Release Day at Papertrey Ink

Tonight at 10pm EST, the Papertrey Ink store will be open for purchasing the new release items! I have another card featuring the 3 different Layered Snowflakes: Flurries, Drift, Crystal die sets (yes, you will want all three sets to be able to mix and match). I love pairing them with the new Larger Than Life: Peace dies and sentiment set.

Be sure to access Instagram and participate in the blog hop that started at 2pm. Start with @papertreyink then make a comment on each designer's stop for a chance to win a $10 gift card! Yes...EVERY stop will be giving away $10!

Good luck everyone!  ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

Hi crafty friends! Today is a new Fusion Card Challenge and I've used both the sketch and photo inspiration through colors and the leaf theme. Once again, I used the new Buckeye Leaf die from The Greetery to star as the focal point.

The lower portion of the background was color blended using Mint and Meadow inks from Pinkfresh Studio. The leaf was blended with Clementine and Berrylicious inks (Pinkfresh Studio) and Harvest Gold ink (Papertrey Ink). I stenciled the small dotted stencil (PTI) with Color Box Frost White pigment ink. The "greetings" sentiment was fussy cut.

STAMPS: Larger Than Life: Fall Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: See above description.
PAPER: Moonlight Designer Series pad (Stampin' Up); Bristol Smooth Surface; Rust paper is from my scrap pile (? source).
DIES: Buckeye Leaf (The Greetery); Larger Than Life: Fall, Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: Dot stencil, Rain drop embellishments (PTI).

Hope to see you in the Fusion gallery! Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Autumn Greetings

Hi again! I'm back with a new card for The Paper Players challenge which has a sketch this week and for Just Us Girls where it's photo week.  First off, I have to give total credit for this card's outcome to a gorgeous card made by Wanda Guess for The Greetery. I have loved her card since the Mighty Oak die was released and knew I wanted to CASE it sometime (you can see a link on the Lookbook page on The Greetery website HERE). I changed the colors and sentiment and added a couple more postage images.

STAMPS
: Pretty Postmarks, Bittersweet Bouquet (The Greetery).
INK: Aqua Mist, Dark Chocolate, Cocoa Bean, Honey Nut, Harvest Gold, Orange Zest, Canyon Clay, Terracotta Tile (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface.
DIES: Botanicuts: Might Oak, Postal Frames, Bittersweet Bouquet (The Greetery).

Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!  ~Wanda

PTI September Release Day #4

This month's release is all about Christmas. Hopefully you have been following the rest of the PTI design team to see all their samples. Today, we are introducing you to Snowy Truck Accessories stamps & dies, Bring Home the Holidays dies + Inside Greetings: Peace stamp set, Larger Than Life: Peace dies + Larger Than Life: Peace Sentiments + Layered Snowflakes: Drift, Crystal, and Flurries.

Today's post will be rather lengthy, so hang in there as I share five projects. I just couldn't stop using these gorgeous new snowflake dies that come in 3 different sets with 3 different sizes in each set!

I use a lot of gift card holders during the holidays, so I was really happy to discover that the three sizes of snowflakes could be layered up to embellish the mitten and the brew-to-go gift card holders!

My first card is a mini slimline size in monochromatic Sweet Blush color. I stamped swirls in the background and separated the sentiment which gave me a more versatile choice of placement.
I added super fine glitter to the top snowflake layers and added dimension with small foam dots between layers. I topped each one off with a pearl embellishment.

STAMPS: Larger Than Life: Peace; Winter Swirls
INK: Sweet Blush, Versamark
PAPER: Sweet Blush, White
DIES: Layered Snowflakes: Flurries, Drift, Crystal
OTHER: Mini Slimline Essential Bundle (Pinkfresh Studio); Silver embossing powder; Pink pearls, Super fine glitter (Martha Stewart).

Next up is a card using the beautiful new Larger Than Life: Peace dies. I offset the silver glitter die with the solid die cut from Hawaiian Shores card stock. I adhered it over a snowflake printed vellum belly band (retired from Stampin' Up).

Because I used only a single snowflake die, you can see the details of the designs more clearly. The base panel was color blended with distress inks in 3 different colors: Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio.

STAMPS: Holiday Spirit
INK: Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio distress inks; Versamark
PAPER: Hawaiian Shores; Snowflake vellum; Silver glitter card stock; White, Bristol Smooth Surface
DIES: Larger Than Life: Peace; Layered Snowflakes: Flurries, Drift, Crystal
OTHER: White embossing powder; Silver gems

Last but not least is a card which has white on white snowflakes which looks like 3D embossing.

I embellished with florals and pinecones from the Sprigs & Sprays: Holiday set. Some fine glitter was added to the pinecones.

I was excited to discover this sentiment fits perfectly in the smallest oval die!

STAMPS: Sprigs & Sprays: Holidays, Larger Than Life: Peace
INK: Pure Poppy, Vintage Jadeite, Pinefeather, Honey Nut, Cocoa Bean
PAPER: White, Dark Indigo
DIES: Layered Snowflakes: Flurries, Drift, Crystal; Love to Layer: Ovals; Sprigs & Sprays: Holidays
OTHER: Navy thread; Super fine glitter

Color Throwdown #712

Hi friends and welcome to another Color Throwdown challenge! Barbara is hosting this week and has chosen cobalt blue, orange, kraft and cream colors. I went with the new Print Shop Calico stamp & stencil guide just released from The Greetery.

I need more practice with these stencils but, for now, it will have to do. I also stenciled the background using the Pointed Out stencil from Reverse Confetti (since the color on the BG stamp didn't work out).
Very different color combo for my usual taste. I had to restrain myself from using any green - lol!

STAMPS: Hoop Wreath, Bountiful Wreath (sentiment) by The Greetery.
PAPER: Vintage Cream, White (PTI).
INK: Blueprint Sketch, Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade distress inks; Dark Chocolate (PTI).
DIES: Hoop Wreath, Bountiful Wreath (The Greetery); Love to Layer: Ovals (Papertrey Ink); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

That's it for today. We'd love to have you play along with us!  ~Wanda
