Winterberry Bouquets

A rainy day gave me some extra time to finally get to play with some new goodies from The Greetery! I just love their Winterberry Bouquet stamp/stencil/die set which makes it so easy to complete a large floral spray with little effort! I had the foiled backgrounds made over a month ago so that gave me a quick background option.

The first background uses silver foiling on a black background. I really love the fonts in this sentiment set!

The second card uses gold foiling on white and is a plate designed by Yana Smakula. I purchased it from Simon Says Stamp.

STAMPS: Winterberry Bouquet, Opposites Attract Holiday (The Greetery).

PAPER: True Black, White (Papertrey Ink).

INK: Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Cocoa Bean, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado (PTI).

DIES: Winterberry Bouquet, Opposites Attract Holiday, Crimped Frames (The Greetery).

OTHER: Gold and silver foiling paper by Spellbinders.

This is as close to mass producing as I get! 😂 I get bored with many repetitious stamping steps but can handle doing it in pairs. Have a great day!  ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

It's time for a new Fusion Card Challenge and we have the option of a great sketch and/or a typewritten thanks inspiration photo. I used both in this CAS design. I went to Google images and searched under "typewriter clipart" to find my image. I added the sentiment using Photoshop Elements. Hard to believe I couldn't find a typewriter related stamp in my stash but nope...none to be found!

PAPER: Happy Day 6x6" pad by My Mind's Eye; Cool Caribbean retired CS by Stampin' Up; White by Papertrey Ink.

DIES: Mini Slimline Essential Bundle by Pinkfresh Studio.

Hope to see you in the gallery! Happy stamping!   ~Wanda

Blessed!

Good morning everyone! Sun is out and it's going to be a warm day up near 70 degrees! Yes...my favorite kind of weather! I wanted to try the Holiday Wagon stamp set just released by Papertrey Ink in some fall colors. I didn't have any real small pumpkins and opted for this one in the Framing Fall set. Kinda looks like a pumpkin on steroids - lol!

I cut apart the border stamp and colored with Copics. I had the Honey Nut base and the notched frame in my leftover pile. The frame was originally white so I just sponged some Crushed Corduroy distress ink over it (I think I was too lazy to cut another one - hehe). The sentiment is one of many tiny sentiments in the Leaves in Fall set which are perfect to tuck onto a card without taking up much space.

STAMPS: Leaves in Fall, Framing Fall, Holiday Wagon (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Vintage Cream, Honey Nut (Papertrey Ink).
INK: True Black, Weathervane, New Leaf, Ocean Tides (PTI); Weathered Wood, Brushed Corduroy distress inks (Ranger).
DIES: Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles, Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Love to Layer: Notched dies, Framing Fall, Holiday Wagon (PTI); Tag Frames (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Jute twine; Star Dust Stickles.

Need to run some errands, so that's all for now.   ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #666

Another Wednesday has rolled around and that means a new Color Throwdown Challenge! Lisa Henke is hosting this week with some awesome fall colors of kraft, brown and rusty orange. I started with a kraft frame that I "white washed" with some white pigment ink than stamped over it with Scattered Straw distress ink. In hind sight, I wished I had used a slightly darker shade of brown ink. The fall leaves were stamped with at least two different distress inks then spritzed lightly with water before stamping it onto Bristol Smooth Surface paper.

STAMPS: Antique Wishes, Leaves in Fall (Papertrey Ink).

PAPER: Classic Kraft, White, Text-Style Distressed Dots patterned paper by Papertrey Ink.

INK: Barn Door, Rusty Hinge, Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo, Scattered Straw distress inks by Ranger; Dark Chocolate (PTI).

DIES: Antique Wishes, Leaves in Fall (PTI); Stitched Oval (Lil' Inker Design).

We hope to see you in the gallery! Happy stamping!   ~Wanda

PTI October Release Day 4

Can you believe we are already on the last reveal day? Tomorrow at 10 PM ET you will be able to purchase the new items we've been introducing the past four days. Today, we are introducing Oh, Holy Night stamp set and dies + To Die For Sentiments: Happy Hanukkah die + The Greatest Gift stamp set and dies.

This is a stamp/die set with a trio of beautiful evergreen trees! They are fairly large, so I went with a mini slimline sized card. I first put down a watercolored background using Salvaged Patina distress ink. I then stamped over the panel using the tiny snowflake "dots".

You can't see all the texture and dimension in the photos, but I had fun playing with a new medium - Distress Grit-Paste Snowfall - that will be carried in the PTI store with this release. It has the look of heavy frost on tree branches with a hint of shine and a raised texture that I accomplished with a small palette knife (think popcorn ceilings - lol). I splattered the trees with a brush using Permanent White Gouache that I watered down.

STAMPS: Oh, Holy Night
INK: Salvaged Patina, Pine Needles, Rustic Wilderness, Forest Moss, Evergreen Bough, Shabby Shutters distress inks by Ranger; Versamark
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface, White, Vellum
DIES: Oh, Holy Night
OTHER: WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Pale Regular embossing powder; Distress Grit-Paste Snowfall; Permanent White Gouache

The Jewish celebration of Hanukkah is also called the Festival of Lights, so I knew I wanted to feature some form of light which I did using these candle images from an old PTI set called Polka Dot Parade #12.

I die cut the sentiment twice from Dark Indigo paper then layered another cut from silver foil paper by Recollections. Star Dust Stickles (another new product that will be available in the PTI store on release day) were added to the flames.

