PTI September Release Day #1

It's time for another release at Papertrey Ink with all new items going up for sale on 9/26 at 10 PM ET. There will be lots of amazing Christmas and winter stamps/dies/stencils/hot plate items! Today, we are introducing you to Christmas Bouquet stamps and dies + Elegant Edges: Christmas Bouquet dies + Holiday Car dies + Buffalo Plaid stencils + With Great Joy Sentiments stamps.

First up is a favorite of mine with the beautiful new elegant edge die paired with new holiday florals! I opted to omit the "vein" step stamp with the poinsettias and just added some crystal Stickles.
I color blended the inks with each stamping step to give some variation in color. I ink up the stamp with the lighter color then "pounce" some darker color shade on edges with a very small blending brush.

STAMPS
: Christmas Bouquet, With Great Joy Sentiments.
INK: Vintage Jadeite, Mint Julep, Ocean Tides, Pinefeather, Harvest Gold, Melon Berry, Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, True Black.

The inside features a couple of sentiments from the beautiful new With Great Joy Sentiments set.

This next card is a pop up, shadow box style of card that was demonstrated by Jennifer McGuire.
Snow drifts and snowflake edge dies are from earlier releases but the car and tree are new dies.

Snowflakes in the background are actually confetti embellishments.

Color Throwdown #761

Hello crafty friends! It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge and we have Amy Rysavy hosting this week. She has chosen orange, navy, mustard and aqua which was perfect to build up my birthday card stash once again. I started with the Balloon Bouquet die set from Papertrey Ink and went with a slimline sized card.

I used scraps from my leftover papers, so am not 100% sure of the mustard colored paper source. I stenciled a cloud background using Ocean Breeze dye ink from Pinkfresh Studio. PTI is having problems getting Aqua Mist paper and inks (my pad is on the dry side!) so I have to substitute in the meantime.

STAMPS: Hooray It's Your Birthday (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Ocean Breeze (Pinkfresh Studio); Dark Indigo (PTI).
PAPER: Orange Zest, Aqua Mist, Enchanted Evening, Mustard (? source).
DIES: Balloon Bouquet (PTI); Crimped Slimline (The Greetery); Banner Flag STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Cloud stencil from June 2023 Surprise Box (PTI).

Thanks for stopping by! Hope to see your creation in the throwdown gallery!  ~Wanda

PTI August Surprise Box

Good Saturday morning! Sure is feeling like fall here in VA with cooler temps and changing/falling leaves! We've gotten the "go ahead" from PTI that we can share projects made with goodies from their August Surprise Box! Wow...it has some great stamps/dies/stencils plus they add a tool and embellishments as part of the mix. Remember...once these sell out, they are gone and will not be reordered, so snag it while you are able!

I love that this is not just for fall. You can fill the basket with all sorts of goodies throughout the year! I lightly colored blended Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron at the top and bottom of the background. For some odd reason, I neglected to write down all my ink colors - oops!

Next Friday (9/22) we start reveals for the September release at Papertrey Ink. Lots of Christmas things will be around the corner!   Have a great weekend! ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #760

Happy Wednesday everyone! Are you ready for another Color Throwdown challenge? Yours truly is hosting this week and I was inspired by this backpack to use blue, navy and yellow.  Most schools are now open, so thought it was timely to create with the Go To Gift Card Holder: Backpack stamp/die set from Papertrey Ink. I love having teacher cards on hand for the grand kids!

I cut and assembled two backpacks and adhered one to a card base and left the other one free standing. Both have the ability to insert a gift card through the open slot in the top of the bag.  I used the Cover Plate: Apple die and adhered it to an adhesive sheet so it would hold the apples in place to give it an embossed look. I love the details on this bag...so fun to arrange all the elements!

STAMPS: Go to Gift Card Holder: Backpack Accessories (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Pure Poppy, Dark Indigo, Fine Linen, Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean, Bright Buttercup, Limeade Ice, Harvest Gold, True Black, Orange Zest, Amethyst Allure, Blueberry Sky, New Leaf (PTI); Rocky Slope (Pinkfresh Studio).
PAPER: White, Blueberry Sky, Dark Indigo (PTI); Bristol Smooth Surface; Metallic silver.
DIES: Go to GC Holder: Backpack, Cover Plate: Apple, Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border (Papertrey Ink).

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you in the throwdown gallery!  ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #759

Orange, red, gold and maroon are the new colors for the Color Throwdown challenge! Vickie is hosting and chose these colors that are just perfect to create another turkey card. This stamp set was just released as part of the August release at Papertrey Ink. They have SOOO many great new fall items, so be sure to check them out!

I used Classic Kraft for a neutral color and sponged the turkey with Cocoa Bean ink. I love this new leafy frame die and cut two so I could off-set them a bit. The sentiment was white embossed on black. I can't help but smile at the thought of some golden feathers (they look yellow on my photos when in fact they are a metallic gold) on this sweet turkey!

STAMPS: Tuck It Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Cocoa Bean (PTI); Versamark; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: White, True Black, Classic Kraft, Orange Zest, Pure Poppy (PTI);  Metallic Gold; Burgundy (? source).
DIES: Build-A-Turkey, Fun Frames: Leaves, Border Bling: Tin Stitch (Papertrey Ink); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: White embossing powder.

We'd love to have you play along with us. Hope to see you in the gallery!  ~Wanda

Celebrating Your Inner Rock Star

I dusted off an oldie but goody stamp set (Inner Rock Star) from Reverse Confetti to create a birthday card for a music lover. Linda has a great sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and there is a "Make it Musical" theme for the current Seize the Birthday challenge.

I used some of my minimal remaining stash of Aqua Mist paper (when will the paper company ever remake and restock this color?!) and dry embossed stars for the background. The white panel has a foam sheet behind it to pop it up.

The guitar was fussy cut and the records were cut with a small circle die. The red stripes were cut from a Reverse Confetti die that includes multiple frame options.

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!  ~Wanda

Inspired By Sunflowers

I recently was playing with these sunflower dies and had a couple leftover from a previous project. So perfect for whipping up a quick card for the new Inspired By challenge to use sunflowers (or you can opt to use their sketch). The dies are Into the Blooms: Sunflowers by Papertrey Ink and unfortunately, they are presently OOS.

I started with some watercoloring on a portion of the base panel then splattered with brown ink. Flowers and leaves were all cut from white Bristol Smooth Surface paper then distress ink colors were added by "smooshing" them to the paper.

I adhered two hello die cuts together for more dimension plus it is sturdier to adhere to the card.

DIES: Into the Blooms: Sunflowers, Larger Than Life: Hello by Papertrey Ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  ~Wanda
