Freshly Made Sketches

It's Fri-yay and I've got a CAS design using the new BotaniCuts Succulents and the Small Terrarium dies from The Greetery! I'm also playing along with the fun sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I was a little overwhelmed at first with trying to figure out which pieces fit with which of the two sizes of succulents. Then...YouTube to the rescue when I found a video by Betsy Veldman who simplified it and demonstrated ink blending coloring. Check it out HERE.

I'll add a photo of the four pieces that go with each of the two
succulent sizes. Betsy's tutorial is a must see IMO for knowing where to add the colors. I used Distress Oxide inks (Worn Lipstick, Cracked Pistachio, Lucky Clover) and sponged with small daubers. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Simple Strips Background stamp set with matching die. This is one of my fave sentiment sets and cuts 18 different sayings in one swoop! The skinny sizes make it easy to add a sentiment without covering up much of the card front. The ombre paper is from "Cut and Paste - Flair" 6x6 inch pad by My Mind's Eye.

Thanks so much for stopping by...

That's an amazing die. I love you colored it. The terrarium works well on this sketch with the angles leading the eye right toward it. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

Super card, Wanda! Boy, you were one of the lucky ones to get an order placed with The Greetery first thing. I love how your sponged succulents turned out. I really need to invest in some succulent something, but I figure that by the time I do, they will no longer be trendy! Thanks for sharing this beautiful card with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
