Hello blog friends! It's time for a new Mojo Monday Challenge and you're going to be angling your way through this one - lol! I went through a variety of different papers from Taylored Expressions' Double the Joy 6x6 paper pack before I finally decided on this combo. Ever have something in your supply arsenal for many months and then one day, you try out the product and then smack your head in wonder that you didn't try it earlier?? I bought a jar of glass bead glitter gel - made by Faber Castell - when a 50% off coupon was begging to be used! It gives such a wonderful sparkle and shine detail and I thought it would be perfect to use with this star stencil by Heidi Swapp.
I added stitched stars and tucked in a sweet giraffe (colored with Copics and fussy cut) from Verve's To the Moon stamp set. It's a favorite set when I need a baby card!

Are you ready for another fun challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges? May's flower of the month is lily of the valley - typically white in color. The challenge is to use white flowers on our creation! Here is my take on it...
I gold embossed the flower on vellum then fussy cut, colored the leaves on the back side with BG34 Copic marker. I stamped the flower again on white CS and cut it out and attached it to the vellum using a light spray of Elmer's Craft Bond. I sponged Coastal Cabana ink using a Tweed Pattern stencil by Hero Arts for a subtle background pattern. I layered the happy sentiment using 3 die cuts - two of Coastal Cabana CS and one of black...slightly offset to give a shadow effect.

Happy Thursday everyone! This is my Friday this week since I have the next 3 days off work - woohoo! This card was created for the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge - a wonderful layout by Leigh!
I couldn't seem to come up with a good symmetrical, geometric design, so went in a different direction. I used Faber-Castell's glass bead glitter gel with a Fishnet stencil by MFT for the background. Love the sparkle this gel adds! I watercolored Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron distress inks on Ranger watercolor CS then stamped and die cut this butterfly by Tim Holtz. The sentiment is a freebie die (with an MFT order) that I've had forever and don't think I've used before. I cut it from Bermuda Bay (SU) and Limeade Ice (PTI) cardstock and layered for a shadow effect.

Check out this fabulous photo that inspired Barbara Anders' Color Throwdown Challenge choice of colors this week - Cobalt blue, light gray, kraft and white! I'm in awe of that water color and would love to put this location on my bucket list! Here's my take on the colors...
I used a cobalt shade of blue from my Pelikan water colors on
Ranger WC cardstock. I wanted something more to add a look of texture, so I grabbed this texture tool from my desk caddy and pounced some more concentrated color on the birds. The wings were popped up with a tiny foam square. I die cut the birds twice - once from kraft CS and the second time from the watercolored CS - then cut the birds away from the branch and glued them over the kraft birds. Here's what else I used...

PAPER: Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake (SU), Neenah Solar White.
INK: Fairy Dust and Silver Lining by WPlus9.

I'm squeaking in at the last minute on the Tag, You're It Challenge deadline! I'm excited to share a fun team building activity that the nurses in Student Health - the rehab center's clinic where I work full time - are heading up tomorrow to help celebrate Nurses' Week. We're having a short skit based on the old Hee Haw TV show. We have lots of country props and we'll be wearing our country garb as we sing 2 of the Hee Haw songs with verses that we wrote depicting some real life happenings in the clinic. Afterward, we're serving farm-themed snacks with tags identifying the treats: Haystacks (Chinese noodles dipped in butterscotch), Hay bales (Rice Crispy rectangles), Pigs in a Blanket (Lil' Smokies wrapped in crescent rolls and dipped in mustard), Pork Rinds, Animal Crackers (dipped in chocolate) and, of course, Moonshine (aka lemonade) to drink!
I die cut 2 tags for each food item so I could have them 'standing up' beside each snack. I added a fence and grass border on each one then popped some animals from MFT's The Whole Herd stamp set with foam tape. I colored with Copics then fussy cut each image. I used jute twine to hold the tags together.

The sun is nowhere in sight this morning...all the more reason to create a sunny yellow background on my card! I was inspired by Stacey's beautiful Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge photo (florals and stitched edges) and am including the colors that up for The Challenge on Lesley's blog - light blue, dark blue, yellow and green! Edited to add: So bummed, but I missed the deadline for Curtain Call. :-(
I started with Ranger watercolor CS and die cut a panel using Lil' Inker Designs'
Wonky Stitched Rectangle die. I used Squeezed Lemonade distress ink to add a color wash background, then stamped the anemone bouquet using Beanstalk dye ink (WPlus9). The anemones (stamped off once with Bo Peep ink before adding the step 2 floral layer) and several leaves were die cut and popped with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment using WPlus9's Fairy Dust ink which is such a pretty light gray shade! Clear sequins were the finishing touch.
STAMPS: Watercolored Anemones (WPlus9), Greetings and Salutations (WPlus9).
PAPER: Bashful Blue (SU), Ranger watercolor CS, Neenah Solar White.

Julee has a really fun sketch for us in the latest Mojo Monday Challenge! Because I wanted to maintain a lot of white space, I chose to use white texture paste with a Concentric Circle Grid stencil by MFT for the corner circles. I used the patterned papers from My Mind's Eye 'A Mother's Love' 6x6 pad...very appropriate with Mother's Day being celebrated yesterday! :-)
Stamps are all from Verve's Be Blessed set. The flowers - stamped with Tangerine Tango ink - were fussy cut and popped with foam tape after brads were added. Leaves were cut from both vellum and Lucky Limeade CS using Verve's Sprightly Sprigs die set and the Rounded Scallop Frame is also another die by Verve.
I'm sad to say that Mary Fish is needing to free up some of her time for other ventures and has stepped down from the Mojo team! She has been a member since the very beginning of the Mojo Monday challenge! I will miss her wonderful, clean mojo designs!
