Hello friends! I wanted to play along with The Paper Players where it's a sketch challenge this week. Jan has a great layout for us and it worked well to use the Botanicuts: Hollyhocks die set from The Greetery. I cut all of the florals from Bristol Smooth paper then blended dye inks using small brushes.

STAMPS: Sentiment Suite: Birthday (The Greetery); Texture Tiles 1 (Creative Worship Stamps).
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Sunkist, Mimosa, Mango Sorbet, Sunshine, Key Lime, Olive (Pinkfresh Studio).
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Stamper's Select White; Groovy Guava (retired Stampin' Up); Textiles & Texture Vintage patterned paper (Honey Bee).

Sending Love

It's a snowy/sleeting kind of Sunday, so crafting is a must while power is still on! 😀 I made this card for The Paper Players challenge (a sketch this week) and used colors for the Sunday Stamps challenge.

Valentine's Day will be here very soon so I'm making cards for the grands. I found a paper pad with light browns, pinks and reds which was an easy solution for my card.

STAMPS: Larger Than Life: Love Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Martha Stewart Holidays mat pad; Fine Linen, Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things); Love to Layer: Hearts, Wet Paint (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: Moonshine sequins (PTI).

Two cards in a row where I finished the inside to match! No wonder it's snowing - lol!

Paper Players Challenge

.The Paper Players have a color challenge this week with a medium blue, navy blue and silver combo. I went with a "celebrate" theme using stars as accents. I water colored distress inks onto watercolor paper. I then tore the edges and swiped a Versamark ink pad along the torn edge and heat embossed with silver powder.

I used a script stencil from Hero Arts with Prize Ribbon distress ink. Here is what else I used:

INK: Prize Ribbon, Stormy Sky distress inks; Versamark.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink); Ranger water color paper; Metallic silver and brushed silver; Dark blue (? source) from my leftover bin.
DIES: This is Big Sentiments: Celebrate (PTI); Stars (My Favorite Things.
OTHER: Script stencil (Hero Arts); Silver embossing powder (Stampin' Up).

That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!  ~Wanda

The Paper Players

It's a good day to stay inside and get crafty! I was totally inspired by a card by Melissa Phillips so CASEd her design for The Paper Players challenge to use a tic tac toe inspirational board.  I went with the left vertical row of white, Christmas and die cuts. I used a gold foiled background, different sentiment and different frame to change it up from Melissa's card (you can see her version HERE).  I die cut all the trees from Classic Kraft paper, white embossed the stamped tree details then splattered using yellow gold paint.

STAMPS: Merry Berry Wreath, Peaceful Forest (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Versamark.
PAPER: Vellum, Stamper's Select White, Classic Kraft (PTI).
DIES: Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border, Into the Blooms: Poinsettias, Merry Berry Wreath, Peaceful Forest, On the Border: Fir Branches (PTI).
OTHER: Gold sparkle foil; Gold sparkle enamel dots; White embossing powder; Gansai Tambi Starry Colors (yellow gold) paint.

The Paper Players Challenge

The latest Paper Players challenge is a sketch challenge hosted by Ann. I found an old background that I hot foiled with matte white foil over Tropical Teal card stock. I received the Sizzix "Chilly and Freezy" thinlits dies as a freebie gift a couple of years ago and never used it! It's such a cute die set and fun to assemble.

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Warmth (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Versamark; Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Orange Zest, Canyon Clay (PTI).
PAPER: Tropical Teal, True Black, Stampers Select White (PTI).
DIES: Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics, Stitched Sentiment Strips (My Favorite Things); Joyful Snowman (PTI); Chilly & Freezy (Sizzix).
OTHER: White embossing powder; Martha Stewart glitter; Matte white hot foil; Red button (PTI).

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by!  ~Wanda

Tic-Tac-Toe

The Paper Players Challenge is all about a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge. I chose the top horizontal row with celebration, flowers and stencil. The stenciling is very subtle and only involves the ribbon frame. It's a pretty clean and simple design with patterned floral paper used for the negative space of the frame. Some moonshine sequins embellish the design.

STAMPS: Birthday Your Way 2 (Papertrey Ink).

INK: Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz (PTI).

PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Aqua Mist (PTI); Cute & Crafty 6x6 pad (Doodlebug Design Inc).

DIES: Ribbon Frame (The Greetery); Birthday Your Way 2 (PTI).

OTHER: Ribbon Frame stencil; Moonshine sequins.

Time for some college football games! Thanks for stopping by!  ~Wanda

The Paper Players Challenge

It was a lazy Sunday afternoon and so I stamped and die cut lots of flowers and leaves from Papertrey Ink's Wild Petals mini set. I wanted to create a card using  the sketch for the new Paper Players Challenge. Several of the team members created Z-fold cards which inspired me to do the same. It's a perfect fit for this sketch! I had to Google for dimensions and found this excellent tutorial on Tracy Elsom's blog HERE

The plaid paper is a specialty paper that is very thin and can be used to make beads. I've never tried using it for that but loved several of PTI's paper pack colors in that series.

STAMPS: Wild Petals (Papertrey Ink); Sentiment Suite: Thank You (The Greetery).
INK: Limeade Ice, Simply Chartreuse, Raspberry Fizz, Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, Melon Berry, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise (PTI); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Razzberry Fizz, Beautiful Beads: Pink & Orange Mix (PTI).
DIES: Wild Petals, Love to Layer: Rectangles, Love to Layer: Ovals (PTI).

That's a wrap for today! Thanks for stopping by.  ~Wanda

Sending Well Wishes

I used colors for The Paper Players Challenge, the sketch by Verena for Freshly Made Sketches and added embellishments which qualifies it for The Flower Challenge.  The background was stenciled with Papertrey Ink's newly released In the Meadow stencil collection.

I layered vellum behind the heart then popped it up with foam tape for added dimension. The sentiment was stamped with a dark plum color though it appears black in the photo. Corners of the card were rounded using a corner chomper. I forget to use this tool but like the way it softens the look.
STAMPS: Direct Messages (Papertrey Ink).                         INK: Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Orange Zest, Canyon Clay, Spring Moss, Olive Twist, Simply Chartreuse (PTI); Regal Kiss (Pinkfresh Studio).
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Vellum (PTI).
DIES: Direct Messages, Love to Layer: Rounded Hearts 2 (PTI).
OTHER: Sequins; Corner chomper; In the Meadow stencils (PTI).
