Inspired By: Gifting
It's a bitterly cold and windy day today. I'm fighting off a nasty cold so I'm hunkering down and created 3 gift cards that are a mini slimline size. Perfect to give cash! I was inspired by the tags and pine cones in the image for the current Inspired By challenge which has a gifting theme. I played with a recently gifted die set from Tim Holtz.
I started by stenciling white ink onto kraft paper for the background. I then added two different layers of washi tape for the "ribbon". I cut all the die elements from white card stock then color blended.

Word Art Wednesday
It's time for a new Word Art Wednesday challenge! This time we have a verse from Matthew 5:14 and it inspired me to create a village of houses on snowy hills. Our sponsor is Lawn Fawn and they will be giving away a $25 gift card to some blessed participant! I used patterned papers from Lawn Fawn's Perfectly Plaid Christmas 6x6" petite paper pack. I loved the variety of fonts on the vertical version of the verse but couldn't make it fit with the scene I had made. I re-typed it in a Word document and die cut it using a tag die.
Each house was backed by Lemon Tart paper to give it a "lighted" look. I debated about coloring the houses and trees but opted for a clean, all white look to give more emphasis to the "lights" in the houses.
Color Throwdown #822
Good Wednesday crafty friends! It's time for another Color Throwdown challenge with the colors of red, green and cream. I'm still needing a few Christmas cards and thought this could pass for one with the "joy" sentiment. I love this Into the Blooms: Wreath die set by Papertrey Ink and layered it over a stenciled script panel.
Here is what I used:

SSS Monday Challenge
The SSS Monday Challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp blog is to "Make It Sparkle". I've been enjoying creating cards using the new Trees 'n Patterns stamps & dies from the November release at Papertrey Ink. This is a clean and simple card with only a die cut snowflake frame with a single tree as the focal point and then topped off with a sparkly sentiment that is an OLD word die set from PTI (I got this so long ago and never labeled the bag it's in, so who knows what it is called - lol).
This is the closest I've found for a substitute for PTI's very LONG out of stock Aqua Mist. The paper is only 65lb which is not the weight of PTI card stock, but...it works OK if you layer it!

Christmas Postage Collage
Hello friends...it's another Monday and a VERY cold one! I created this card for the Paper Players challenge which is a theme challenge - "Be A Deer". It also works for the stencil week challenge at Just Us Girls. I love using the Christmas stencil from Waffle Flower to create this fun collage of Christmas images.

Tic Tac Toe Challenge
Brrr...it's a cold weekend but, I'm in a warm crafting space with football games on in the background. I'm using some leftover die pieces for the Tic Tac Toe challenge. I'm going with the top horizontal row to use wax seal (faux), poinsettia and pink or red. Images were all white embossed then die cut and water colored.
I'm also using the layout for the current Freshly Made Sketches
challenge.A few pics from our Thanksgiving celebration with our middle son, Mark, and his family. It was a very blessed day!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
