Warm Thoughts

Good Tuesday morning! I'm waiting for the piano tuner to arrive and thought I'd post the card I made late last night for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge on SCS. The destination is Terry, husband of sweet Charlene Merrick - a fellow stamper and dirty girl, who is facing quite a list of health problems! The teapotters are hoping to bring him some cheer while he waits for a kidney to become available.   Cindy (aka Mothermark) has come up with a fun group of challenge options based on Clint Eastwood movies! My DH is a huge Clint fan, so these movies were all very familiar ones to me! I chose #5 Pale Color (aka Pale Rider) and #7 Two Tools for Teapot Tuesday (aka Two Mules for Sister Sarah) - the corner chomper and the Big Shot!  This card is very similar to another one I did within the past week.  I just LOVE this glittery CS from SU with its huge amount of sparkle...and it's not glitter that falls off and stays on ME the rest of the day - lol!  I colored the cool dude with Copics, then fussy cut and popped on foam dots.  Yes, I did add a wee bit of glitter to his edges.

STAMPS: Winter Groves and Sentiment Sampler - both by Paper Smooches
PAPER: Blue Christmas by Recollections, White, X-Press It Blending Card, Silver glitter CS (SU)
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black
ACCESSORIES: Bigz Snow Flurry die by SU, Corner Chomper, Die-Namics Fishtail Flags STAX by MFT, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Copics.

Teapot Tuesday

I geared up the Silhouette Cameo for this card for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge and for the Color Challenge on SCS (Pacific Point, Not Quite Navy and Sahara Sand).  The teapotters' theme is to be inspired by church and for this element...you have to see the inside which includes a verse from Psalms 31:24: "Be strong and take heart all you who hope in the Lord" overstamped by Verve's curvy cross.  I'm hoping this will be an encouragement to Dorothea, the destination for this week, as she is once again facing a bout with cancer.  The teapot card shape and the flowers are all cut by the Cameo.  Leaves were punched using Martha Stewart's rose leaf punch.  The sentiment is from Verve's Borderline set.

The Friend Ship

Ahoy there! This ship might look small and innocent, but it's home to the biggest, baddest pirate ever - lol!  It's been awhile since I've attended one of Mothermark's tea parties and when I saw the destination station was a young boy who loves pirates, I knew I wanted to use this Verve stamp set!  Check out all the details for the Teapot Tuesday challenge and join us in sending some cheer to James in Champaign, IL.

I used Jen Del Muro's Sketch For You To Try and kept the card pretty clean and simple.  With the "wood" BG paper, this qualifies for the 2nd challenge in the daily celebration going on in the Verve forum on SCS where they are celebrating Verve's 5th year of business.  Lots of new goodies will be released on August 24 and you can see sneak peeks on the divas' samples.  For more details with Maureen's challenge, please check it out HERE.   I used Vicki's colors for the SCS Color Challenge: Tempting Turquoise, Night of Navy, White.

STAMPS: Text Objects (Verve)
PAPER: On the Bright Side-Two by MME, Night of Navy, White
INK: Midnight Muse
ACCESSORIES: Silver brads, Distressing tool, Die-Namics Fishtails Flags STAX by MFT.

Butterfly Tattoo

It's time for another teapotters' party and this week we are going to a high tea with a twist...there are tattoos for sale in the back of Cindy Lou's parlor! You don't want to miss the story, so click HERE for all the details!  I found this great tattoo on Google images and printed it from the computer.  I used Jen's great April Sketch for You to Try...always love her layouts!  I tweaked it by adding the ribbon.  Papers are from BasicGrey's Kioshi paper pad except for the Plum Pudding (PTI) panel.  Thanks for stopping by...it's good to see the sun out again even if it's only in the 50's outside!

Teapot Tuesday

Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday theme is "Dancing with the Chars" and we are to bring lots of colorful butterflies to the party...and... we're to add some birthday elements.  For the complete story, you'll want to read more HERE.  The destination this week is for the mother of one of the SCS/tea party member's mother, Joan, in Richmond, VA.  She's been homebound with some health issues and so we're going to bring her some "warm fuzzies" in the form of birthday wishes.  I got to inititate a new toy that came in the mail today - Persian Accents Shapeabilities by Spellbinders.  Love the ornate border it creates!  I wove some celery seam binding through a picot edge Nestie die and punched 2 butterflies so I could pop one on top of the other.  Speaking of dancing...I watched the first show of the new season of Dancing with the Stars and it looks like there will be some stiff competition!  Thanks for stopping by!

