Miracles Blossom

It's good to see a new Color Throwdown Challenge starting up again this week! I always enjoy playing with these gals and this week Tammy is the hostess and has challenged us to use Always Artichoke, Baja Breeze & Cameo Coral. I had this old retired DP from SU and thought the colors would work. The image leaves were stamped in Always Artichoke and the flowers in Cameo Coral. I used Copic markers to fill in the open spaces. A touch of Diamond Stickles was added to the flowers. The blue lace was a find on my recent shopping excursion to Scrapdoodles in Fredericksburg - a fabulous store for stamping/scrapbooking supplies! Hi there!

I should be in bed, but the CC was calling my name on SCS! Vicki gave us some great colors for the Color Challenge: Poppy Parade, White, Gray plus optional ribbon as dessert. I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge for the layout. These colors would be great for a Valentine, but went with a simple hello theme instead. It's past my bedtime, so have to scoot!

Mojo Monday

Julee has another awesome sketch for the Mojo Monday Challenge! I went crazy with combining the different papers from October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker pad - a new purchase from my Friday trip to Scrapdoodles! Loved layering this flower from Verve's Love's Flower set! My 3 weeks of vacation time is over and it's back to work this afternoon! I will be glad to see my coworkers, but my stamping time will be seriously impaired! Working does help support my habit, so guess I should be thankful. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! Painting w/Stickles

The Technique Lover's Challenge on SCS was to paint with Stickles. This requires a lot of patience, so I painted the image late last night and let it dry overnight. I used the smallest tip of my stylus to drag the 'paint' around on the image. My paper was puckered when I put the card together, so will have to lay a heavy book on it for awhile to flatten it out some more. Paper is from the Latte mat stack by DCWV. I used the following Stickles: Black Diamond, Yellow, Baby Blue, Faded Jeans distress Stickles, Milled Lavender distessed Stickles, Peeled Paint distressed Stickles. Martha Stewart's optic dot border punch was used.

I was so happy to see my good blog friend, Marisa (aka WhiteRockMama on SCS) as the featured stamper this week! She has a fabulous gallery with so many great cards to CASE, but finally I chose THIS CARD. Passage of Time

The last Tuesday Taggers' Challenge of 2010 was to use the theme 'Old Father Time' and is being sponsored by The Craft Barn. A lucky winner will get money to spend in their store! I used some of Tim Holtz' DP from his Lost and Found Paper Stash and ran it through the CB using the top note die. I then added some new shabby chic trim I found at Scrapdoodles on my shopping trip yesterday...thought it blended with this old narrow ribbon I've had forever. Happy New Year!

Wishing all of you blogging friends a very happy and blessed new year! I started off 2011 by making a card for 3 challenges:
Crazy 4 Challenges - celebrate something (I'm celebrating life)
Our Creative Corner - use blue & cream color palette, add metal & vellum, thank you theme (my sentiment isn't a direct thank you, but on the inside I plan to thank God for helping a friend through a tough time).
SFYTT - a new monthly sketch by Jen Del Muro.
The sentiment background was stamped with these gorgeous Verve butterflies in Bermuda Bay ink with the smaller of the images stamped off once. I attached the vellum - stamped in Versafine Onyx Black - over the base using metal brads. I'm off to take down some Christmas decorations...outside things will come down first while the weather is warmer then the tree will come down tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend and thanks for stopping by.
