Going Green

Julia's Ways to Use It Challenge was to use green on a card, so I combined that with Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge for this week. I used a small note card sized template to create the small envelope. I combined stamps from 3 different sets to finish it off. I really went back to my stamping roots by gold embossing...I don't do it often anymore, but I loved the magic of heating powder to come up with the shiny embossing and wanted to do all the time on my early cards. I had no red rhinestones for the holly berries, so punched out some tiny circles and added Crystal Effects. It's a rainy day in VA and the furnace is running fairly often...guess it is November, but sure do hate to see the beautiful fall weather disappear!

Jeremiah 29:11

I love this verse from the Jeremiah 29:11 set by Verve and knew it would be a perfect fit for the center panel of Roxie's Sketch Challenge on SCS. I also knew I wanted to use some of my Prima stash that I found on my shopping excursion to York, PA several weeks ago. This came together quickly...hope you like it and thanks for stopping by! This card is for the Color Throwdown Challenge (Kraft, Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red, & Marina Mist) and for Jen's SFYTT Challenge. I colored the flowers with Copics and paper-pieced the flower pot. The border is a new PTI die.

Abundant Blessings

Mary gave us some great fall colors for the Color Challenge: Cajun Craze, Peach Parfait, Early Espresso with neutrals of choice and with a dessert option to use rick rack. I had already cut out this new die border from PTI, so I chose to skip dessert. Now THAT doesn't happen too often - lol! This is the first time I inked up this new turkey image from Verve - isn't he just too cute?! I colored with Copics, cut him out and popped him with dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped inside the new flag border stamp by Lil Inker Designs - check it out HERE on Laura Pryor's blog. The layout is for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge...love her sketches!

Mojo Monday

Julee has a Mojo Monday CAS sketch for us today...great for another quick Christmas card to add to my stash! I stamped the image in Cherry Cobbler and pulled some of the CC ink from the pad using an aquapainter. I kept it monochromatic at first, but decided the hat and buttons needed to be green. :-) The glitter didn't photograph well, but I did add it to the snowflake and to the image.
