Day 3 Reveal at Ink to Paper

Welcome back to day three of the May release reveals at Ink to Paper! Today we are introducing Love to Layer: American Flag dies and To Die for Sentiments: God Bless America die. Here are 3 cards plus a little home decor project using these new dies.

Let's start with my slimline card. I die cut a panel from patterned paper using the Torn Edges die then cut it in half. The flag die was layered over more patterned paper and was topped off with this great new sentiment die.
STAMPS: (none)
INK: (none)
PAPER: Yankee Doodles 6x6" pad (We R Memory Keepers), Pure Poppy, White, Luxe Silver.
DIES: Love to Layer: Torn Edges, Love to Layer: American Flag, To Die for Sentiments: God Bless America.

I thought the glitter card stock peeking through the starry openings in the Twinkle border die would add a fun touch. I cut out red, white and blue XO Heart Frames and adhered them together with liquid glue (FYI - my new fave glue is Bearly Art precision craft glue). I popped the wreath up with foam tape and also popped a small circle die in the center so I'd have an even base to add the sentiment die.

I used Mermaid Tails embossing powder on the sentiment which has a hint of bluish green flecks in the silver powder.

STAMPS: (none)
INK: Versamark.
PAPER: Red glitter, White, Pure Poppy; Brilliant Blue (retired Stampin' Up).
DIES: Border Bling: Twinkle, XO Heart Frames, To Die For Sentiments: God Bless America.
OTHER: WOW! Mermaid Tails embossing powder.

Save those leftover scraps from the flag die cuts and get creative. I used the stripes and the starry rectangle pieces to create a fun background! The tiny stars can be used for a future shaker card design.

The circle was popped up with foam tape to really draw the eye to the sentiment focal point.

STAMPS: (none)
INK: (none)
PAPER: White, Pure Poppy, Luxe Silver (Ink to Paper); Brilliant Blue (retired Stampin' Up).
DIES: Love to Layer: American Flag, To Die For Sentiments: God Bless America, Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles.

Why not add some seasonal decor to your home by changing up a picture frame, easel stand or wooden pedestal stand as shown here. This will brighten up my crafting space through Memorial Day and Fourth of July.

Remember that button embellishments will appear to be more finished by adding thread to the button holes. A large clear adhesive dot was used on the back to adhere it.

PAPER: Dark Indigo.
DIES: To Die for Sentiments: God Bless America.
OTHER: Red satin ribbon, Buttons, Pre-printed burlap banner flag.

Thanks for hanging in there on this long post. One more day of reveals so tune in again tomorrow for more summertime goodies!

Fusion Card Challenge

There is a new Fusion Card Challenge happening and I used both the sketch plus was inspired by the floral colors and the thankful theme.

I wanted to play with these new floral dies from the May release at Ink to Paper (available on the 15th). They are so much fun to mix and match in all kinds of ways! I die cut them from white card stock, then color blended with dye inks from Ink to Paper. I cut the circle element from vellum to allow more of the patterned papers to show.

STAMPS: Say It Essentials (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Share Your Heart, White (Ink to Paper).

INK: Lemon Tart, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst, Limeade Ice, Simply Chartreuse, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, True Black (Ink to Paper).

Day 2 Reveal at Ink to Paper

Welcome back to the second day of reveals for the May release at Ink to Paper! Today, we are introducing you to Feathered Friends 11 dies + Into the Blooms II dies + Vase Collection stamps and dies + Perfect Pair: Commodities stamp set and dies.

Birds and flowers always make me happy, so today's stamps and dies fill that bill. I decided to do a whimsical look and paper piece the owl with patterned papers.

The flowers and leaves were die cut from white card stock then color blended with brushes.

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Summer
INK: Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean, Dark Chocolate, Pale Peony, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse
PAPER: Share Your Heart patterned paper, Bitty Big: Soft Stone, Fine Linen, Limeade Ice, Sweet Blush, Lemon Tart, White.
DIES: Feathered Friends 11 die, Into the Blooms II, Border Bling: Twigs.

I decided to pair this lovely new vase with an older set - Wild Fields. I wanted to keep the arrangement very open and airy to allow the background more room to peek through.

Rather than use the background stamp that would add color to the entire vase, I wanted it to look more like the light was hitting it and gave it a shaded appearance by color blending. I white embossed the Antique Wishes frame so it would serve as an ink resist then color blended the yellow ink over it.
This large sentiment set is absolutely awesome and I love the large beautiful font words paired with the smaller sentiments - my favorite way to add words to a card! This will cover nearly every occasion you can dream of!

