Color Throwdown #781

 

Welcome crafty friends! It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge with peach, yellow and green. I had a really easy time with my card after discovering two leftover peonies in peach and yellow! I die cut a trio of leaves and added a quick sentiment and I called it complete! The background is a beautiful debossing die from Altenew.

Color Throwdown #780

Hello crafty friends! It's time for another Color Throwdown challenge and yours truly is hosting. I've chosen red, kraft and white for the colors and am hoping you will join us and play along!

I need to get some Valentine cards ready to mail, so these colors worked well to get another one created.

The Love to Layer: Hearts dies from Papertrey Ink were the starting point. I then added a mini collage of elements from the With Love stamp set. The patterned papers are from an old pad called Martha Stewart Holidays.

The heart was popped up on foam tape to add more dimension.

Seize the Birthday

 

Hello crafty friends! I'm so excited to share a card with you as I am guesting for the Seize the Birthday challenge this week! It's all about splatters which is one of my favorite details to add interest to a card. I used distress inks in pinks and yellows (Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed) to create my background.

My go-to method for splattering is to pick up ink or paint from my

glass mat using a small paintbrush that is dampened with water. I then repeatedly tap the brush against my metal piercing tool. I have better control of the splatters when I do it this way. My trial using a fan shaped splatter brush years ago was a total disaster. Some people swear by using them but it wasn't for me!

The crepe banners were die cut from white then color blended with inks I used to stamp the florals on the balloon.

Color Throwdown #779

 

Hi crafty friends! It's Wednesday and that means a new Color Throwdown challenge with blue, lime green and brown. It was a perfect combo for one of my fave stencil sets from Papertrey Ink!

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink onto vellum then embossed with clear powder.

 Two of the medium sized postage frames were die cut and adhered together to give a sturdier, more dimensional look.

The Card Concept Challenge

 

It's a chilly Monday and I'm procrastinating with house chores in order to play along with the current Card Concept Challenge. I took the inspiration photo very literally and used the fun dies in the Spellbinders Tiered Tray Decor set. I added a few elements from Papertrey Ink's With Love stamp/die set (postcard, hearts). The base panel was stenciled using PTI's large dotted hexagon stencil. I layered the tiered tray over the largest of the dies in the Love to Layer: Delightful Brackets die set.

Color Throwdown #778

 

Happy hump day crafty friends! It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge with Lynn hosting this week. She has a beautiful combo of green, blue and kraft for our colors! I knew right away I wanted to use a fave die set from the Into the Blooms series at Papertrey Ink called Christmas Sprigs.

I cut everything from Bristol Smooth Surface paper then color blended with distress inks using brushes. I used dye inks on the berries.

INK: Fine Linen, Classic Kraft, Dark Chocolate (PTI); Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Stormy Sky, Bundled Sage, Rustic Wilderness distress inks.