STAMPS: Big Wish (Verve)
PAPER: Six by Six "Vanity Fair" paper by MME, Chocolate Chip, Vintage Cream
INK: Chocolate Chip
ACCESSORIES: Corner chomper, SU Celery seam binding, SB Persian Accents Shapeabilities, Butterfly punch by MS, Rhinestones by MME.

Teapot Tuesday

It's been awhile since I joined the teapotters in their parties, but didn't want to miss this one! Lydia, the website manager on SCS, has a mother who recently fractured her femur. We are to bring cat images with a royal flair to the tea party this week! Extra points if we bring books...well, my books are still unwrapped in the bottom of the hatbox - lol! Check out Dizzy Lizzy's snazzy new hat here...complete with glittery posies...and some royal jewels (aka rhinestone brads) thrown in for good measure.  The image was compliments of Google images and was colored with Copics.  This card will head to Texas to Virginia from Virginia this afternoon! :-)  If you want more details, check out the Teapot Tuesday Challenge HERE.

Knock Knock

This is a CAS card for the Teapot Tuesday challenge on SCS and it's also for the Color Throwdown challenge to use a rainbow of colors this week. The destination is for the sake of Jake...a 13 y.o. boy from Myersville, MD, who has had multiple surgeries since birth and faces a summer of recuperation once again! He loves jokes and we've been challenged to bring a smile to Jake's face! I went with a rainbow of ice cream cones and included this knock, knock joke for him.

PAPER: Summer Days by Echo Park
ACCESSORIES: Puffies embellishments, Foliage die by Spellbinders, Long Oval Nesties, EK Success border punch.

Teapot Tuesday

It's been determined that the teapotters can't count, so mudder is asking us to use numbers on our card so we can practice. Mrs. Estelle T. Stump, the grumpy schoolmarm, must have passed me on this card - you can see she gave me a star! :-) This will be sent to a secret destination...wonder who will get "tickled" to get this card... For more details to the story, please visit the Teapot Tuesday challenge on SCS.
STAMPS: Tiny Tags (PTI)
PAPER: DP by SU, Vintage Cream, Black, Simply Chartreuse
INK: Versafine Onyx Black
ACCESSORIES: Twill tape & button to create flower, Foliage die by Spellbinders, Satin ribbon, Labels Twenty One Nesties.

Teapot Tuesday

This week, the teapotters can bring horses, bicycles, or nurses...AND we HAVE to bring flowers. The destination is Jessica in Orangeville, CA, daughter of Mutnik (Cathy), one of the regular partiers. Jessica had an unfortunate accident where she was thrown from a horse and her 2 "good Samaritans" were a nurse and a bicyclist. For more of Mothermark's story...please check out the thread HERE. I decided to bring Florence to care for Jessica, so her stay in the "horsepital" would be short-lived! :-) Florence was colored with Copics and her apron was paper-pieced. I couldn't fit the sentiment as a single line, so cut up the words and staggered them to fit. TFL!
Here's what I used:
STAMPS: Best Medicine (MFT)
PAPER: Odds & Ends Mini Deck by Cosmo Cricket, Real Red, White
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black
ACCESSORIES: Large scallop Die-namic (MFT), Gingham stretch lace, Felt prima, Leaf die by Sizzix, Wonky rectangle Nestie, Copics, Adhesive pearls.

SC & MMTPT

There's no back door for the tea partiers this week...we're headed to the beach where Huck Owens and Skinny Pearl (can you guess who their grandparents might be?) will be recruiting rock stars to cross over to the country scene! They already had 42,000 guitars, so I brought some purdy sea shells instead! The destination is Anthony in Levvitown, PA who is facing a long recovery period following an accident. We all wish him nothing but sunny days! For more of the story...go to this link. I used Roxie's great layout for the Sketch Challenge on SCS. Here's what I used:
STAMPS: Stipple Shells (SU), Let it Shine (Verve)
PAPER: Seaside by October Afternoon, Vintage Cream
INK: Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Green Galore
ACCESSORIES: MS sea shell border punch, Swirls EF, Baker's twine.

