Sketch Saturday

I'm playing along with the current Sketch Saturday challenge with another card made from the Chocolate Flower kit from Altenew. I'm loving the deep texture that the 3D embossing folder adds plus the colors are a favorite for me. I was inspired by Little League baseball uniforms of all things! My husband and I enjoy watching these tournament games and I am often crafting as I have the TV on in the background. When trying to decide on colors, I saw the aqua and yellow uniforms and knew that was my choice! 😂

First, I stenciled the florals with dye inks then ran them through my Big Shot. It still amazes me that one large die cuts out ALL the flowers and leaves in one swipe!

STAMPS: Chocolate Flowers (Altenew).
INK: Lemon Whip, Sunshine, Sweet Mustard, Mint, Meadow, Waterfall, Turquoise, Paradise (Pinkfresh Studio); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Hawaiian Shores (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Zero-Waste Chocolate Flowers (Altenew); Reflections: July (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: Zero-Waste Chocolate Flowers stencils, Chocolate Flowers Geometric 3D embossing folder (Altenew).
That's it for now. Hope you are having a wonderful, relaxing Sunday!  ~Wanda

Stamping on Saturday

Hi everyone! I'm sure no one else has ever procrastinated with housework and stamped intead?! That's exactly what I did this morning after checking out two different challenges and wanting to play along! I'm using the Sketch Saturday layout along with getting inspiration from this fun holiday photo at Just Add Ink.

I thought I'd add another early Christmas card to my stash and used
the Peaceful Forest stamp set from Ink to Paper. I stamped the trees in Sweet Blush, Lovely Lady, Raspberry Fizz, Aqua Mist, and Tropical Teal dye inks from Ink to Paper. I was especially drawn to the shades of pink and the aqua colors in the photo. The sentiment is from The Greetery's Sentiment Suite: Christmas set.

That's it for now! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

Sketch Saturday

I was itching to make another card with this great new bird die from Ink to Paper and came across a great sketch for the current Saturday Sketch challenge! I had to flip the layout because of the bird's positioning.

The stenciled background strip was a leftover piece using Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron distress inks and a hexagon stencil.

I used blending brushes to add colors after die cutting all the bird parts from white card stock. The florals were two step stamped images from Ink to Paper's Framing Florals stamp set.

STAMPS: Framing Florals, Feathered Friends Mini 1 (Ink to Paper).
PAPER: White, Hawaiian Shores, Green Parakeet (Ink to Paper).
INK: Berry Sorbet, Lovely Lady, Pure Poppy, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse (dye inks by Ink to Paper used on florals); Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bough distress oxide inks by Ranger.
DIES: Feathered Friends 1, Framing Florals (Ink to Paper).
OTHER: Enamel dots, Hexagon stencil by Papertrey Ink.

It's a day with having a plumber in the house! Both commodes were replaced with "high rise" models - lol! Oh, the joys of aging. We are also finally getting the water filter (a Christmas gift) installed in the kitchen sink faucet and it will be connected to our frig as well.  Fun times. Have a great day everyone!  ~Wanda

JUGS & Sketch Saturday

I threw this card together very quickly for the Sketch Saturday challenge and the Just Us Girls challenge where it's color week - mint green, gray and white. Once again, I reached for this awesome collaboration set - Wonderful You - put together by Reverse Confetti and Simon Says Stamp for their STAMPtember celebration. I just checked their website and sadly, this set is no longer in stock and it won't be replenished. Once the collaboration sets are gone, they are gone! :-(

I used Pistachio Pudding (SU), Mint Macaron (SU), Silver Lining
(WPlus9), and Memento Tuxedo Black inks to stamp the leafy sprig images. The sentiment was white embossed with Versamark ink and Pure White EP by Altenew. A SU button with white thread was the only embellishment.

DIES: Stitched Fishtail Flags STAX Die-Namics by My Favorite Things; Wonderful You by Reverse Confetti and Simon Says Stamp.

It's a beautiful fall day with temps in the mid 70's here in VA! My kind of day!

Sunday Sunflowers

It was a leisurely Sunday afternoon yesterday and I was in my stamp room happily creating with these lovely sunflower dies from The Greetery!  I'm entering this into the Sketch Saturday and Sunday Stamps challenges which was a color challenge this week.

I water colored on Ranger cardstock with Mijello Mission Gold
paints (love their vivid shades of color!) then die cut the different layers. I love the crimped kraft panel behind the florals and need to remember to do this more often!  I really love all the tiny sentiments that Betsy Veldman includes in her Sentiment Suite series of stamps. They are so perfect to add to a tiny tag! Here is what I used...

