Mojo Monday w/New Technique

Joan has a fabulous new technique challenge on SCS to stamp with water. I wanted to experiment a bit, so I stamped with my alcohol/Shimmerz mixture and it gives such a lovely subtle sheen to the snowflakes! I first sponged 3 different distress inks on white CS: Worn Lipstick, Peeled Paint, & Tea Dye. I then stamped the 3 different snowflake images (new from Verve) by spraying the stamp with alcohol/Shimmerz mixture. I heat set it, then stamped a few more snowflakes using Pink Passion (I miss this hot pink in the SU palette!) & Old Olive. It's difficult to capture the beauty of the BG on camera, but it really does make a unique BG! The layout is another great one by Julee Tilman for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge. This card also qualifies for the pink/green color challenge on the Cupcakes Creations blog - my first time playing with them. Thanks to Pattie Goldman for letting me know about the challenge! I can't believe my w/e is over already and it's back to work this afternoon. I'm off to run some errands...have a grand day!
STAMPS: Glad Tidings (Verve)
PAPER: Neenah Solar white, Old Olive, Pink Passion
INK: Pink Passion, Old Olive, Tim Holtz Distress Inks (see above description)
ACCESSORIES: Ribbon, Rhinestones, Corner Chomper, MS snowflake punch, Sponge, Shimmerz/alcohol mixture

Beautiful!! I love how your technique turned out. The alcohol/shimmerz mixture sounds like a nice twist. I really love the pink passion with old olive; never thought to use those two together but wow it sure looks fabulous.

Great work with the technique, Wanda. Love the mix of colours and I am now convinced I need that MS snowflake punch even though I have the other one LOL!

This card is so gorgeous!! TFS!! Just a note, though about using the alcohol spritz with your stamps. I'm sure you cleaned them really well after stamping, but for anyone who doesn't know, alcohol can be very drying to stamps and can do great damage (drying out the stamps so badly that they crumble). I've read that one should not stamp with it at all, but I would think it would be OK as long as the stamps are cleaned thoroughly after stamping with any alcohol mixture.
