fave combo of Spring Rain and Lemon Tart dye inks.

I love the texture of the ornate cover plate die then I layered up the vase of florals. TIP: When gluing flowers and leaves to a card, only add glue to the lower 1/3 of the element. You can pop up the distal ends with tiny foam dots or simply curl them slightly.

Next comes a heat embossed vase using White Pearl embossing powder (always wondered why it looks more silver than white). 😕

I used a freebie 3D embossing folder that came with my Gemini Junior and edged it with a border stamped with the Loosely Woven background stamp.

I popped up the vase and florals with foam tape for more dimension.

To vary the options for the vase die, I cut it down about 1 1/2" from the top then added the base portion of the die. Omit the second stamp set to make it look like a concrete/ceramic pot. I cut it from a wood grain patterned paper then sponged the edges with Weathervane ink.

I had fun filling the vase with some florals and greenery from other stamp sets (Growth and Sprigs and Sprays). For an interesting textured background, I wove 1/2" strips of paper to create a basket weave look.

Are you still hanging in there? There is one last, but not least, card for today! 

I was inspired by a recent Jennifer McGuire video to create a belly band card. So easy plus it gives a different flair to the routine!

I stamped the stitched designs with Weathervane ink on Soft Stone card stock. The bird was die cut from white card stock then color blended with die inks.