STAMPS: Sentiment Suite: Thank You by The Greetery.
PAPER: Vintage Cream, Rustic Cream, Kraft by Papertrey Ink.
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black.
DIES: Crimped Frames, Sentiment Suite Basics, Sunflowers by The Greetery; Stitched Rectangle Die-Namics by My Favorite Things.

Hope your Monday is a great start to your week!  Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting.                     ~Wanda

Sketch Saturday

I love the layout that is currently up for the Sketch Saturday challenge! I vary in my "starting points" for creating a card but this one was totally the new paper pad - Authentique's "Poised" 6x6" pad. I love yellow and black together, so this one spoke to me when I recently sent in an order to Simon Says Stamp.

If you haven't noticed by now, you'll see I've become a big fan of Betsy Veldman's new company "The Greetery"!  Her fonts are fabulous and her layering stamps and dies are so easy to work with! She has a new release for August that will be available Friday and I'll just say that my budget will be taking another hit - lol!

I wanted the sentiment to be the focal point and paired it with this awesome sunflower die. I watercolored with Zigs but the bottom layer was way too yellow, so I re-cut that layer and sponged with So Saffron and More Mustard (SU) inks and that blended better with the paper colors. I also lightly sponged some Mustard ink on the middle layer of petals.

STAMPS: Comforting Commands (The Greetery).
PAPER: Poised 6x6 pad by Authentique; True Black, White by PTI; Water color paper by Ranger.
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black.
DIES: Sentiment Suite Basics and Sunflower by The Greetery; Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics by My Favorite Things.

This would be a great card of encouragement and I have the perfect recipient in mind for it! Stay cool everyone...         ~Wanda

Sketch Saturday

OK...confession time here! I am struggling big time to be successful with the succulent dies by The Greetery! I've watched Betsy Veldman's watercoloring video at least 3 times but my attempts at watercoloring are awful! I finally decided to just sponge the tips of the succulents after die cutting the pieces from colored cardstock.

I sponged the edges with Shaded Lilac distress oxide ink. The tiny beaded succulent was sponged with Always Artichoke ink.

STAMPS: Sentiment Suite: Thinking of You (The Greetery).
PAPER: Tropical Teal, True Black, Kraft,White (Papertrey Ink).
DIES:  Succulents, Small Terrarium, Crimped Frame (The Greetery); Stitched Circle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

I'm entering this into the Sketch Saturday challenge.

That's all for now...I'll keep trying to master those succulents! :-)

DTGD Goes Monochromatic

I couldn't resist another card for the DTGD challenge by whippetgirl on Splitcoaststampers! While I can't reveal the details because this special week is for fan club members only, you can easily join in the fun by checking out the link HERE. I had this paper pad - Vintage Finds by Teresa Collins - on my desk from a previous project and decided to use a couple of the saffron colored patterns for this one. I'm also using the great layout for the Sketch Saturday challenge.

STAMPS: Fleur Impressions, Sentiment Suite: Birthday - both by The Greetery.
INK: So Saffron, More Mustard, Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar - by Stampin' Up; Memento Tuxedo Black.
DIES: Stitched Oval by Lil' Inker Designs; Stitched Sentiment Strips and Stitched Ric Rac by My Favorite Things; Fleur Impressions by The Greetery.

Sketch Saturday

The Sketch Saturday challenge is a nice and simple layout that was perfect to use this panel of wide washi tape by Altenew. The sentiment - Doodle Buds by WPlus9 - has a light and airy, feminine feel to it which pairs up perfectly with this pretty floral background.

All of the stitched dies (circle, rectangle, fishtail flags) are from My Favorite Things.  So quick and easy!

HB2U

You can never have enough birthday cards in your stash...especially for masculine recipients! I am playing along with Just Us Girls where it's photo week and I was inspired by the balloons and birthday theme!  I'm also using the sketch for the Sketch Saturday Challenge.

I started with a base of Yupo paper with alcohol inks swiped
horizontally for a subtle striped effect.  Unfortunately, I nearly covered it all up so it's difficult to see the striped variations of color. I used scraps of cardstock that blended with the alcohol inks then hand doodled strings onto the balloons.

STAMPS: Whole Shebang (CAS-ual Fridays).
INK: Versafine Onyx Black (stamped x 3 using MISTI).
DIES: Stitched Squares and Rectangle STAX (My Favorite Things); Balloons (Simon Says Stamp).

Are you enjoying the March Madness of all the basketball games throughout the US?  Our two top teams are playing later today (UVA and VA Tech), so I'll be getting into cheer mode then! Hopefully, they will make it into the Sweet Sixteen group of teams!