STAMPS: Polka Dot Parade #12
INK: Orange Zest.
PAPER: Bitty Big: Dark Indigo, White; Foil paper (Recollections).
DIES: To Die For Sentiments: Happy Hanukkah, Polka Dot Parade #12, To the Point Edgers.
OTHER: Star Dust Stickles, Squeezed Lemonade & Spiced Marmalade distress markers.

I saw the color combo of red, kraft and white while browsing on the web and knew I wanted to try it with this new stamp/die set.

I got a chance to try out the new Seeing Stars stencil set from PTI and used Liquitex light modeling paste which adds dimension to the stars. The sentiment was white embossed on vellum and cut to fit the manger opening.

STAMPS: The Greatest Gift.
INK: Versamark.
PAPER: White, Classic Kraft, Pure Poppy, Vellum.
DIES: The Greatest Gift, Border Bling: Twigs.
OTHER: Wow! Opaque Bright White Regular embossing powder; Seeing Stars stencil; Liquitex light modeling paste.

That's all for the new introductions! Hopefully you have your shopping list ready for tomorrow at 10 PM ET when the release goes live!  ~Wanda

PTI October Release Day 3

Welcome back to the third day of October release reveals at Papertrey Ink! Today we are introducing you to Go-To-Gift Card Holder: Mitten dies and Mitten Accessories stamp set and dies + Grand Christmas Sentiments stamp set and dies + Feathered Friends Mini 16 stamp set and dies.

I started with stamping black snowflakes on white for the background and layered with some polka dotted Bitty Big paper.

The candy canes are inserted into a slit in the striped cuff of the mitten and this is where you would insert a gift card. At the time of taking photos, I didn't have any gift cards on hand. This holder is fairly large and is similar in size to the graduation gown from an earlier spring release.

I added shimmer to the berries using a Wink of Stella brush marker and added Christmas Red Stickles to the petals of the poinsettia.

STAMPS: Go to Gift Card Holder: Mitten, Mitten Accessories, Just Sentiments: Warmth.
INK: True Black, Pure Poppy, Lovely Lady, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse.
PAPER: Bitty Big: True Black, White.
DIES: Go to Gift Card Holder: Mitten, Mitten Accessories.
OTHER: Wink of Stella Brush II, Christmas Red Stickles.

I'm in love with this JOY die and the photo doesn't do the gold embossing justice! I kept it very simple and flat to make it a good option for mailing and mass producing. The kraft panel was run through a crimper to add a bit of dimension.

STAMPS: Grand Christmas Sentiments, Folky Holiday.
INK: Pinefeather, Versamark.
PAPER: Rustic Cream, Pinefeather, Classic Kraft.
DIES: Grand Christmas Sentiments, Pierced Feature Frames.
OTHER: WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Pale Regular, Crimper.

I went with a mini slimline card size to highlight this new mini bird. He is a cutie to color! I color blended distress inks onto Bristol Smooth Surface paper then splattered with large water droplets.

I can't seem to stop using these Sprigs & Sprays: Holiday stamps as they are so easy to arrange! I needed an elongated sentiment for the space and found this one from the Feathered Friends Mini 4 set.

STAMPS: Feathered Friends Mini 16, Sprigs & Sprays: Holiday, Feathered Friends Mini 4 (sentiment).
INK: True Black, Weathervane, Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise, Fine Linen, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal, Lovely Lady, Raspberry Fizz, LImeade Ice, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Ripe Avocado, Ocean Tides.
PAPER: White, Bristol Smooth Surface, Iced Aqua.
DIES: Feathered Friends Mini 16, Sprigs & Sprays: Holiday, Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles, Mini Slimline Bundle.
OTHER: Wink of Stella shimmer brush (berries).

Hi everyone and welcome back to the second day of the October release at Papertrey Ink! Today we are introducing you to Vase Collection 5 stamp set and dies + To Die For Sentiments: All is Bright die + Into the Blooms: Dahlias dies.

How about an ornament vase for the holidays?! I filled it with some holiday sprigs and sprays then paired it with the great new sentiment die.

I lined the star frame with some shiny silver card stock that looks much better in real life.

STAMPS: Vase Collection 3, Sprigs & Sprays: Holiday.
INK: Pure Poppy, Green Parakeet, Tropical Teal, Soft Stone, Weathervane.
PAPER: Pure Poppy, White; Patterned paper.
DIES: To Die For Sentiments: All is Bright, Vase Collection 3.

Next up is an adorable holiday wagon!

So many fun details in this set which I loved pairing with some Christmas plaid papers!

Jute twine and jingle bells finished off the rustic country feeling of the card.

STAMPS: Holiday Wagon, Just Sentiments: Santa.
INK: Pure Poppy, True Black, Bright Buttercup, Soft, Stone, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Fine Linen, Honey Nut, Classic Kraft, Amethyst Allure, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Weathervane, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening.
PAPER: Christmas Plaid (Recollections), White.
DIES: Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles, Holiday Wagon.
OTHER: Jute twine, Jingle bells, Star Dust Stickles.

Last, but not least, is a new floral die for the Into the Blooms series.

I smooshed several distress inks onto watercolor paper then splattered it with Permanent White Gouache. I love the variation in the coloring and used foam dots between the floral layers after gently curling the leaves a bit.

Lots of layers happening on this one! Gotta love the textured basket die cut from Luxe Gold paper.

STAMPS: Sweet Celebration.
