Color Throwdown #673

 

We are at the last Color Throwdown challenge of 2021! Broni is hosting and has chosen red, pink and mint green. I strayed a bit within those color families but was pressed for time and just went with this slimline card that I had created earlier for my Christmas stash. It was the first time working with the Slimline Poinsettias set from Colorado Craft Company. All the coloring was done by Zig clean color watercolor markers.

I gold embossed the images then colored with Zigs. Some sequins finished off the design.

Color Throwdown #672

 

It's time once again for a new Color Throwdown Challenge! Barbara Anders is hosting and has chosen hot pink, turquoise, lime green and black for our colors. I went once again with the contemporary trees in the Adorning Trees stamp/die set that was part of the November release at Papertrey Ink. I framed the card with a white leafy border and opted not to glitter it up thinking it would be a bit much with the glittery stars.

 

This "JOY" die is one of my all-time favorites because it's so easy to add a sentiment without covering up much of the card. I love to offset it with a contrasting color to make it pop even more. I also like how there are inside greeting options in Papertrey Ink's store. This one coordinates well with the cover JOY sentiment.

Here is what I used...

STAMPS: Adorning Trees, Inside Greetings: Let Heaven and Nature Sing (Papertrey Ink).

INK: Raspberry Fizz, Green Parakeet (PTI), Peacock Feathers distress ink (Ranger).

PAPER: White, True Black, Turquoise, Green Parakeet, Raspberry Fizz (PTI); Silver glitter cardstock by Recollections.

DIES: Adorning Trees, On the Border: Leaves, Border Bling: Joy Frame (Papertrey Ink).

Gift Box of Cards!

I had intentions of making more than just one box of cards to give as gifts, but not sure that will happen this year - lol! I did really love putting this box together with dies and stamps from The Greetery! They have magnetic button closures that are perfect to complete the box.

I kept the color scheme - blush and gray - consistent for the box and the 6 cards which made it easier when I began the assembly line creating. There are three identical birthday cards since the recipient primarily gives out birthday cards the most. The box is large enough to fit 6 envelopes in it as well.

INK: Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse, Bright Buttercup, True Black (Papertrey Ink).

DIES: Stationary Box, Handmade Labels, Floral Delicacy, Sentiment Suite Basics (The Greetery).

Color Throwdown #671

Hello and welcome to another Color Throwdown challenge! Amy Rysavy is hosting this week and has chosen pink, gray, silver and white. I went with the poinsettia dies from Papertrey Ink to create another Christmas card.

The silver foiled background was in my leftover stash and is a die from The Greetery. I cut all the poinsettias and leaves from white card stock then sponged edges with Sweet Blush dye ink (PTI), added some Nuvo glimmer paste and splattered Tattered Rose distress ink to the petals after first curling the petals to give them some dimension. I wanted to tuck in some white foliage, so die cut the Background Bouquet then cut away some of the leaves.

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Heaven and Nature Sing (Papertrey Ink).

PAPER: Weathervane, White (Papertrey Ink).

INK: True Black, Sweet Blush, Weathervane, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Bright Buttercup (PTI).

DIES: Into the Blooms: Poinsettias, Background Bouquet, Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles (Papertrey Ink); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

OTHER: Nuvo Glimmer paste; Deco Triangles Hot Foil Plate (The Greetery).

Holiday Tags

I wrapped up Christmas gifts for my grand kids early since they are known to check out Nana's closets and now the 7 year old can read which means I have to wrap things asap! 😂 I just love the new Holiday Cheer Tag dies and also the Holiday Cheer Overlay dies that were part of the November release at Papertrey Ink! It makes it very quick and easy to produce a great tag without putting a lot of time into it. The red and ecru twine with a touch of gold is a beautiful way to tie things up! It's now available in the PTI store. BTW...have you checked out the new and revised PTI website? It's great and as far as I can tell, is doing well since it's debut yesterday!

Fusion Card Challenge

Welcome to another Fusion Card Challenge! I was inspired by the geometric rug designs and the large tree with stars and went with a newly released stamp set from Papertrey Ink called Adorning Trees. I did not use the sketch this time.

The trees were die cut from Rustic Cream card stock and stamped with snowflakes using Hawaiian Shores ink. The tree outlines were stamped with Dark Chocolate then Classic Kraft ink was blended over it. The zig zag lines were stamped with Simply Chartreuse - all dye inks from Papertrey Ink.

STAMPS: Adorning Trees, Joyful Snowman (sentiment) - Papertrey Ink.

PAPER: Bitty Big: Hawaiian Shores, Rustic Cream, Luxe Gold (PTI); Glitter gold (? source).

INK: Versamark; Hawaiian Shores, Simply Chartreuse, Classic Kraft, Dark Chocolate (PTI).

DIES: Adorning Trees, To the Point: Edgers (PTI).

OTHER: Queen's Gold embossing powder by Ranger.

Color Throwdown #670

Happy Thanksgiving Eve day! It's Wednesday and time for another Color Throwdown challenge. Yours truly is hosting this week and I've chosen this awesome bird photo with the colors of blue, red and yellow. It shows a little green in there so I had to add some greenery to my card.

I pulled out some old favorites for another card to add to my Christmas stash. I'm still way behind on holiday cards so will need to hustle once Thanksgiving is over. 

I added fine glitter to the starflake dies and layered two sentiment die cuts to give it more dimension. Isn't this little chubby feathered friend just the cutest?! I also added Ranger Grit Paste to the branch to give it the illusion of a heavy frost/light snow.
