Stencils Are Our Game!

I pulled out these stamps/stencils/dies from Kristina Werner's line (Long Line Roses) at Concord & 9th. I love that I could completely color these florals using only stencils with dye inks and brushes! There is also a subtle diamond mesh stenciling on the background. I'm entering this into the "Crazy is our fame - STENCILS are our game!" challenge. I chose not to include the optional theme of butterflies. My card measures 5"x 6.5".

STAMPS: Long Line Roses (Kristina Werner for Concord & 9th); Script Sentiments (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise (Papertrey Ink); Versafine Clair Nocturne.

Word Art Wednesday

Welcome to another Word Art Wednesday challenge. I chose to use one of many acrylic scripture stamps in my stash from Papertrey Ink which rarely get inked up. It's been weeks since I've made a card due to ongoing hospitalization of my husband and then his eventual passing on May 18. The verse is from Romans 15:13 and focuses on the hope we can have when we trust in God.

STAMPS: Reflections: July (Papertrey Ink).
INK: New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Pinefeather, Lovely Lady, Berry Sorbet, Bright Buttercup, Raspberry Fizz (Papertrey Ink); Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink.
PAPER: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Into the Blooms: Roses, Reflections: July (Papertrey Ink); Crimped Slimline die (The Greetery).
OTHER: Clear enamel dots (Waffle Flower).

I die cut all the roses and leaves from Vintage Cream paper then color blended with brushes using dye inks. I splattered leaves with Pinefeather ink and the roses with Razzberry Fizz ink.

Here's hoping you can join us in this challenge. Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

CWS Masculine Card

I was inspired by the masculine card blog hop that the Creative Worship Stamps team posted today and decided to play along. I went with a blue/brown color palette which seems to be a masculine option IMO. I blended some Classic Kraft ink around all the edges and splattered some Stormy Sky distress ink onto the background. After clear embossing over Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, I used an aqua painter brush to color the butterfly with Stormy Sky and Brushed Corduroy distress inks.

STAMPS: Spring Collage Tag, Made New (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Stormy Sky, Brushed Corduroy distress inks; Classic Kraft (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Rustic Cream, Classic Kraft, True Black (PTI).
DIES: Spring Collage Tag, Made New (Creative Worship Stamps); Pierced Feature Frames, Love to Layer: Torn Edges (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: Blue metallic brads; Clear embossing powder; Jute twine; Button.

Chevy Birthday

Needed another masculine birthday card for a car lover, so out came the Spellbinders stamps/dies for another Chevy creation. It also fits for the masculine theme happening at The Paper Players challenge (oops...I missed the deadline) and it fits for the Festive Friday challenge (stencils, gears, vehicles). I had to go with a 5"x7" card size to be able to fit all the elements onto the front.

The car takes a awhile to assemble so this entire card was labor intensive! I love the gear stencil with Weathervane ink for the background.

STAMPS: Cruisin' By Sentiments (Spellbinders).
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Weathervane (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Stampers Select White, Soft Stone, True Black, Pure Poppy, Weathervane (Papertrey Ink); Metallic silver; Aqua Sky (Concord & 9th); Pool (Foiled Fox).
DIES: Classic Car, Speedometer (Spellbinders); Slanted Shortcuts (Concord & 9th).
OTHER: Grunge Gears stencil (Creative Worship Stamps).

That's all for now. Sun is out after a ferocious thunderstorm last PM! Enjoy your weekend!  ~Wanda

Word Art Wednesday

Welcome to another Word Art Wednesday! We are nearing Father's Day and this verse references "mighty men". I computer printed the verse at 50% size onto some patterned paper. I die cut the background using a torn edge die then sponged the edges with Enchanted Evening ink. I stenciled with the burlap stencil using Broken China distress ink. All the images were from Tim Holtz' The Journey stamp set. It included 2 arrow stamps which fit the verse perfectly.

PAPER: Vintage Shabby 12x12 pad (Tim Holtz idea-ology); Stampers Select White (PTI).

Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

I needed a break from all the paper work that happens after a spouse's death, so what better way to relax than to create a card?! I pulled this leftover background of layered stamping paired with Liquitex light modeling paste and a dot stencil. I clear embossed a large echinacea and used an aqua painter brush and some distress inks to color it. I'm entering this into the The Paper Players tic-tac-toe challenge using the vertical row of die cut, stenciling and layers.

