Curtain Call & Deconstructed Sketch

This is a "twofer" card...two challenges in one card!  The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge has a yummy photo which inspired me by the colors and the dimensional flowers.  The layout is based on a sketch by Amber Hight for the Deconstructed Sketch challenge.  I needed a birthday card for a "young" lady who turned 99 last week!  I'm running late with my best wishes, but guess it's better late than never.  We have picked her up for years and taken her along to church and I'm so amazed at how spry she still is for her age!  She uses a rolling walker and she brings to mind the old Beach Boys' song lyric "go granny, go granny, go granny go" when she comes trucking down her sidewalk!
She's VERY hard of hearing and can't hear much of the service, but she enjoys all the hugs she gets each week!

Back to my card...I love the two and three step stamping going on with Papertrey Ink's Delightful Dahlia set along with their recently released companion set - Delightful Dahlia Additions. I tucked in some loops of jute twine and added some rhinestones, Diamond Stickles and ribbon and I'm good to go!

PAPER: Fabrications-Canvas by Teresa Collins, Vintage Cream by PTI.
ACCESSORIES: Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon by SU, Lush rhinestones by MME.

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge

Fin-eeeeshed!! This is my last DTGD card and it covers two challenges: Eggette and JBgreendawn! It's the first time I recall completing all DTGD challenges - 42 total (if I'm counting correctly)!  I fell in love with Chupa's Saturday Sketchbook Challenge this week...isn't it a super sketch?!  My desk was really a wreck after doing so much marathon stamping over the past week!  I used some leftovers in my stash for this card: the crimped heart, the leaves, doily, and bird cage.  I had most of the elements within arm's reach...it was just a matter of figuring out an arrangement.

PAPER: Bramble Rose (MME), Rustic Cream (PTI), Gold metallic CS, Old Olive, Kraft
ACCESSORIES: SU Embellishments Artisan Kit (ticket, flower, tag, doily), Stick pin by Little Yellow Bicycle, Vintage bird cage die by Poppystamps, Tipsy Heart die by Sizzix, Crimper, Bird sticker by K&Co.

I have a pot of apples cooking on the stove for applesauce.  Time to run them through the sieve...sweeten them up a bit...and garnish with cinnamon for a sweet summer side dish! Grilled tilapia, fresh corn and steamed potatoes are also on the menu for dinner! :-)

Mojo Monday

Another week (and month) has rolled on by, and now it's time for another of Julee's great sketches for the Mojo Monday Challenge! I wanted to give the illusion of the base panel, so I masked off a rectangular area using printer paper, and stamped the arrow border over and over in More Mustard ink.  It's not an ink color I use often, but thought it matched this DP well...plus the arrows pointing upward indicates the direction of my prayers - lol!  I layered a button over a wooden flower embellishment and attached it with a large glue dot.  I ordered sequins from Avery Elle and just love them!  Think I got nearly every color they had. :-)  I love that each color packet has two shades and two sizes of that color!

What else did I use?
STAMPS: Wonderfully Made (sentiment), Borderline (arrows) - both by Verve
PAPER: Blomma by Jessica Swift, Old Olive, White
INK: More Mustard, Versafine Onyx Black
ACCESSORIES: Corner chomper, Sequins, Wooden embellishment (Recollections), Button.

For more details and inspiration from the other mojomakers, be sure and head over to the Mojo Monday Challenge blog!  Remember... it's contest week and you have a chance to win some free Verve with this sketch!

More DTGD Cards...

I used Karen Giron's sketch for her Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and created this card for two more DTGD challenges on SCS: Bevmom and Texasgrammy. The polished stone panel was made using gold metallic ink refill by Tsukineko along with Soft Sky and Mauve Mist reinkers by SU.   The tree is a die by Impression Obsession.  The sentiment die is by PTI.

PAPER: Blushing Bride (SU), Metallic gold, Ocean Tide (PTI), White (PTI).

Getting a few more DTGD challenges crossed off my master challenge list... This card is for challenges by frenziedstamper and Ardyth.  I added a touch of snow to the pine branch and cones and to the grass by adding white gel pen and glitter.  This is a typical scene we see from our sun room as we look outside to our meadow.  The other evening we saw 6 deer at one time!  They are loving our apple tree right now! :-)  I'm OK with that because the apples aren't a variety that is good to eat.

STAMPS: Whitetail deer (Stampendous), Peaceful Pinecones (PTI)
PAPER: Bo Bunny "Father Christmas Collection", White
ACCESSORIES: Grand Madison Window die by Poppystamps, Cloud dies by Lil' Inker Designs, Pine bough die by Impression Obsession, Glitter by Martha Stewart, White gel pen.

This is a quick and simple card created for the DTGD challenge by MrsOke.  Used an old outhouse image by PSX and the sentiment is by Impression Obsession.

DTGD Tag

This tag covers two more challenges (va.sunshine and 1busymomof2) on SCS for the Dare to Get Dirty week! I wanted to use several new colors from SU - Pistachio Pudding in the subtle grunge stripe in the BG and the leafy flourish die; Strawberry Slush for the heart border and the rolled roses.  The splatter stamp is with Pretty in Pink ink.  The kraft heart was crimped and sponged lightly with white pigment ink.  I used Baked Brown Sugar ink on the sentiment then die cut it with the coordinating SU die.  Some sequins from Avery Elle and a touch of jute twine looped behind the sentiment finish off this ready made tag by Recollections.

STAMPS: Gorgeous Grunge (SU), Chalk Talk (SU)
PAPER: Kraft, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush
INK: Pretty in Pink, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Frost White (ColorBox)

DTGD Challenge Card

Decided to tackle 3 more Dare to Get Dirty challenges with this card! I'm playing along with challenges posted by UnderstandblueB, Beate, and Vdutchr.  I distressed the edges and added Tim Holtz' Frayed Burlap acrylic distress paint.  I added the same paint to the die cut feathers and to the doily.  I wanted the doily to look like it had been lying around in a drawer for many years - yellowed from age!  No stamping on this one.  The vintage style photo is by Recollections.  DP is from Graphic 45's French Country 6x6 pad.  I used Karen Giron's layout for her current Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.
