Mojo Monday #479

Welcome to another Mojo Monday Challenge! This is a sketch that can be dressed up or down and I chose to keep my card very clean and simple! I love "love" cards and often sell my cards to coworkers.  I thought this would be a good fit for a masculine recipient.  I started by picking out patterned papers from SU's Love Blossoms 6x6 pad.  The tiny scallop border uses a Reverse Confetti Edge Essentials die and the arrow is another RC die that is so great to pair with hearts.  The sentiment is from Verve's "Chevron Love" stamp set and embellished with a stamped heart from the same set (Verve "Wavy Hearts" die) layered over a silver glitter heart (Verve "Jotted Heart" die).

Inspired By...All The Little Things

Welcome back to a new year of fabulous photos to inspire you to create over on the Inspired By...All The Little Things challenge blog!  I knew right away I wanted to use Altenew's Vintage Flowers stamp set when I saw the roses.  The vertical line of the fabric and the touches of gold in the chairs were other elements that inspired my card.

I incorporated gold/white striped paper from Recollections' Blush and Mint 6x6 pad and also stenciled metallic gold embossing paste (Wendy Vecchi) over a watercolor wash of red violet Mijello Mission Gold paint on Ranger watercolor CS.  I used an angled brush in a zig zag motion to imitate the fabric folds.  I tried to keep the watercoloring and Dot Fade Stencil (Tim Holtz) in a generalized vertical line.  The sentiment is from Altenew's Painted Greetings set and was stamped twice with a MISTI using Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I tucked in some loops of black thread so the black sentiment wouldn't feel alone - lol!  The struggle was real trying to decide what color to use with the sentiment. :-)

INK: Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry distress inks by Tim Holtz.
Beanstalk, Last Leaf by WPlus9 Design.

And...a huge welcome to our super talented creative guest designer this week...Broni Holcombe!  She is one of my biggest inspirations with her mad watercoloring skills and fabulous designs!

So, now I'd love to see how YOU interpret this photo!  Link up your creation to the blog HERE and also check out the rest of the design team's entries for more inspiration.  Hope to see you in the gallery!

Snowy Friday!

TGIF and I have a long 3 day w/e off work! How pathetic that I only worked 3 days this week and am already happy to be off again?!  The fact that it's snowing outside now and I'm fighting what seems to be the beginning of a cold might have something to do with enjoying being hunkered down for the w/e!  I got happy mail 2 days ago with the arrival of Concord and 9th's Heartstrings die set and just had to play with it.  I'm using the layout for the new Freshly Made Sketches Challenge and am also playing along with Wendy's "I'm Dye-ing" Free 4 All Challenge on SCS.  I omitted a sentiment on the card front due to the love script in the background paper.  I'll add a sentiment to the inside later on.  Patterned papers are all from Bo Bunny's Crush 6x6 pad.

Stay warm in your neck of the woods!  I thought I'd share this happy face to brighten up your day (at least it brightened up this nana's day)!

Thanks Snow Much

A clean and simple design for two challenges on the MFT Challenge and Inspiration blog: MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge and the current MFT Color Challenge.  Coloring was done with Copics on X-Press It Blending CS after stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Snowflakes were stamped with WPlus9 Sea Breeze and Fairy Dust inks.  Base and snowflake CS is PTI's Tropical Teal.  The carrot nose was colored with Crisp Cantaloupe ink by SU using an aquapainter.

STAMPS: Thanks Snow Much (My Favorite Things).
DIES: Stitched Fishtail Flags (MFT); Snowflake (Reverse Confetti).

That's all for today...off to work in a few...

Color Throwdown #424

The Color Throwdown Challenge team is starting off the new year with a super color combo, thanks to our hostess for the week - Amy Rohl.  Black, hot pink and green are the colors inspired by this gorgeous needlework!  If you have green involved, it's a safe bet you'll see a floral creation from me and that's exactly what I did!

I stamped the florals from Papertrey Ink's "Peonies on Parade" stamp set in Versafine Onyx Black on Ranger watercolor CS then quickly clear embossed them.  I watercolored with Mijello Mission Gold paints which includes hot pink and lime green colors that I love.  The tag was layered on black and popped up with foam tape and finished off with some gold cording.

We're thrilled to have Leigh Penner continue on through January as our guest designer!  Check out her blog HERE to say hello and see her gorgeous card creation!

Sketch For You To Try

A new month means a new sketch on the Reverse Confetti blog for the Sketch For You To Try #44 challenge!  I started with these beautiful papers from Recollections "Blush and Mint" 6x6 pad and used Reverse Confetti's sentiment from "God is Good" stamp set as the focal point.  I embellished with "Leafy" and "Garden Bunch" Confetti Cuts.  I cut two of the "Beautiful Banners" dies so I could extend it beyond the flowers.

STAMPS: Garden Bunch (Reverse Confetti); God is Good (Reverse Confetti).
INK: Mint Macaroon (SU) to sponge leaves; Little Piggy and Sweet Gelato inks by WPlus9; Versafine Onyx Black.

It's back to work time for me this afternoon.  I'm sad to see vacation come to an end, but that's life and that's how bills get paid - lol!

Mojo Monday #478

Happy New Year to all my blog friends! The Mojo Monday Challenge is ready to roll in the new year with a really great sketch by Julee!  My youngest brother had a birthday on 12/31, so this sketch was perfect to combine some masculine papers from Authentique's "Original" Collection with stamps from Verve's "Small Packages" set.  It's always fun to paper piece the cupcake and add Crystal Stickles.

Remember it's contest time on the first Monday of each month, so you can earn the chance to win a free stamp set if you participate - one winner for every 50 entries!  Come and join us and link up your card HERE.  For more inspiration, check out the first 7 thumbnails of cards made by the mojomakers!

The holidays are great, but it's always kind of nice to get back into a routine again. Tomorrow I'll be heading back to work after about 3 weeks off and though it will be nice to see coworkers, I would much rather stay home and have more crafting time! ✄ ✄ ✄  😀
