Hello summer...the theme for this beautiful inspiration photo for the current The Card Concept challenge. I was definitely inspired by the turquoise and white quatrefoil design and also the black and white stripes on the pillows. I'm needing some thank you cards so it was the perfect time to whip up this card that I would call a clean and layered style.

Steeped In Happiness
I got happy mail yesterday when my order from this month's release at The Greetery arrived. I had a hard time deciding what was top priority for me since everything was just so amazing! I chose the tea cups and matching punny sentiments and tried to keep my design clean and simple since that was part of the challenge at the Paper Players...along with having it be a sympathy or encouragement card. I'm hoping this will pass the test for an encouragement sentiment.
I had the hot foiled "frame" in my leftover pile where I used matte black foil on Soft Stone paper. I stenciled the cup using Berry Sorbet ink over the same color paper. The adorable teabag is just the cutest embellishment!
Color Throwdown #798
Happy Wednesday everyone! It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge with Lynn hosting this week. She has chosen a festive summer combo - red, blue, & green - and it was perfect for adding another birthday card to my stash! I went with a stenciled berry background and added geraniums to a fence die for the pop of red.
Geraniums were splattered with water after I color blended them with Pure Poppy ink. The leaves were leftovers from a previous project and am not sure now what ink colors I used.

Tic Tac Toe Challenge
Here is another birthday card (yup...lots of June birthdays!) and this time it's for the Tic Tac Toe challenge. I chose the far right vertical column with twine/mono-chromatic/sequins that works perfectly for my red-loving husband who has a birthday next week. We will be most likely celebrating on the stem cell unit at University of Virginia hospital. It's been quite a long journey with multiple myeloma treatment, but he is doing remarkably well!
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting! Hope you are staying cool in your corner of the world 'cause it's a hot time in Virginia! ~Wanda

Just Us Girls
TGIF! I'm entering this birthday card into the Just Us Girls challenge where it is "word week" and the word is CELEBRATE. I was recently asked by a friend to design a card for a boy who was turning 16 and this is what I created.
I layered up a couple of tags to use as the focal point. I love to personalize a card in some way, so here I added the #16. The balloon was white embossed then watercolored with Twisted Citron distress ink.
That's it for today. It will be more visits to the hospital this weekend post stem cell transplant for my husband who is fighting multiple myeloma. He is doing very well with only minimal side effects...an answer to lots of prayers for him! Have a blessed weekend! ~Wanda

Inspired By..
I needed a masculine birthday card, so the new Inspired By challenge was the perfect inspiration to create a "tuck it" card! I was inspired by the stripes, the color palette and the sketch. I had this patterned paper pad on my desk from an earlier project so that's where I started. I then die cut and stamped a variety of sports elements to "tuck" behind the sentiment.

Color Throwdown #797
Happy hump day! It's time again for a new Color Throwdown challenge. This week, Lori is hosting and has chosen yellow, orange and red as our color palette. It's the time of year when I need lots of birthday cards, so I pulled a favorite cover plate die from Papertrey Ink to create this card.I color blended the base with three distress ink colors: Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple. The sentiment was stamped with Pure Poppy dye ink by PTI. This is such a quick and easy option when you need a fast birthday greeting!

Inspired By...Oars
Good Friday to all my crafty friends! I finished this card last evening for the new Inspired By challenge. The oars were my main inspiration to create a brotherly greeting.
The baseball tee shirt die from Papertrey Ink was my starting point...so fun to create a little scene using stencils!
That's a wrap for today. Looking forward to a visit from out of state friends this afternoon! Happy stamping! ~Wanda

The Flower Challenge
Hope you are having a terrific Thursday! I am squeezing in some stamping time while I still can before my husband's stem cell transplant this coming Monday. I'll be at the hospital quite frequently until he is discharged home in about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. His aphoresis procedure went well and he has tolerated everything else very well, so here's hoping he will handle this next step without complications.
I loved the sketch for The Flower Challenge which was great for a wedding card I will need in the near future.
I had this background panel in my leftover stash where I stenciled small dots using texture paste. I chose to add the vertical strip using die cut vellum. I changed the sentiment location since the lower left corner was heavily "weighted" with the florals and I felt it would look more balanced to place it in the top right corner.
That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by and commenting! ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #796
Happy hump day! It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge with Lisa as our host: yellow, orange and fuchsia. I chose to use some stencils and stamps from Waffle Flower to create a postage collage.
I cut out three 'hello' dies and adhered them together to give a more dimensional look.

The Paper Players
Jaydee has a fun theme challenge over on the Paper Players blog! It's all about friendship and I couldn't resist working with the Best Friends Vibes stamps and dies recently released by Concord & 9th. I had the stenciled heart background in my leftover stash which led me to choosing the yellow and coral papers to match it on the bracelets.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you are having a wonderful week! ~Wanda
