Father's Day Silhouette

I created this Father's Day card using the layout for the Card Patterns Sketch Challenge.  Tweaked it a wee bit and simply gave up on the doily die (English Tea Party by Cheery Lynn Designs) working properly!  I started punching out some of the holes and it was so tedious that I left the rest with an embossed look instead. :-(  I have tried adding shims to this die and it simply will not cut through CS!  Grrr!!!  If anyone has the sandwich solution for successful cutting with a Big Shot, I'd be eternally grateful to hear what you use.  Here's an inside view of the card...

STAMPS: Father's Day by Flourishes
PAPER: Antique Cream by Creative Imaginations, Black
INK: Versafine Onyx Black
ACCESSORIES: Corner chomper, Cream grosgrain ribbon by SU, Button (PTI), Sentiment flag die by 'Lil Inker Designs, English Tea Party doily die by Cheery Lynn Designs.

Wanda your card is stunning, Have you tried placing a tri fold piece of paper (not too thick, a low weight cardstock should do) on top of your shims?

Just love this image. Wonderful colour combo and great take on the sketch. Do you have a metal shim from PTI for this die? Works better than paper ones. You can check with Maureen too as she has this die. Think it does involve a lot of punching the pieces out though...

Love your silouhette card! I bought the metal shim from PTI to help with the intricate dies. Works good.