Peas Get Better Soon

It's getting late, so will make this a quick post! Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge is to bring veggies...or...anything that will help a garden grow. The destination is Debbie in Oviedo, FL, who is in need of some postop cheering up. For more details, go to this link to read the whole story! I used Jen's May sketch for Sketch For You To Try.
STAMPS: Baby Button Bits (PTI); sentiment was computer-generated.
PAPER: Garden Variety by Cosmo Cricket.
INK: Wild Wasabi.
ACCESSORIES: Blossom & Circle Nesties, Buttons, Rickrack.

Teapot Tuesday

The teapotters are to bring cottages and flowers this week...cottages for the royal newlyweds to peruse for a possible future home and flowers to keep Realtor Rose happy! For all the details of Mothermark's adventure, you can read more HERE. I had no cottage images in all my gazillion stamps, so had to resort to this DP from SU's Welcome Neighbor pack. A bit of floral trim, a couple of Verve flowers with brads and some die cut leaves made this a quick and easy one!
STAMPS: Hope Blooms (Verve)
PAPER: Pumpkin Pie, Welcome Neighbor 6x6 pad (SU)
INK: Versafine Onyx Black
ACCESSORIES: Trim by Wrights, Brads by American Crafts, Foliage Shapeabilities by Spellbinders.
This week's card destination is to Charlotte in Everett, Washington...a friend of a fellow teapotter who is in end stages of cancer and could use some cheering up.
Don't forget to join in the Last But Not Least sketch challenge on Deb Horst's blog...we'd love to have you play with my sketch...you have until the end of May to join in!

Hello Friend

This card was created for 4 different challenges:
SCS Color Challenge - Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze (dessert option: embossing)
Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge- Karen Giron's sketch
Shabby Tea Room - butterflies
MMTPT143 - teapotters have lots of free rein for this week's tea party! To see the complete wacky story, click on the link HERE. I'm bringing Beverly Butterfly to the party. She's decked out in fancy glitter and velvet polka dots (just to impress) ever since she called mudder the Queen of Breaking Challenge Rules. She's feeling rather guilty and is now kissing up to mudder with this fancy disguise! So this week's destination is fellow teapotters and I'm planning to play along. Wonder who my gallery neighbor will be...Hmmm...

STAMPS: Faithful Phrases (Verve)
PAPER: Green Tea (SU), Baja Breeze, White
INK: Soft Sky (used to sponge the tag), Baja Breeze, Versafine Onyx Black
ACCESSORIES: Butterfly embellie by Recollections (Mike's), Half pearls, Lace trim, Grommet and Fancy Labels 2 dies from Spellbinders, Plaid EF by Sizzix.

Easter Blessings

For my FYI challenge entry, please scroll down to the second post!
Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge was to bring tulips for Kay...a soon to be 91 year old lady who is hospitalized for a prolonged time and needs some cheer! For the complete story about Shelly Mae Shulep who drinks mint juleps from a tulip, click HERE. Kim's Ways to Use It challenge was to use ovals on a card, so here you have an Easter card with oval Nesties as the focal point. The tulips were colored with Copics and cut out. Lace, seam binding and pearls finished this off.
STAMPS: Everlasting Life (Verve), Tulip Corner (ODBD)
PAPER: Lilac Avenue Collection (KaiserCraft), Lemon Tart (PTI), White
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black
ACCESSORIES: Adhesive pearls, MS seam binding, Oval Nesties, Lace, Copics (Y11, Y13, G40, G82, BV11, BV13).

Teapot Tuesday

This is my second Tuesday post...always love to join in the Teapot Tuesday challenge by Mothermark on SCS. This week's destination is Tom in Greeley, Colorado - a 62 y.o. mentally challenged man with Down's Syndrome. Tom loves to get mail and he loves guitars and cars, so this card is highlighting one of his loves. The music BG has a very muted, distressed appearance, so went with distressing and sponging the edges. The sentiment and image was embossed with copper EP. Some twill tape tabs and punched stars with bling finish it off. The layout is a sketch by Karen Giron for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.
STAMPS: Jazzed Up (SU)
PAPER: Autumn Vine (SU), Music DP by Creative Imaginations

Cat's Meow

The basketball game is over...it was a weird one for a championship game...very low-scoring...but UConn prevailed in spite of a pesky Butler defense! I wasn't quite ready for bed, so made a quick card for the following challenges:
Color Challenge on SCS: Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze
Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday: use cat images with the destination going to Linda in Emmet, Idaho, who has faced multiple spinal fusion surgeries following a fall down some stairs.
JUGS - sketch
Cat stamps were not to be found in my stash, so I went to Google images and printed this fine feline and colored with Copics. I skipped the seam binding option and went for a little touch of twine instead. It's time to call it a day. Nite all!
PAPER: The Thrift Shop (October Afternoon), Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, Neenah Solar white
ACCESSORIES: Grass & rickrack border dies by MFT, Baker's twine, Crystal Effects, Copics.

