PTI January Release Day 1

Hi everyone! Hope you are surviving this winter weather without too much inconvenience! We just came through another snow storm that started Sunday and am hoping that's the last one for awhile. On a happier note, I'm excited to share that it's time to reveal some new goodies for the January release at Papertrey Ink! Today, we are introducing you to Feathered Friends 19 dies + Border Bling: Blooming Hearts dies + Into the Blooms: Roses dies + Just Sentiments: With Sympathy stamp set.

I adore this dainty frame die that has a vine with tiny blooming hearts! So perfect for Valentine cards but versatile to use the whole year long!

I created the background by gluing varying widths of paper strips to the card base. I love that this bird die set includes a branch with berries to "ground" the bird! I highlighted portions of the bird with Prismacolor pencils.

STAMPS: Frame Decor
INK: True Black, Lovely Lady, Raspberry Fizz, Green Parakeet, Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Weathervane, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise.
PAPER: White, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Green Parakeet, Lovely Lady, Raspberry Fizz.
DIES: Border Bling: Blooming Hearts, Feathered Friends 19.
OTHER: Stitched Sentiments Strips

Next up is another beautiful flower for the Into the Blooms series. It pairs well with the new sentiments in the Just Sentiments series.

I love the rich, vibrant colors of Mijello Mission Gold watercolor paints which is what I used to color the roses and leaves. I splattered the leaves with a dark shade of green paint.
The base is a mini slimline card size with white embossing of the Nifty Plaid stamp on kraft paper. I had the crimped heart on my leftover pile so I sponged the edges with Dark Chocolate ink and tucked it into the florals.

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: With Sympathy, Nifty Plaid.
INK: Versamark; Dark Chocolate.
PAPER: Classic Kraft, White; Bristol Smooth Surface; Vellum.
DIES: Into the Blooms: Roses.
OTHER: Heart die, crimper, Gold and white embossing powders, Mijello Mission Gold paints, Mini Slimline Essential Bundle.

That's all for today. Tune back again tomorrow for more new reveals!                                                         ~Wanda

Color Throwdown Challenge #676

It's Wednesday and that means a new Color Throwdown challenge with red, cream and gold as the colors. I'm combining this with the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday. I'm calling the green leaves a neutral though technically there is some green in the inspiration photo - lol! I wanted to use the new (to me) pierced cover plate from Altenew so went with an oldie but goodie stamp/die set (Peony Scrolls) from them as well.

I added torn washi tape then popped the sentiment strip and the florals
with foam tape to add more dimension.

STAMPS: Sentiment Suite: Birthday (The Greetery); Peony Scrolls (Altenew).
INK: True Black (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Peony Scrolls, Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover die (Altenew); Sentiment Suite Basics (The Greetery).
OTHER: Gold cord, Washi tape, Copics

I colored the images with Copics.

We would love to have you play along with us at Color Throwdown! Hope to see you in the gallery!  ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

It's a new year and today is a new Fusion Card Challenge! The bubbly background led me straight to some designer paper from Penny Black that had some bokeh backgrounds. I paired it up with some beverages from Papertrey Ink's Here's To You stamp/die set.

This is a very CAS design and the remainder of the sentiment is on the inside: Cheers! TO ALL THE YEARS.

STAMPS: Here's to You (PTI).
INK: True Black (PTI); Lemon Whip, Sweet Mustard, Peach Fuzz, Summer Shower, Tidal Pond (Pinkfresh Studio).
PAPER: Painted Blooms 6x6 pack (Penny Black); White (PTI).
DIES: Here's to You (PTI), Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things).

So what will you create? Something with just the sketch or just the photo or will it be a fusion? Happy stamping!   ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #674

Happy new year and welcome back to the Color Throwdown Challenge...the first of 2022! Amy Rohl is hosting this week and she has such a classy color scheme for us - black, white and gold or silver. I don't have any new year sentiments that I can recall, so I opted for a wedding card to add to my stash.

I love the bold stripe from PTI's Bitty Big: True Black pack so started there. I then took the medium sized frame from PTI's Pierced Feature Frame and cut it from both black and Luxe Gold paper so I could insert the black "middle" into the gold frame. The flowers and bow are from the newly released Jar Accessories set from PTI. I white embossed the flowers then added details with a Sharpie S-Gel 0.7 pen.

 STAMPS: Jar Accessories (Papertrey Ink).

INK: True Black, Versamark.

PAPER: Bitty Big: True Black, Luxe Gold, True Black, White (Papertrey Ink).

DIES: Framed Script - Mr. & Mrs. (Taylored Expressions); Pierced Feature Frames, Jar Accessories (Papertrey Ink).

OTHER: WOW! Opaque Bright White Regular embossing powder.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you in the gallery!

Happy New Year!

The old bloggo has been rather quiet lately! Babysitting for grands consumed four long days last week so there was very little creativity happening on my end. I hit my craft room yesterday and needed to replenish my birthday card supply so went with the new pansy dies that were part of the December release at Papertrey Ink.

I like to cut out all the flowers/stems/leaves from white cardstock and then add color by blending with brushes and dye ink. The oval is a new to me die from PTI and I love its size. I layered it over the new Cover Plate: Elegance die which adds some texture. I also highlighted the florals using Prismacolor pencils. I decided to embellish with the Pure Poppy baker's twine which has a hint of shine in it.

STAMPS: Perfect Pairs Commodities (Papertrey Ink).

PAPER: White, Sweet Blush, True Black (Papertrey Ink).

INK: Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, True Black, Simply Chartreuse, New Leaf dye inks by PTI.

DIES: Into the Blooms: Pansies, Storybook Christmas (book die used for birthday sentiment), Perfect Pairs Commodities, Shape Shifters: Oval 2, Cover Plate: Elegance (Papertrey Ink).

That's it for today. Looking forward to getting back to regular challenge team assignments later this week.   ~Wanda
