Color Throwdown 203

It's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge and this week Bar has a fabulous FIVE color combo to get your mojo going!
I've been wanting to try out the distressed watercolor dry embossing technique that was posted recently by Mel McCarthy in the SCS resource section HERE.

I started with 90 lb watercolor paper and dry embossed using SU's Manhattan Flower folder.  I lightly rolled Versamark ink (using a brayer) over the raised design then embossed with clear embossing powder.  I then sprayed the paper with water and added some orange and yellow reinker using a brush.  This was my first attempt and I didn't get even coverage of the EP, so I touched up the white outline using an opaque white gel pen (Signa).  It was rather messy, but have to say I like the variegated effect it gives the coloring!

The Color Throwdown gals are thrilled to announce a new addition to our team!   We're SO happy to announce that Denise Marzec, of The Paper Landscaper, is joining us!! Welcome, Denise!  I know we'll see tons of inspiration from her as she shares her creations each week.

I'm also so excited to announce that a good blogging buddy, fellow nurse, and VERY talented stamper - Vickie Zimmer -  is our August guest designer for the month!  Welcome, Vickie!  We're thrilled to have you join us!  You'll want to check out all the awesome inspiration over on the Color Throwdown blog...not only with Vickie's card, but with the rest of the design team!

So...what are you waiting for?  We'd love to see what you create!  If you don't have the exact colors, don't worry.  Use another close color and have fun!  Remember to use the keyword CTD203 if you post to an online gallery.