Teapot Tuesday & CC

I still had this DP on my desk from yesterday's card when I checked the Color Challenge on SCS - I jumped with joy! Julia chose Marina Mist, Baja Breeze & Certainly Celery - perfect to use this same DP! The optional dessert was to use a bird on our card. The Teapot Tuesday Challenge is to create a girly girl, feminine card with ribbon...we can't get in the door to the party unless we bring ribbon! All girls like some bling and flowers, so had to add those embellishments! The destination is a fellow stamper, Ashley Finical from Mt. Vernon, IN, that lost her stamping supplies when her house was recently flooded. Not only will I send her this card, but I intend to send a box of supplies as well! Can you imagine her postal carrier when these packages start arriving - lol! I used Karen Giron's great sketch for the layout. I love this sentiment by Emily Dickinson and wanted to use it as the focal point. What else did I use?
STAMPS: Feathered Hope (SU)
PAPER: TC Cottage Garden by K&Co, Pear Pizzazz, Pacific Point, Neenah Solar White
INK: Versafine Onyx Black, Chocolate Chip (to sponge the bird's edges)
ACCESSORIES: Adhesive rhinestones (Michael's), Mini rolled roses dies, 2-step bird punch (SU), Sheer ribbon.

Teapot Tuesday

This card is for 3 challenges:
SCS Color Challenge - Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze.
Sweet Stop Sketch - a great sketch by Korin of Sweet n Sassy Stamps.
Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday - use a frame. The destination is Haeli, a 6th grade girl in Canton, OH, who is fighting ovarian cancer. She loves art, horses, the color blue and music, so the color challenge was perfect to combine with the frame and horse. The horse image is an old one that my daughter used to play with by The Stamp Pad Co. The frame is from Verve's To the Moon set.
PAPER: DP by SU, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
ACCESSORIES: Crumb cake seam binding (SU), Vintage flower adornment (SU), Scallop punch (SU)

Toadally Teapot Tuesday

The teapotters are letting their hair down and going dancing at the Roxbury this week! We're celebrating Roxie's faithfulness in bringing us over 300 sketch challenges on SCS, so this card is to say "Thanks tu-tu you, Roxie!" I'll have to sneak in the back door, because Mother has told us not to dress up this week. Tillie Toad...a long time fan of Barbara Bush...simply can't go anywhere without her pearls, and when she goes dancing, she has to wear her favorite Concord Crush tutu! This card is also for the Color Challenge on SCS...brought to us this week by Karen - the queen of black magic! Along with Concord Crush, we are to use Pear Pizzazz and Bashful Blue. The image was printed from a Google image and colored with Copics. I had some embroidery trim that worked perfectly to accent the tutu. Liquid Pearls were added to the..well..pearls! Since this was honoring Roxie's sketches, I HAD to use one of hers for the layout. Gotta go...it's time to boogie!

Teapot Tuesday

Julia has picked some awesome colors for this week's Color Challenge on SCS: Rose Red, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery with the dessert option to use banners. I cheated and picked out DP with banners in the pattern. This is also for MMTPT Challenge to create a sports related card with the destination being a young man in Farmington, New Mexico who is recuperating from severe burns from an accident. His faith and his coaching are top interests in his life and I'm hoping this great verse from Psalm 3:3 will be an encouragement to him. I really dug into my stamp archives for this OLD sports stamp by Delafield Stamp Co. Some distressing, twine, pearls and ribbon tabs completed this card.
PAPER: Fine & Dandy (My Mind's Eye), Neenah Solar White, Certainly Celery
INK: Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red
ACCESSORIES: EK Success border punch, MFT die-namic star border, Kaiser silver pearls, Baker's twine, Distressing tool, Spiral border punch (SU), Sponge, Corner chomper, Certainly Celery ribbon (SU)