STAMPS: Patient Echinacea, Spring Collage Tag (Creative Worship Stamps); French Market (Tim Holtz Visual Artistry Collection by Stampers Anonymous).

Word Art Wednesday Ps. 147:4

Good Wednesday everyone! Welcome to another Word Art Wednesday challenge with Psalm 147:4 as our inspiration verse. It's all about stars so that made it easy to begin.
I stenciled the background with Speckled Egg distress ink using the Night Sky Background stencil from Papertrey Ink. I then die cut the middle sized frame called Border Bling: Skinny Star (PTI). The silver glitter, silver mirror and silver matte stars were die cut with an old die set by My Favorite Things. I computer generated the sentiment at 45% on Sno-Cone paper by Cardstock Warehouse Paper Company.

Hope you can play along for a chance to win a gift card from our generous sponsor! Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Peachy Roses

I'm using the sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and was inspired by the peaches and  cream tones in the inspiration photo for the Cupcake Inspirations challenge. Out of the large amount of patterned papers in my stash, I could not find anything that matched these peach colors. So, I went with a leopard print!

PAPER: Vintage Cream, True Black (Papertrey Ink); Leopard Print (The Paper Studio).

Word Art Wednesday Luke 6:38

It's the first Word Art Wednesday challenge in May and we have the verse from Luke 6:38 as our inspiration. I reprinted the verse using the NIV version (it was just a clearer interpretation for me personally). It references the word measure at least 3 times, so I knew I wanted to use the measuring tape stamp from the Vintage Snippets stamp set from Creative Worship Stamps. I ran a piece of kraft paper through my crimper and dry embossed a scrap of vellum using a brick embossing folder. I brushed some Antique Linen distress ink on the measuring and crimped panels and also brushed the edges of the sentiment oval.

Once again, I used the Diamond Mesh stencil from CWS with Peacock Feathers distress ink for the card background. Some thread and some yellow enamel dots finished it off. I colored the butterfly with Copics then sprayed with Sheer Shimmer "Sparkle" craft spray.

STAMPS: Made New, Vintage Snippets (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Antique Linen, Peacock Feathers distress; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Classic Kraft, vellum (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Made New (CWS); Love to Layer: Beautiful Bracket (PTI).
OTHER: Diamond Mesh stencil (CWS); thread; enamel dots; Brick & Mortar embossing folder (Stampin' Up).

We'd love to have you play along for a chance to win a gift card to our sponsor for this challenge! Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Bible Journaling

I haven't done any Bible journaling in a few days. I was inspired after working on a card for a Word Art Wednesday challenge coming in June. The verses are from a portion of Psalm 127. I started with a brick stencil from Tim Holtz. I added flowers, hearts and the one arrow from Papertrey Ink's With Love stamp set. Coloring was with Prismacolor pencils. Ink was Versafine Onyx Black. Canyon Clay ink (PTI) used with bricks and Terracotta Tile (PTI) used for hearts. The two straight arrows are from The Journey stamp set by Tim Holtz.

These verses brought back a fond memory of my parents saying "their quiver is full" whenever they described a couple not planning on having anymore children.  💖

HB Collage Card

I needed to decompress after a stressful week, so I hit up my crafting room after a discouraging visit with my husband who is battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia and has been hospitalized for over a month. I'm entering this card into the Just Add Ink challenge where we are to use dies or stencils or both. I used both with products from Creative Worship Stamps.

I smooshed Stormy Sky and Salty Ocean distress inks onto Bristol Smooth Surface paper. After drying with a heat gun, I then stamped the music, dots, measuring tape and script with Versafine Clair Nocturne. Next, I used the single damask stencil with Liquitex light modeling paste. The butterfly was clear embossed and colored with distress inks and an aquapainter.

STAMPS: Spring Collage Tag, Wonderful Words of Life, Made New, Texture Tiles 6, Vintage Snippets (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Stormy Sky, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Peeled Paint distress inks (Ranger); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Black Licorice (Lawn Fawn); Stampers Select White (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Spring Collage Tag, Made New (Creative Worship Stamps); Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Single Damask stencil (CWS); Liquitex light modeling paste; Clear embossing powder; Brads.
