Fusion Card Challenge

It's time for a new Fusion Card Challenge and I decided to go with both the sketch plus inspiration from the cloth bunnies in the photo! I flipped the orientation of the sketch to a horizontal position.

This was such a quick and easy CAS card which is a rare occasion for me. It involved all die cuts except for the sentiment which is from the Just Sentiments: Easter set by Papertrey Ink.

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Easter (PTI).
INK: True Black (PTI).
PAPER: White, Hawaiian Shores, Green Parakeet, Bitty Big: Harvest Gold (PTI); Snap! Color Vibe 6x6" pad by Simple Stories.
DIES: Bunnies & Bows (Lil Inker Designs); Rounded Banner STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things); Simple Strips (Pretty Pink Posh).

We'd love to have you join us in this challenge! See you in the gallery!  ~Wanda

Guest Designer at CTS

It's always an honor to have your card chosen as a challenge winner and I am thrilled to say that happened to me which leads to my being a guest designer for CAS(E) This Sketch challenge #348!  Woohoo and a big thank you to Chrissy Larson for the invite!

This sketch has endless possibilities, but I went with a new collaboration stamp set between Reverse Confetti and Simon Says Stamp for their Stamptember celebration. It's called Wonderful You and I've loved using it!

The card base is Fine Linen CS by Papertrey Ink. I stamped the leaf sprig outline repeatedly with Memento Tuxedo Black ink (using my MISTI to get at least two inkings). Then I used Old Paper, Peeled Paint and Evergreen Bough distress oxide inks to "fill in" the leaves with color. I splattered black paint from my Mijello Mission Gold palette, waited for it to dry, then die cut with the Crimped Frame die by The Greetery.  I wrapped jute twine around the panel then added this sweet little tag - Sentiment Suite: Thinking of You - by The Greetery. I am loving this color combination for fall!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Love reading your comments!

Fusion Card Challenge

There's a great new sketch as well as a fall photo to get your mojo going for the new Fusion Card Challenge! I used both as inspiration in my clean and simple creation.

I couldn't stop with just one strip of washi tape and used 3 coordinating colors for my horizontal element.

I inked up these fun images from the Pumpkin Patch stamp set by Reverse Confetti. A little jute twine finished it off!

We'd love to see how you are inspired by the new Fusion Card Challenge! Hope to see you in the gallery.        ~Wanda

CAS(E) This Sketch

The current CAS(E) This Sketch challenge #338 is actually from their archives and is a retro sketch #58.

I had this leftover tree from a previous project that has a filigree tree die cut (Impression Obsession) from a piece of Yupo paper that had green alcohol inks with brass fixative mixed in. That was then layered over some mirror gold card stock by Altenew. The frame die (Pierced Feature Frames) is by Papertrey Ink. This was so super quick and easy since the frame and stitched gold circle were in my leftover pile. My only "new" item to stamp was the sentiment from Reverse Confetti's Triangle Trees. I'm thinking the background needs something going on...just too plain for my taste - lol!

It's been a long day with getting a colonoscopy done and this chick has no remaining energy for a card redo. It will stay very clean and simple as is - lol!                                                ~Wanda

Twofer CAS Designs

I've got two cards today for two different challenges and both are CAS designs. Card #1 is for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge which is a redo of their 300th sketch. My starting point was an ink blended panel of 3 distress oxide inks: Fired Brick, Ripe Persimmon, Dried Marigold.  It had fallish vibes to it but I chose to go with this sunburst stamp/die set (My Sunshine by Reverse Confetti). The background was made with RC's Stitched Rays Cover Panel die.

Card #2 is for Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge which is to create a clean and simple design.  Since CAS-ual Fridays is their sponsor this week, I went with their fun birthday sentiment set called Whole Shebang. I lightly stenciled with Daffodil Delight using the Hero Arts Tweed Pattern stencil.

Here's what else I used...

STAMPS: Whole Shebang (CAS-ual Fridays); Polka Dot Parade #12 by Papertrey Ink.
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black; Summer Sunrise, Tropical Teal, Pure Poppy dye inks by PTI; Parakeet and Bumblebee Yellow dye inks by Reverse Confetti.
DIES: Crimped Frame (The Greetery); Blueprint 27 (My Favorite Things); Polka Dot Parade #12 (Papertrey Ink).

It's an overcast day with rain showers predicted.  I'm ready for the lower temps they say are coming! Yay!

Try Stampin' on Tuesday

I am loving another wide roll of washi tape that I purchased from Altenew! It's called Painted Fantasy and you can check it out HERE. I covered several panels to have them on hand for a quick card. I'm playing along with the sketch that is on the Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge blog.

Here's my supply list...
STAMPS: God is Good (Reverse Confetti).
PAPER: Simple Stories "Cozy Christmas"; Pear Pizzazz (SU); White (PTI),
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black.
DIES: Stitched Rectangle and Circle STAX Die-Namics by MFT.
OTHER: Wide washi tape (Painted Fantasy) by Altenew.

