Festive Friday Challenge

I'm playing along with the current Festive Friday challenge. My card includes pastel colors, a rabbit, easter egg and basket. Once again I used the In Bloom Egg die set designed by Simon Hurley for Spellbinders. The rabbit and basket are from Papertrey Ink's Easter Buddies stamp/die set. The egg was die cut from patterned paper in the Ink Drops - Candy 6x6 pad by Craft Consortium.

STAMPS: On the Bunny Trail (sentiment), Easter Buddies: Papertrey Ink.
DIES: In Bloom Egg (Spellbinders); Easter Buddies (Papertrey Ink); Stitched Banner STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Pink & white thread.

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by!  Wanda

He Is Risen

It's the season of Lent with Easter fast approaching. As a guest designer for Creative Worship Stamps this month, I knew I wanted to create an Easter card using the Rustic Easter stamp set paired with the Cathedral Window die. Stamps were gold embossed and colored with Copics. I thought a fun little detail was adding jute twine to the cross. The background was color blended with distress inks (see list below).

STAMPS: Rustic Easter (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio, Broken China, Mowed Lawn, Ground Espresso distress; Versamark.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; X-Press It Blanding Card; Stamper's Select White.
DIES: Rustic Easter, Cathedral Window, Foliage (Creative Worship Stamps).
OTHER: Jute twine.
COPICS: Y00m Y11, Y13, YR16, G00, G12, G21.

Creative Worship Guest Designer

Good morning everyone! I'm happy to share that I've been asked to be a guest designer for Creative Worship Stamps (formerly called Sweet 'n Sassy) for the month of March. My very first stamp set I purchased from them is The Sea stamp set and it's still a favorite for lake scenes!

To make the sandy section, I started with Fine Linen paper then used a sea sponge to blot on a darker sandy color. I tore off the edge and sponged around the entire "beach". For added texture, I dabbed a scant bit of glue over the area and added Caramel Latte Tan Fun Flock. The lake panel was blended using Tumbled Glass and Uncharted Mariner distress inks then splattered with water.

I added some tiny shells and tied a sailor's knot with white cording to embellish the design.

The silhouette stamp was them stamped using Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink - a favorite crisp black ink I like to use.

STAMPS: The Sea (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Tumbled Glass, Uncharted Mariner, Antique Linen, Scattered Straw distress; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Watercolor by Ranger; Fine Linen, True Black, Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: Cording; Sea shells; Caramel Latte Tan Fun Flock (Stampendous).

Garden Bench

I seldom use this stamp set (February 2024 Surprise Box) from Papertrey Ink since it has a gazillion tiny dies to assemble. But...when I saw those spring boots in the inspiration photo for The Card Concept challenge, I knew it was the perfect choice! I used the colors as well as the florals and garden boots as inspiration. I'm also using Michele Ferguson's layout for the new Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I tweaked the placement of the sentiment for better balance on my card.

I die cut all the parts from white paper then stamped all the images. This was the time-consuming step for sure.

STAMPS
: Feb. 2024 Surprise Box (Papertrey Ink); Blooming Tulips (Creative Worship Stamps) for the sentiment.
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Turquoise, Key Lime, Olive, Sunshine, Marigold, Clementine, Soft Lilac, Candy Violet, Bubble Gum (Pink Fresh Studio); Fine Linen, Classic Kraft, Canyon Clay, Terracotta Tile, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Harvest Gold (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Love to Layer: Rectangles, Love to Layer: Arches, Feb. 2024 Surprise Box (PTI).

Golden Oldies Birthday

I'm playing along with the The Paper Shelter challenge which has a Tic Tac Toe board for inspiration. I used the middle horizontal row of hand colored image, free and spots or stripes. I went back into my much older, seldom used stash of rubber stamps and used a Golden Oldies stamp and sentiment from Art Impressions.  After stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It Blending Card, I colored with Copics.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

I'm loving these beautiful papers from a new 6x6 pad called Bloom & Wild by Crafter's Consortium (ordered from Creative Worship Stamps). After the different patterns were adhered to the card base, I popped up an oval sentiment after adding some crinkled seam binding. It just seemed fitting to pair that with the feminine rose paper. I'm playing with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #672.

DIES: Love to Layer: Ovals (Papertrey Ink).
STAMPS: Joyful Day (Pinkfresh Studio).

