Sympathy Blues

It's a good Friday because it's my birthday - lol - and I was able to make a quick card for the Time Out Challenges where this week's theme is to use embellishments. The optional twist is to create a one layer card.  I always struggle with one layer, so this technically isn't one layer since the base panel is a stitched rectangle covered with wide washi tape then adhered to the white card base.  I love this wide tape because it gives you a gorgeous, instant floral background!  I added a navy frame and popped a sentiment and added some enamel dots for my second embellishment (I'm calling washi tape the first one).

STAMPS: Simple Strips by Taylored Expressions.
PAPER: White (PTI), Night of Navy (SU).
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black.
DIES: Stitched Rectangle STAX (My Favorite Things), Pierced Feature Frames (Papertrey Ink), Simple Strips (Taylored Expressions).
OTHER: Washi tape by Altenew; Enamel dots.

It's a rainy day, so looks like any birthday happenings will require an umbrella!  Enjoy your Friday!                      ~Wanda

I hope you had a fantastic birthday and ate lots of cake!! Your card totally caught my eye in the Gallery, that washi tape background is glorious and makes me wish I could paint like that. I really love the way you added the navy frame, its a very cool and modern layout. And the enamel dots are the perfect embellishment. I'm so glad you joined us at TIME OUT!

So the floral pattern comes from a tape? Wow!! That's stunning. I love the serene color palette of this card, perfect for a sympathy card. The frame you added adds a lot of detail -I really love this design. Thanks for joining us at Time Out Challenges!