Roses are Pink

I took a different approach to using some alcohol ink panels and used then for die cutting instead of backgrounds. Brian King has a great new sketch for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.  For the corner triangle element, I used the honeycomb die from Tim Holtz' set of four thinlit dies by Sizzix.  I love that it gives a subtle triangle instead of a direct line.  I "lined" the die cut area with a very pale gray cardstock color. I was also inspired by the inspiration photo for
The Card Concept challenge (love that rustic chair and the gorgeous flowers!) and this also fits the photo at Time Out Challenges where the gold, gray and pink florals especially caught my eye. With Altenew sponsoring the Time Out Challenges, I chose their beautiful Fantasy Floral die as the focal point.

I used Copic refills and Pinata Brass metallic mixative on Yupo
paper.  For the circle element, I cut a double die stitched circle from shiny gold cardstock.

STAMPS: Label Love (Altenew).
PAPER: White (PTI), Yupo (Ranger), Gold Mirror (Altenew), Grout Gray (My Favorite Things).
DIES: Fantasy Floral Die by Altenew; Tim Holtz Alterations thinlit dies by Sizzix; Stitched Circle STAX Die-Namics by My Favorite Things.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches

I'm taking a break this afternoon for a quick card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge where Judy has a super fun layout for us!  I wanted to highlight this verse - a Plain Jane sentiment from Verve - to send to my dad who is in an assisted living facility and is battling depression. It's hard when I'm living in another state and can only call or send mail periodically.

I started by sponging Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough distress inks with the English Brick Wall stencil by My Favorite Things. I had a leftover piece of alcohol inked Yupo paper that was created with turquoise alcohol ink and silver mixative.  I cut the border using a stitched die by Lil Inker Designs.

STAMPS: Verve Plain Jane Psalm 46:10; Petals 'n Posies by Reverse Confetti.
PAPER: White (PTI), Brushed Silver (SU), Yupo (Ranger).
INK: Bumblebee Yellow, Parakeet, Iced Aqua, Aqua (Reverse Confetti); Versafine Onyx Black; Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bough distress inks.
DIES: Stitched Circle STAX Die-Namics by MFT; Petals 'n Posies by Reverse Confetti; Stitched Border by Lil Inker Designs.

CAS Times Two

I created two cards today for two different CAS challenges. The first one uses the adorable All About Ewe set by Reverse Confetti with the great layout for Freshly Made Sketches. I started with some beautiful spring papers from RC's Fun Times 6x6 pad. The images were colored with Copics.  The jury is out with the sentiment.  I'm not real happy with this option, so will have to consider Plan B.

My second card highlights a great faith-based sentiment from Reverse Confetti's God is Good set.

Papers are from Recollections' Seaglass 6x6 pad and the Lacy Scallop Circle die is a go to favorite by Reverse Confetti.  Their Edge Essentials dies are another of my favorites so the tiny scallop edge was a must have detail!  The layout uses the sketch from the current CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge.

CAS(E) This Sketch

It's Fri-yay and I've got the weekend off...the sun is shining...and I feel like I'm seeing the light at the end of the winter tunnel! I had to ink up this fun sun image from Reverse Confetti's March release for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge!  Donna Mikasa has a great sketch that was perfect to bring some sunshine to paper.

I started with a light watercolor wash BG using Squeezed Lemonade distress ink.

STAMPS: My Sunshine (Reverse Confetti).
PAPER: Every Little Bit 6x6 pad and Buttercup CS by Reverse Confetti; White by PTI.
INK: Buttercup, Bumblebee, Sunshine dye inks by Reverse Confetti.
DIES: My Sunshine (Reverse Confetti); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (MFT).

Shades of Pink

The Paper Players challenge is a color challenge this week and it's all about shades of pink. I'm using the sketch again for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and chose some pretty patterned paper from KaiserCraft's "The Lake House" pad to pair up with a Fantasy Floral Die from Altenew.

This was an incredibly simple card to throw together!

I quickly colored the leaves with Zig Clean Color brush markers and the flower was layered with 3 different pink pieces of cardstock from my leftover pile.  The sentiment is from Verve's "Small Phrases" stamp set.

Freshly Made Sketches

A quick and easy card for the new Freshly Made Sketches challenge! This was my first time to use MFT's Happy Birthday Circle Die-Namics and it paired well with the celebratory Cheers, Stars and Wine Service dies - also by MFT.  No stamping involved!  I used Sour Apple CS, Black Licorice CS and Calm and Cozy Chevron patterned paper by MFT, Iced Aqua CS by Reverse Confetti and White CS by PTI.

Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting...have a blessed Thursday!

CAS Heart Spots

A quick, clean and simple card for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge and the Paper Players challenge to create a CAS card with a Love Notes theme. The background was an experiment with alcohol inks on a piece of regular rather than glossy cardstock.  The cheetah was colored with Copics and his nose was highlighted with Glossy Accents.

Here's what I used:
STAMPS: Heart Spots (Reverse Confetti)
PAPER: Black and White Stripes 6x6 pad (My Favorite Things), X-Press It Blending Card, White CS by PTI.
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black.
