Shabby Chic

Normally I struggle with shabby chic style cards, but I finally felt like I mastered it with this card! I was inspired by Stef's Decade Gifts website in the Inspiration Challenge on SCS. There was a beautiful blue frame with a textured design and antiqued edges. I sponged Vintage Photo ink on some Tim Holtz DP that already had a vintage look to it then ran it through the CB using the Victoria EF. More sponging was added to the sentiment layers and the distressing tool was used. We learned to make the shabby chic flower out of wide ribbon at our last stamp club meeting (see the tutorial under Jenni's ribbon flower link in the right sidebar of my blog). The layout is one of Julee Tilman's anniversary sketches on the Verve forum. She is celebrating 3 years of her stamp company, so join in for a chance to win prizes by completing the 5 sketches in the next week. I can't wait to see the 8 new sets she will be releasing...peeks will start tomorrow on the Verve blog.
STAMPS: Psalm 121:1,2 Plain Jane (Verve)
PAPER: Tim Holtz Paper Stack Vintage Shabby, Tim Holtz Paper Stash Lost & Found, Neenah Solar white
INK: Memento Rich Cocoa, Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink
ACCESSORIES: Victoria EF, CB, Corner Chomper, Ribbon (SU), Button (PTI), MS twill tape, Sponge, Distressing tool