STAMPS: Vase Collection 1, Perfect Pairs: Commodities, Wild Fields, Antique Wishes.
INK: Lemon Tart, Harvest Gold, Bright Buttercup, Berry Sorbet, Amethyst Allure, True Black, Green Parakeet, Weathervane, Smokey Shadow.
PAPER: White, Bitty Big: Harvest Gold.
DIES: Antique Wishes, Wild Fields, Perfect Pairs: Commodities, Vase Collection 1.
OTHER: White embossing powder, Button.

Color Throwdown #642

Hello everyone! It's time for another Color Throwdown challenge! Barbara Anders is hosting and has chosen red, pink, green and brown for our colors - inspired by these yummy looking chocolate covered strawberries! It was perfect to ink up the special Share Your HeArt: Basket of Blossoms kit from Ink to Paper.
Here's an explanation of this new kit series: "The Share Your HeArt series is very special because it allows each and every one of us to give back to our community in a vital way. The name Share Your HeArt was carefully chosen…  Sharing your heart with others by generously donating to very important causes and then we hope you will share your He”Art” with others through the gorgeous works of art you will create with these beautiful products.  When you purchase a Share Your HeArt kit you will be giving to a carefully chosen charity that in turn will support those in need that benefit from that charity’s “soul” purpose.  We are so grateful to have organizations that work tirelessly for those that need help in our community and we hope that you will support us in supporting them". The proceeds from this kit will be donated to the Elizabeth Smart Foundation.  Their mission is bringing hope and ending the victimization and exploitation of sexual assault through prevention, recovery, and advocacy.  If you would like to learn more, please click HERE.

Day 1 Reveal at Ink to Paper

Welcome to the first day of reveals for the May release at Ink to Paper! Today we are introducing you to Message in a Bottle stamp set and dies + Inside Greetings: Summer stamp set + Summer Shells dies + Just Sentiments: Summer stamp set.

This is such a unique and fun bottle die with stamps to embellish the bottle and sentiments to add to the message on the scroll inside! I chose to create a shaker card.

I used cork paper for the cork (duh!) and stamped the highlights with brown ink. The flowers and leaves were color blended with inks onto white card stock then popped with foam tape for added dimension.

I love that Ink to Paper creates messages for the insides of our cards.

Here's a look at one of the new sentiments from Inside Greetings: Summer. -->

STAMPS: Message in a Bottle, Inside Greetings: Summer
INK: Aqua Mist, Lemon Tart, Harvest Gold, Cocoa Bean, True Black, Green Parakeet, Limeade Ice.
PAPER: Bitty Big: Harvest Gold, White, Aqua Mist, Acetate, Cork.
DIES: Message in a Bottle.

I smooshed distress oxide inks onto Bristol Smooth Surface paper then layered all white shells - embossed with WOW! White Pearl Regular powder - over a couple of frames. I embossed the shells twice which gives it a thicker and smoother look.

I'm loving the textured details that are on these dies! This card is making me anxious for our beach vacation in June!

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Summer.
INK: Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron distress oxide inks; Versamark.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; White.
DIES: Summer Shells, Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border; Stitched Circle.
OTHER: WOW! White Pearl Regular embossing powder.

Color Throwdown Challenge #641

Happy hump day! We have a great new Color Throwdown challenge with Amy Rysavy hosting and our colors are red, pale blue, kraft and ivory. I thought it was time to create another Ink to Paper bird and went with the Feathered Friends 1 die set. I cut all the parts from Vintage Cream card stock then blended oxide ink colors over the pieces. I layered the Cover Plate: Trellis in Vintage Cream over Kraft card stock then added a crimped rectangle frame. I added black Enamel Accents to the flower centers.

STAMPS: Floral Breeze, Just Sentiments: To & From Essentials (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Vintage Cream, Kraft (Ink to Paper).

INK: Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean, True Black (Ink to Paper); Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Rusty Hinge, Mowed Lawn, Candied Apple, Fired Brick distress oxide inks by Ranger.

DIES: Cover Plate: Trellis, Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border, Feathered Friends 1, Floral Breeze (Ink to Paper); Stitched Circle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

That's it for me. Now we want to see what you will create using these colors! Check out the rest of the DT samples HERE. Happy stamping!                                                                      ~Wanda