The Paper Players

Hello friends! It's a lazy Sunday afternoon...especially after jumping ahead and losing an hour of sleep last night! I'm playing along with The Paper Players challenge where we are to use a rainbow of colors on our creation. I decided to color blend 5 distress inks onto Bristol Smooth paper then layer with a white Easter egg die cut. I topped it off with an old sentiment die from Papertrey Ink.

INK: Kitsch Flamingo, Spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Squeezed Lemonade distress inks.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; True Black (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: In Bloom Egg by Simon Hurley for Spellbinders; To Die For Sentiments: Happy Easter (Papertrey Ink).

That's a wrap for today! Thanks for stopping by and commenting. ~Wanda

IB...Spring Blooms

The new inspiration photo for the Inspired By... challenge has some beautiful yellow blooms that inspired me! I don't own a teapot stamp that I can remember, so I opted for this watering can "vase" instead. I also used the sketch for a "loose" interpretation of my layout. The minty shade of the teapot led me to Mint and Sage inks from Pinkfresh Studio.

STAMPS: Vase Collection 8, Vase Collection 14 (Papertrey Ink); Chocolate Flowers (sentiment) by Altenew.
INK: Mint, Sage (Pinkfresh Studio); Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf (PTI); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Bitty Big: Harvest Gold, Stamper's Select White (PTI); light and dark green (? source) from my scrap pile.
DIES: Vase Collection 8, Vase Collection 14, Elegant Edges: Lace (PTI); Foliage (Creative Worship Stamps).

That's it for now. Off to do laundry, vacuum, etc.  ~Wanda

Freshly Made Sketches

Karren has a great new layout for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week. I had fun creating a mini grunge collage tag and paired it with one of the encouragement sentiments by Creative Worship Stamps. I crimped the kraft tag layer then cut a second tag from rustic cream paper and tore the bottom edge and sponged all around the edges with Antique Linen distress ink.

STAMPS: Be Encouraged, Texture Tiles 1 (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Antique Linen, Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron distress inks; Ocean Tides dye ink (Papertrey Ink) to highlight the leaves; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Classic Kraft, True Black, Hawaiian Shores, Rustic Cream (PTI).
DIES: Tag Sale #2 (PTI); Foliage die set (Creative Worship Stamps); Simple Strips (Pretty Pink Posh); Stitched Butterflies (Lil Inker Designs).
OTHER: Turquoise thread; Black enamel dot.

Clovers

The Cookie Challenge (If You Give A Crafter A Cookie) is featuring clovers in their inspiration photo, so I used the Into the Blooms: Clover die set from Papertrey Ink to create an Easter card.

The pierced frame and sentiment were popped up with foam tape for added dimension. Florals were die cut from white paper then color blended with dye inks.

STAMPS: Thoughts of Easter Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Bright Buttercup (PTI); Meadow, Emerald City (Pinkfresh Studio); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Thoughts of Easter Sentiments, Pierced Feature Frames, Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Into the Blooms: Clover (Papertrey Ink); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
No sun in sight in VA today...just more rain off and on. Hope your day is going well...thanks for stopping by!  ~Wanda

WAW March

It's a new month and a new Word Art Wednesday challenge. Karen has chosen Jeremiah 17:14 for our inspiration verse. I reduced the image to 40% then printed it and die cut with a scalloped oval die. It's been awhile since I played with using strips of paper for a background. I went with  light and darker coral papers paired with pale and medium blue papers. The floral geraniums are a fun die set released by Papertrey Ink years ago.

After color blending the florals, I splattered with a darker coral shade of ink.

INK: Sunkissed, Mimosa, Mango Sorbet, Grassy Knoll, Key Lime (Pinkfresh Studio).
DIES: Love to Layer: Ovals, Cover Plate: Cross Stitched (Papertrey Ink).

We'd love to have you play along with us! Remember...there is a gift card from a sponsor that will be given to some lucky participant! Hope to see you in the gallery.  ~Wanda

You Are Mermazing!

Christy has a fun theme challenge to use mythical creatures over on The Paper Players blog. It gave me inspiration to dig out an old set by My Favorite Things called Mermazing. I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card then colored with Copics.

The background frame is a VERY old panel that I created using spray stains (I do not know the exact colors). Several of the images were popped up using foam tape.

STAMPS: Mermazing (My Favorite Things).
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black; Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet, Twisted Citron distress oxide; Summer Sunrise (PTI).
