The Paper Players + SSS Monday Challenge

I'm continuing to add to my Christmas stash! This card is for the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge to use stenciling and for The Paper Players challenge to use the lovely sketch provided by Ann.  I started by stenciling the background then added a layered poinsettia die for the circle element. The sentiment is from a "go to" set by Papertrey Ink which has nothing but a great variety of Christmas sentiments.

STAMPS: Christmas Your Way (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Bright Buttercup, Limeade Ice, New Leaf (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Stampers White Select (PTI).
DIES: Christmas Your Way, Into the Blooms: Poinsettia, Ripped Banners (PTI); Stitched Ric Rac (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Watercolor Plaid Stencil Collection (Papertrey Ink).

Freshly Made Sketches

Hope your weekend is going well! It was another gorgeous, mild, sunny day in VA with fall leaves pretty much at their peak with color! I went into winter mode with my card for the new Freshly Made Sketches challenge and decided to go with a monochromatic, soft pink theme.

I die cut two of each of the snowflakes to layer them for added dimension. After lightly color blending with Lovely Lady ink, I added some super fine glitter by Martha Stewart. How ironic that her kitty litter commercial just came on (gotta keep up with the college football games while I'm stamping)!

STAMPS: Christmas Your Way (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Stampers Select White (PTI).
DIES: Starflakes (PTI); Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Winter Magic Stencil Collection (PTI); Super Fine Glitter (Martha Stewart).

Just Add Ink

Stenciling to create a background is something I love to do, so I couldn't resist making a "boy" colored baby card with a stenciled plaid background for the Just Add Ink challenge. I layered the diaper bag (which acts as a gift card holder) over an arched vellum panel to soften up the look.

All the die cuts were made with white paper then color blended using dye inks and brushes.

INK: Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Blueberry Sky, Lovely Lady, Fine Linen, Cocoa Bean (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Stampers Select White, Vellum (PTI); Metallic Silver.
DIES: Love to Layer: Arches,  Go-To Gift Card Holder: Diaper Bag (Papertrey Ink); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Watercolor Plaid Stencil Collection (PTI).

Color Throwdown #816

Hi everyone! It's Wednesday and that means a new Color Throwdown challenge is up and running! This week, Lisa is hosting with the colors orange, cream and kraft. It's a somber post today as we remember Barbara Anders - who preferred to be called "Bar" - who sadly passed away this month after battling pancreatic cancer for two years. She was a great inspiration to many of us in the  paper crafting community and I "favorited" many a card she created! She was a long time member and leader of the Color Throwdown team and was greatly missed after she retired from the team.

I used these leafy stencils once again (they are becoming a fast favorite) using dye inks from Pinkfresh Studio. The background is a lovely texture but will admit it's a pain to have to punch out MANY of the tiny circles that won't come out on their own in spite of multiple passes through both my Big Shot and my Anna Griffin Empress machines!

STAMPS: Sentiment Essentials (Reverse Confetti); Joyful Day (Pinkfresh Studio).
INK: Warm Buff, Misty Coast, Peach Fuzz, Apricot (Pinkfresh Studio); Versafine Clair Nocturne (Ranger).
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, True Black (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Joyful Day (Pinkfresh Studio); Sentiment Essentials (Reverse Confetti); Plane Amazing (Concord & 9th); Stitching Cover Plate (Paper Rose Studio).
OTHER: Joyful Day stencil set.
We'd love to have you play along with us this week!  ~Wanda

This month at The Flower Challenge we are to add a stencil. I was eager to try out my one and only purchase from the Stamptember collaboration run at Simon Says Stamp. I really don't need more flowers, but I couldn't resist the Azalea Bunch stamps/dies/stencils by Altenew!

Pink & Pretty

I'm playing along with a new (to me) challenge on The Cutie Pie Challenge blog. It's a monthly challenge and for October, we are to create a "pink & pretty" card.

This is a favorite die set from Papertrey Ink which is so fun to assemble and create a diaper bag that acts as a gift card holder! I die cut most of the pieces from white card stock then color blended. I layered it over an arched vellum layer to soften it up a bit.

STAMPS: None.

PAPER: Vellum, Stampers Select White, True Black (Papertrey Ink); Metallic silver.

INK: Lovely Lady, Bright Buttercup, Blueberry Sky, Fine Linen, Honey Nut (Papertrey Ink).

DIES: Love to Layer: Arches,  Go-To Gift Card Holder: Diaper Bag (Papertrey Ink); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

OTHER: Simple Stitch Crochet Stencil (Small) - Papertrey Ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by! It's another beautiful fall day in VA. Hope your week is going well!  ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #815

Happy hump day crafty friends! It's time again for a new Color Throwdown challenge with Susie hosting and using the colors of orange, aqua and green. I've sadly never used the autumn accessory stamp/die set that goes with the Top Down Day set from The Greetery. It was high time I got it inky!

I started by stenciling the base panel using a tartan builder stencil. Next, I stenciled a watercolor background with Aqua Mist ink on the arch panel. This VW car always takes me back to the 70's when my very first car was a navy "Bug". 😍

STAMPS: Top Down Day, Top Down Autumn Day (The Greetery).
INK: Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Saffron Spice, Orange Zest, Canyon Clay, Cocoa Bean, Dark Chocolate, Pure Linen (Papertrey Ink); Key Lime, Turquoise, Misty Coast, Metropolis (Pinkfresh Studio); Versafine Clair Nocturne; Bundled Sage, Rustic Wilderness distress inks (Ranger).
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Into the Blooms: Christmas Sprigs, Love to Layer: Arches (PTI); Top Down Day, Top Down Autumn Day (The Greetery).
OTHER: Tartan Builder Diagonal stencil (The Greetery); Watercolor Wonderful stencils (PTI).

Color Throwdown #813

It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge. This week, Broni is hosting with yellow, pink and orange. I used two shades of pink along with the yellow and light orange so I'd have 4 colors to "piece" in the quilt pattern.

I decided to combine the new sunflower edge die (just released from PTI) with the pinwheel quilt top dies by Concord & 9th. The jury is still out on this design - haha! I added tiny pop dots under each flower petal to give it more dimension.

STAMPS: None.
INK: Summer Sunrise, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise, Lovely Lady, Lemon Tart (PTI).
DIES: Elegant Edges: Sunflower (PTI); Pinwheel Quilt Top (Concord & 9th); Small Hello (Simon Says Stamp).
We'd love to have you play along with the challenge! Hope to see you in the gallery!  ~Wanda

Celebrate!

Another birthday card added to my stash! I'm playing along with the Seize the Birthday challenge to use the word "celebrate" and with Just Us Girls where anything goes with stencil week.  I had never used the freebie stamp/stencil/die gift that came with an order from The Greetery when they celebrated their 4th anniversary.

This is a one layer card with the sentiment stamped with Versafine Claire Nocturne pigment ink and clear embossed on vellum.  I first die cut the row of candles then used the candle stencils with dye inks from Pinkfresh Studio (Ballet Slipper, Bubble Gum, Mint, Meadow, Lemon Whip, Sweet Mustard, Marigold).

STAMPS: Make A Wish, Freebie "Celebrate" (The Greetery).
PAPER: Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink); Vellum.
DIES: All Aglow (The Greetery).
OTHER: All Aglow stencils (The Greetery).

We are still on flood watch here in VA with many closed roads in our county. And...today it's still raining though we don't have the high winds anymore. We lost a huge old oak tree that fell beside our garage. We are so blessed that the good Lord had it fall where it didn't fall on our building or on the neighbor's house. PTL he had it fall in a perfect spot!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Have a great day!  ~Wanda
