Ink to Paper Reveal Day #3

It's day #3 of reveals for the April release at Ink to Paper! Today, we are introducing Where It Leads stamp set and dies + Cover Plate: Scenic Path + Just Sentiments: Steps + Inside Greetings: Steps.

With all the sentiments about steps...what else could I do but create a step card?! 😀 I checked out a couple of YouTube tutorials but finally got it figured out on the third try.

I used the leafy inlay from the Grateful Vine die and topped them with flowers from the Wreath Favor Box Sentiments set - both previously released. Instead of using the entire Scenic Path cover plate, I cut away a small portion of it. I also cut away part of the lower stairway image.

STAMPS: Where It Leads, Inside Greetings: Steps, Wreath Favor Box Sentiments
INK: Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Fine Linen, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Soft Stone, Weathervane, Smokey Shadow, True Black, Classic Kraft.
PAPER: RUstic Cream, Harvest Gold, Limeade Ice.
DIES: Where It Leads, Border Bling: Grateful Vine, Cover Plate: Scenic Path.

After watching a recent tutorial on creating shadow box cards by Jennifer McGuire (see link below in supplies used), I decided it might be fun to use the Scenic Path die to create a scene... and it was surprisingly easy!

The Love to Layer: Torn Edges die was used for the frame and sponging of the edges adds a dimensional detail. A cloud stencil was used with a very light blue ink to give some interest to the sky.

The card has an accordion-like fold which allows it to fold flat into an A2 sized card and springs open when removed from the envelope. The bird was adhered to a 1/4" strip of acetate and attached to the accordian fold which gives it some movement.

STAMPS: Where It Leads, Just Sentiments: Steps, Joyous Holiday.
INK: Spring Rain, Spring Moss, Blueberry Sky, Simply Chartreuse, Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean, True Black.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Spring Moss.
DIES: Cover Plate: Scenic Path, Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles, Love to Layer: Torn Edges, Joyous Holiday.
*Credit for this technique given to Jennifer McGuire who made an easy to follow tutorial for shadow box cards on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rf7VUT_jN8I&t=780s)

My last card for the day is a mini slimline size (3 1/2" x 6"). The background was color blended on Bristol Smooth Surface paper, then die cuts were added.

STAMPS: Where It Leads, Inside Greetings: Steps.
INK: True Black; Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Peacock feathers, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness, Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy distress oxide inks.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Limeade Ice, Spring Rain.
DIES: Cover Plate: Scenic Path.
OTHER: Brown Prismacolor pencil; Cloud stencil.
