I was inspired by Melissa Bickford's great layered floral tag and decided to play along with the current Tag, You're It Challenge #55. I stamped the florals (Mini Modern Blooms by MFT) with Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Lucky Limeade and Garden Green inks. The tiny dots were stamped with Bermuda Bay. Patterned paper is from Bo Bunny's Key Lime 6x6 collection and the tag is MFT's Traditional Tags STAX Die-Namics. The sentiment is from the Fancy Words Confetti Cuts set by Reverse Confetti. The tiny scalloped borders are Edge Essentials - also by Reverse Confetti.

Hello throwdown friends! September has already rolled around and before you know it, we'll be gearing up for Christmas! Eeeekkk!! Vickie is hosting and starting off the month with a really great color combo - yellow, black and blue - for the Color Throwdown Challenge! Guess the nurse in me immediately thought of a bruise description - lol - but then I got serious and knew I wanted to ink up these Flashy Florals.
I was inspired by the small gold polka dots in the blue squares of the quilt and went with gold metallic cardstock to die cut two leafy flourishes. I added clear Wink of Stella marker to the Crushed Curry part of the flowers and added black and yellow Enamel Accents to the flower centers. The tiny black clusters of dots are flower center stamps from MFT's Mini Modern Blooms set. The sentiment is a stack of 3 die cuts to give it more substance similar to chipboard.

Can you tell I'm loving the fall colors in this new Lawn Fawn paper pad?! I couldn't resist using two of the patterns for my card for the September Sketch For You To Try challenge on the Reverse Confetti blog. It's pretty self explanatory, so I'll just list what I used...

Woohoo...it's contest week over on the Mojo Monday Challenge blog and Julee has a super fun sketch for us! It was happy mail day last week when the Potter's Clay and matching Pottery Die sets arrived - part of Verve's August release! Love! I wanted the "clay" pots to appear aged and textured and thought a couple of scraps that I had in my leftover pile would fit the bill. It's been so long ago that I did it, but think that the two plain pots were acrylic paints brayered over a gelli print block and then transferred to Strathmore Bristol smooth paper. The middle pot has olive and rust/orange inks brayered over a swirl design embossing folder then run through the Big Shot. Papers were also from my mega leftover stash - Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Kraft and an unknown green CS. The card base is PTI's Rustic Cream CS which looks more white than it is IRL. Some enamel dots and a wee bit of twine finished off the design.

Another quick card post today for two more challenges. The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge for September has a candy apple theme and I'm using the sketch for the current Freshly Made Sketches #252 challenge. This older patterned paper by Recollections is always perfect for school-themed cards. Stamps are from Reverse Confetti's Class Act stamp set with matching dies. I'm also using RC's clipboard Confetti Cuts. The notebook
border punch is by SU. A bit of red jute twine was the finishing touch. As you can see, I changed up the sketch to a vertical version rather than a horizontal one.
For all my U.S. friends...enjoy your Labor Day tomorrow! I will have to go in to work, so it will very literally be a labor day for me - lol!
Sunflowers rank near the top of my favorite flower list! They're not only a vibrant pop of color, but their seeds are tasty as well! I'm playing along with two challenges that took the summer off, but are now back in business once again. The Challenge #76 gives us a simple sketch that has boundless possibilities and Inspired By...All The Little Things #22 has this incredible inspiration photo with sunflowers! I knew I wanted to watercolor with the vibrant Peacock Blue shade from Mijello's Mission Gold palette. The image is an oldie but goodie from Rubber
Stampede called Sunflower II. I colored with Copics then fussy cut and popped with foam tape over the polka dotted border cut with Lil' Inker Designs' stitched border die. The sentiment is from MFT's Label Maker Sentiments set. Some dew drop embellishments were added using SU's fine-tip blue pen. This is my favorite to use with sequins, dew drops, etc.
After a jam-packed day yesterday with cooking, cleaning, laundry, grocery-shopping, etc. for company coming for supper, it feels really good to relax in my girl cave and stamp this afternoon. Hope you are having a wonderful and restful Sunday!
