CAS(E) This Sketch

 TGIF... and it's been a productive one! After lunch at a favorite restaurant - Tailgate Grill in Waynesboro - with our middle son and two grands, we returned back to our house where we assembled and decorated the tree and also decorated the porch entrance!  Nothing fancy but it's hopefully inviting! Temperatures were in the mid fifties today...perfect for dragging out decorations from a back storage building! 

 
On to my card...a get well card for my stash that uses the new

sketch for the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge.  This looks busier than it actually was to create.  I used patterned papers from Pebbles "Cottage Living" 6x6 pad.  Stamps and dies are by WPlus9: Spring Blooms and Sending, Hoping, Wishing.  I love how these flower stamps mimic those in the paper.

 INKS: Bellini, Seafoam, Lead (all by Reverse Confetti).

Christmas Money Holder

I have a quick post this morning of a project that I finished up last night! I needed two money holders for gifts this year and I found a simple tutorial on Pinterest (see photos below). Here is a look at the inside...

I created a plain red belly band to hold the envelope closed and embellished it with 6 layers of snowflakes (two each of the 3 different sizes) using Stampin' Up's Bigz Snow Flurry die. The Frosted Embellishments center is from SU and am not sure if they still carry this item.

My 12x12" Christmas paper supply is very minimal, so I'm not thrilled with the patterns I used, but it will work!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  The sun is out and it's a few degrees warmer today, so need to get some errands completed!  Have a blessed day!

Color Throwdown

Happy hump day everyone! It's time once again for another Color Throwdown Challenge and this week Amy Rysavy is hosting! Check out these neutral colors which can go really festive with the silver element. Since the inspiration photo had a tree as its focal point, I decided to go with this layered up tree die by Reverse Confetti and used Black Licorice (MFT), Basic Gray (SU), and Brushed Silver (SU) cardstock.  

The sentiment die (Winter Words by Reverse Confetti) was cut from a sparkly silver/white cardstock in my leftover pile.  I used RC's Triple Chevies die set for the stripes and broke out this new Grid Stitched Tag Confetti Cuts (oops...see it's OOS) - also by Reverse Confetti.

Fusion Card Challenge

Happy Thanksgiving blog friends! Once you have recuperated from all the festivities, I hope you can find a pocket of time to create along with us for the new Fusion Card Challenge! I chose not to use the sketch and went for a "wrapped package" look to my card...inspired by the pillow in the photo!  I also was inspired by the gray stripes on the chair, so stenciled Hickory Smoke distress ink onto the card base using Altenew's Watercolor Stripes stencil.  Stamps are from two different sets by Papertrey Ink: Holiday Greens and Peaceful Pinecones.

Mojo Sketch #503

A quick post to show you my card for Julee's new Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge that is up this week! I was inspired by the colors on this little pillow gift box I found on Pinterest. The patterned paper is from the Snap!Color Vibe 6x6" pad by Simple Stories.  I used Iced Aqua cardstock from Reverse Confetti for the tag and border.  The sentiment was stamped twice using a MISTI and I added Carrara Marble glitter (Martha Stewart) to cover the die cut snowflakes
(Stampin' Up). 

I love using non-traditional colors on Christmas cards and this one will be used again and again!  Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting.

Color Throwdown Challenge

It's a busy week for many of us with planning Thanksgiving activities, traveling, etc.  There is a new Color Throwdown Challenge which I am hosting this week.  I chose some earthy colors - green, kraft, brown and cream - which hopefully you will enjoy creating with!  I need to replenish my stash with sympathy cards and thought these colors would work well.
 

I dry embossed the Vintage Cream (PTI) card base with an embossing folder by Lifestyle Crafts.  I then used two TCW stencils (Mini Ferns and Mini Well Rounded) with Peeled Paint distress oxide ink and SU's Crumb Cake ink.  Some jute twine and a die cut sentiment (Simon Says Stamp "With Sympathy") in dark brown cardstock finished up this card.

Reindeer Gift Idea

I wanted to share an idea I found on Pinterest that was a quick and easy idea to include into 8 gift bags for the young children of nieces and nephews and also 3 of our grandchildren. We'll all be getting together in Ohio over Thanksgiving and we opted to not exchange gifts this year. I couldn't resist putting together some dollar items into treat bags for the children in lieu of the gifts and included will be these fun reindeer!

I started with die cutting the "body" from kraft cardstock using SU's Bigz Two Tags die.  The eyes are stickers found on a roll at Michael's.  I used my last three glitter dimensional dot stickers for the noses then had to resort to using small red pompoms instead when I couldn't find more of the glitter dots. The mouth was hand drawn.  I put 3 pieces of scotch tape to adhere the candy canes to the back.  I used 1/8" Score tape to adhere the front and back sides of the "body".  These would also make cute favors for your Christmas table!
