Yippee! My favorite month of the year is here and I'm kicking off the first Mojo Monday Challenge with lots of May flowers on my card! Because it's a new month, that means it's contest week and YOU have the chance to win some new Verve if you play along!
I created my own designer paper by stamping flowers and leaves from Verve's Bloom and Grow set using Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Lucky Limeade inks (SU). I just finished the Online Card Classes new series, Clear and Sheer, so I went with vellum for the horizontal panel - cutting it an inch wider than the base so I could fold the edges under and glue tape them to the back. I generally use spray adhesive to adhere vellum, but I wanted the panel to appear 'loose' and not totally glued down. I gold embossed the sentiment and added the 'awesome' word die (Verve's Simply Amazing set) - layered with a gold die to give it a shadow effect. The butterflies were cut with a Sizzix Embosslits Beautiful Wings die from SU. They tended to get lost in all the busy BG, so I'm thinking I should have used wood veneer butterflies or some other color. Maybe next time. :-)
