Happy Easter

It was a gorgeous Easter Sunday beginning with a celebration at church of our risen Lord!  This photo was taken of a display in a section of our sanctuary.  We then enjoyed a delicious lunch with my husband manning the grill to make the first BBQ chicken of the season - YUM!  We had our oldest son and DIL and our middle son joining us for the day, and it was great to spend the family time together!  Last evening we took our son and DIL out to eat at a fave restaurant in Staunton, VA and while we were stopped at a stoplight, I had a chance to snap this photo of one of my fave sculptures in that city.
No stamping time this weekend due to all the holiday happenings.  Hopefully, I'll be able to get inky again tomorrow! :-)

Good Friday!

It's Good Friday and a good Friday as well! I thought this cartoon summed up really well what this day represents to me...
Looking forward to being off this Easter w/e...my first in many years! Our son and DIL will be visiting from out of town and hopefully our daughter and middle son will be able to join us as well for a cookout on Sunday.

Moving on to my card for today...

It's time for another Raise the Bar Challenge and Joni wanted us to go with a cutesy spring theme, so this Ducky Rain digital image from The Greeting Farm was just perfect!  I printed it on X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics.  This CS is the smoothest and best for Copics out of several brands that I've tried.  DP is from the Splash 6x6 pad from Echo Park.  I love these flag dies by 'Lil Inker Designs and find myself going back to them time and time again.  The sentiment is from MFT's My Basket of Eggs PI set.  Hop on over to the Raise the Bar blog to see what the other designers have created to inspire you with this theme!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a blessed Easter!

Color Throwdown 186

It's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge and Danielle has come up with a scrumptious combination for us!  Here's my card using a Lili of the Valley image...

I used SU's striped EF for the BG and colored the image with Copics.  I love these PTI tags to add a small sentiment to a card and find myself using them over and over!

We'd love to have you join us! No worries if you don't have the exact colors... feel free to substitute colors that are close! Make a card or paper crafted project and post it to your blog or online gallery. Then use the direct link and link it to the Color Throwdown blog using the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of the CTD post. Raise the Bar

Good Friday everyone! This week the Raise the Bar Challenge is going with a religious Easter theme. What better way to symbolize Easter than with a cross image?!  This is a grunge style cross from Our Daily Bread Designs.  They have a separate cross stamp that can be die cut and popped with foam dots to add dimension.  I love to use yellow for spring/Easter themes and love the wee pop of black!  Hope you can join us this week and be sure to check out the inspiration from the other bartenders by going HERE.  If you post to Splitcoaststampers, please use the keyword RTB98.

Poppy Wish

Good Thursday everyone! I started this card after work last night...burning the midnight oil, and finally finished it up this morning. Love to color this quick and easy poppy image from MFT's Flowers 3 set! I used Copics, which you're probably getting tired of seeing,  but since I took the certification class, I'm trying to practice and fine tune my skills. I'm thinking I need to change out the butterfly...not sure I like the layers. The layout  is for My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge in the forum on SCS.

STAMPS: Flowers 3 (MFT), Tiny Tags (PTI)

INK: Memento Tuxedo Black
ACCESSORIES: Butterfly punch by MS, Butterfly Embosslits by SU, Lacey circle Die-Namic (MFT), Tiny tags die (PTI), Satin ribbon by SU, Kaiser pearls, Lace by Flourishes.

Color Throwdown 185

It's Wednesday already and that means there's a new Color Throwdown blog on board! This week,  Broni has some great colors and here is the inspiration picture that she chose...

I colored this wreath of peonies with Copics, cut it out and adhered it to a circle of Regal Rose CS.  Clean and simple!
