August New Release at ODBD

Grab your sunglasses, find a good book to read and an iced cold drink...we're heading to the beach with the newest stamps and dies released today at Our Daily Bread Designs!

Three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments left on the designers' blogs to receive a $15 Gift Certificate to the ODBD store which can be used toward the purchase of ODBD stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website. You have until August 2, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments! The winners will be posted on the ODBD blog on August 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

My first card uses the single Sand Dollar stamp (it's pictured here as part of the Ocean Treasures set, but it can be purchased as a single stamp as well) and the single Legend of the Sand Dollar stamp.  You can see how I added the legend to the inside of the card below...

I heat embossed the sand dollar image on the card front using malachite embossing powder on Lost Lagoon cardstock - giving it a verdigris look - then layered it over some natural colored raffia.  Designer papers on both of my cards are from the Tim Coffey designer mat pad by K and Company.

Moving on to my second creation...

I stamped the sand dollar in Marina Mist ink, fussy cut, sprayed with Smooch Spritz to give it some sparkle and sheen, then popped it with foam tape.  The sailor's knot (see "how to" under my Tips/Tutorial's tab at the top of my blog) was made using Blue Hawk twisted mason line - found in the hardware department at Walmart.  The copper colored mesh (5 1/2" wide and comes on a roll) has been in my craft room for a long time and was never used until now. I again added the Legend of the Sand Dollar stamp to the inside of the card.

Here are the other designers' links to make it easy for you to hop along and comment for a chance to win a gift certificate to the ODBD store!  You don't want to miss seeing these ladies' awesome creations with the new release!

Both of your cards showcase these sand dollars beautifully! I really like the embossing and raffia on the first card and the sailors knot and mesh are such a great touch on the 2nd. I've had some of that mesh for years and still haven't figured out a way to use it. LOL
