Another week has rolled around and it's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge. Amy Rohl is hosting and has chosen blue, mustard and brown for the colors. I initially "saw" kraft in the inspiration photo then realized it was to be more of a honey or mustard color so I brushed some Fossilized Amber distress ink over the background. The card size is 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" which is not quite A2 and not quite mini slimline. I custom made the base to fit the Wood Plank Background stamp. I found a VERY helpful video tutorial by Tina Smith on YouTube that shows how to make snowy pinecones from Papertrey Ink's new Into the Blooms: Pine die set. You can check it out HERE. I sneaked in a few dark red berries which aren't in the color palette. The bird and one snowflake were cut from a leftover water colored piece in my scrap pile.
STAMPS: Merry Berry Wreath (sentiment), Wood Plank Background - both from Papertrey Ink.
INK: Classic Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Scarlet Jewel (PTI); Prize Ribbon distress ink by Ranger.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface (Strathmore); White (PTI).
DIES: Into the Blooms: Pine, Merry Berry Wreath, Festive Birds, Layered Snowflakes: Drift, Crystal (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: Coarse glitter, Glossy Accents, Jute twine
Thanks for stopping by and we hope to see you in the gallery! ~Wanda
